Another review of my new book, "The Art of the Steal," is in!

I just received another positive review of my latest book, "The Art of the Steal: How a Chump Became School President," where the reader wrote: "This is a timely reminder of how political machinery would manipulate a section of the public to elect a reality TV personality to run a powerful country. But the best part of this short read is the clever way the writer satirises the whole presidential election one can't help but laugh out loud. Brilliant work; this was recommended by @SirBSeb via Twitter, thoroughly enjoyed." To purchase the book (for just $0.99 on your Kindle), go to this link: https://www.amazon.com/Art-Steal-Became-School-President-ebook/dp/B071F9TVRW/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1496272015&sr=1-1&keywords=the+art+of+the+steal

Mentioned on a couple of sites (#covfefe)!

I got mentioned on a couple of sites this morning due to his #covfefe tweets: http://www.ifyouonlynews.com/news/trumps-nonsensical-midnight-tweet-is-so-bad-that-its-breaking-the-internet/ http://www.independent.ie/world-news/and-finally/everyone-is-completely-baffled-by-the-word-covfefe-in-donald-trumps-tweet-35773845.html

President Trump proposes the Obummer ban

As he attempts to reverse everything of which former President Barack Obama approves, current President Donald Trump has proposed what he has coined "The Obummer Ban," which he outlined on his Facebook page as follows: "Obummer destroyed this once great country, which we're gonna make great again, believe me! But look, trying to get us out of wars, giving 20 million people healthcare, rebounding us from a recession, you know, making our lives a living hell for 8 years, I think it's time we made his life a living hell too, and I'm gonna make it a bigly hell, I promise you! So I'm gonna ban turkey chili. Who likes that stuff anyway? It's turkey or chili, make up your mind! I'm also gonna ban beer. Who likes that stuff anyway? It's nasty! As I always say, 'Fear the beer!' That's true. That's so true. I'm also gonna ban M*A*S*H , Stevie Wonder, and that Gaye song, 'What's Going On?'. Mash rhymes with rash, so, I m

"Happy" Memorial Day?

Sometimes I think we forget the true meaning behind Memorial Day, especially when we utter to others, "Happy Memorial Day!" or "Thank you for your service!" Memorial Day is a day used to remember soldiers who lost their lives fighting for our country. It's a day of remembrance, mourning, and gratitude. While we should always be thankful to our men and women in uniform, past, present, and future, I have to wonder how the friends and families of loved ones who have died defending our country feel about seeing others getting drunk, lighting off fireworks, and shouting, "Happy Memorial Day!," seemingly treating the holiday as just another reason to get drunk, as opposed to displaying genuine gratitude to the men and women who died in battle to help protect the liberties we appear to sadly all too often take for granted. Look, it's fine to go out and party with friends and family over the holidays, but try not to ever forget why we're so privileged

One chapter closes, another begins...

I recently reported that the show at which I co-host at, The Tracy & Craig Show , was on hiatus, and I was uncertain of when, or even if it'd return. Well, it seems all but certain that the show is extinct. I won't go into details as to why this is occurring. All I'll say is I wish my (former) co-host nothing but the very best; I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity she provided me; and while I'm saddened that this chapter in my life has closed, I'm excited for the chapters ahead. I was dealing with some major health issues at the show's onset, was beyond nervous during the first episode (or three), but eventually settled in, found my voice, and actually enjoyed it. Since my co-host, Ms. Fort, was the show's founder, and due to that, had full control of it (and rightly so), I remain quite ignorant about how to start and work such a show. However, I'm already researching the matter and am hoping to start my own podcast before too terribly lon

NBA = National Boredom Association

While I think the NBA Finals will feature the two best teams bar none, in the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers, and I'm hoping the series goes 7 games and is tightly contested throughout, I'm personally getting bored with these two teams' dominance and sincerely hope other teams start competing more in the coming years, because this is just becoming too predictable to my liking.  Sure, the New England Patriots have sat or near the top of the NFL for a number of years, but in that same time-frame, the following other teams have won Super Bowls: Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Denver, NY Giants, Green Bay, New Orleans, Tampa Bay, and Seattle. In baseball, the Kansas City Royals and Chicago Cubs have won the World Series in recent years. The Nashville Predators just made it to their first Stanley Cup Finals. In the NBA, though, we're about to witness the third consecutive finals between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers. While I actually like wat

"The Tracy & Craig Show" on hiatus

While I can't go into details on why this is occurring, I just thought I'd inform readers/listeners that The Tracy & Craig Show , co-hosted by Tracy Fort and myself, is currently on hiatus. I haven't the slightest idea on when, or even if, the show will return. I'll be certain to update everyone as soon as I hear word about what the future holds for us. If we decide to scrap the show altogether, I'll likely be seeking to either join or start my own podcast. Once again, I'll be certain to update all my readers and listeners once I fully decide on what my next step will be in the world of talk radio. http://www.blogtalkradio.com/thetracyfortshow

I will never watch "The Distinguished Gentleman" in the same way again...

Ever see a movie, an episode of a show, or hear a song which clicks with you years, even decades after first experiencing it? Then think to yourself, "Wow, were those writers psychic or something?" That's kind of how I'm feeling with regard to the 1992 film "The Distinguished Gentleman." The political comedy, written by Marty Kaplan and Jonathan Reynolds, is led by Eddie Murphy, and now seems to have been a psychic foreshadowing of our current president, Donald Trump. In the film, Murphy plays a con man from Florida who plays off his well-known name of Jeff Johnson to get elected as a congressman. The guy has no experience politically, hires his inner circle of con artists as assistants, and speaks about as vaguely as a stoned psychic concocting horoscopes. Not long after he gets elected, his shady history starts to catch up with him, and he appears to fit right in with the rest of Washington more so than he may have initially. Not only that, but at one po

First review of my new book, "The Art of the Steal"

My new book, "The Art of the Steal: How a Chump Became School President," just received its first review. It came from an Australian lad, who gave it 5 out of 5 stars and wrote the following: "I literally pissed myself laughing! What fantastic summation of the last USA election. I loved the line that Chump 'was as inconsistent as a drunkard at a urinal...' 😂 😂 😂 . Well written and I'm looking forward to your next writing; no pressure hahaha. Cheers Craig" https://www.amazon.com.au/product-reviews/B071F9TVRW/ref=acr_dpproductdetail_text?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1

My new book, "The Art of the Steal: How a Chump Became School President," is now available!

I stumbled upon a writing competition about a month ago (or so). It required a 5,000+ word composition which had yet to be published. For whatever reason, an idea immediately sprung to mind - a satire inspired by the most recent general election - and I went to work. For as skeptical as I was at times, I was able to complete the book by the contest's deadline and it's now available on Kindle for just $0.99. The book's title is The Art of the Steal: How a Chump Became School President , will likely be the shortest and cheapest book I'll ever write (just over 6,000 words), and if you're at all curious, you can look at and/or purchase it here: https://www.amazon.com/Art-Steal-Became-School-President-ebook/dp/B071F9TVRW/ref=sr_1_12?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1495159334&sr=1-12&keywords=art+of+the+steal Here's a quick summary of the book:  " Whether it was money, gifts, house work, or his grades at school, Ronald Chump had everything handed to him

Face-palm quotes brought to you by Tony Dungy and Mike Huckabee

I read two quotes today which I felt the need to share and rebut. They come courtesy of former NFL head coach and current NFL analyst Tony Dungy, and former Arkansas governor and current douchebag Mike Huckabee. I'll start with Dungy's comment, as he made his thoughts known on why Pro Bowl quarterback Colin Kaepernick has yet to get signed by an NFL team: "Without that national anthem [protest], someone would have signed him by now. If you're seen as a distraction off the field, for whatever reason, you better have a lot of talent going for you. People will overlook it. They always sign talent if they think he's going to upgrade your team. Michael Vick went through a lot of that and had some teams say no [to signing him]. Andy Reid was the one coach who said, 'Hey, we'll do it. We think enough of him as a player, and we know we're going to take some criticism.' With Joe Mixon, you had the same thing. That's what happens." Really? Dung

"Quoted" tweets, brought to you by Donald Trump

What is it with Donald Trump and using unnecessary, perhaps meaningless quotations in tweets? First, on March 4th of this year, he tweeted this: "Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my 'wires tapped' in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!" After receiving backlash for his (false) accusation, press secretary Sean Spicer attempted to partially walk back the president's comments, telling the press, "I think that there's no question that something happened. The question is, is it surveillance, is it a wiretap, or whatever?" Then on May 12th, The Donald posted this tweet: "James Comey better hope that there are 'no tapes' of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!" To this point, there has been no evidence to either prove nor disprove Trump's insinuation. However, given his history with using quotes to broaden a term's definition, several analysts have speculat

GOP House passes car insurance reform

In a surprise move on Monday, House Republicans voted to reform car insurance. The bill, called, "The No Drive No Problem Act," makes it simultaneously easier for those without automobiles and more difficult for those with automobiles to purchase car insurance. Here's what House Speaker Paul Ryan had to say about the bill: "This could be called the Common Sense Act, because some things just make sense, and this is one of those things. Have a car? Why should you have car insurance? Don't have a car? Here's your car insurance. It's as simple as that." Up next on the slate for the GOP-led House is to pass a bill which forces the homeless to pay for mortgages of homeowners. While it's predicted this bill, "Homeless Homes," will easily pass in the House, the chances are slim it will pass in the Senate. With regard to this bill, President Donald Trump said, "This will be a yuge win, people! What better, more smarter way to spend mo

Trump celebrates booking Pavarotti concert

After Donald Trump got off the phone with a Luciano Pavarotti impersonator, he celebrated at the White House, claiming he had just booked a concert with the legendary opera singer. During this celebration, Trump said: "Who said this presidenting thing was hard? This is my greatest accomplishment to this day! Pavarotti is going to come here, perform, and he's going to be tremendous, believe me! This is just fantastic, unbelievable!" For how much longer the president will celebrate is anyone's guess, as Luciano Pavarotti died 8 years ago. When asked for her reaction to the news, Pavarotti's widow, Nicoletta Mantovani, said, "I have no comment, and neither does my dead husband."

GOP House passes the ASCA (American Steal Cars Act)

In a result which was predicted by experts, on its third attempt to do so, the GOP-led House passed the ASCA (American Steal Cars Act) with 217 votes. While the CBO (Congressional Budget Office) has yet to release their analysis of the bill, their analysis of the previous proposal claimed that, if passed, the bill would result in the following: - 20 million Americans losing their cars - Those who have ever been involved in a car accident may not be able to purchase a car in some states - Owners of automobiles who happen to be women won't be allowed an airbag in their cars - Car prices will increase for the bottom 5% - Free cars will be given to the top 2% Just prior to the vote, House Speaker Paul Ryan had this to say about the measure: "The way of buying automobiles of the past isn't working. People are going bankrupt with all their car expenses. Some are even dying as the result of accidents. We can no longer have the status quo. In some states, Iowa for in

Paul Ryan signs prenup without reading it

In a surprise move, Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, while alongside his wife Janna, signed a prenuptial agreement without reading it yesterday. When asked why he did this, the Republican Congressman said: "Look, no matter what's in here, it's going to make my wife and my's marriage stronger. It's going to make our love grander, our trust greater, our sex annual. It's of no relevance that my Janna apparently wrote this with her guy on the side, Enrique; it's going to be what places the trials and tribulations of our past chapters behind us, and help us move toward a brighter chapter in our book of love. I've never been prouder to have signed something I didn't read than I am right now. It's not the first time, and it won't be the last time. You can be sure of that. It's like my dad always told me, 'You read, you learn, you write. You don't read, you don't learn, you right.' How right he was..." Janna, meanwhile

Trumpsters want Colbert fired? Really? Oh, the irony...

Late Show host Stephen Colbert has recently come under fire from right-wingers due to some comments he made on Monday's show. As a result, #FireColbert trended on Twitter for a few hours last night. What were the comments Colbert uttered which triggered many Trumpsters? Well, after the CBS late-night show host aired a clip of Donald Trump refusing to answer a question posed by John Dickerson and asking him to leave, while Colbert said Dickerson was an extremely upright individual, he was not, and proceeded to say the following directed toward the president: "Sir, you attract more skinheads than free Rogaine. You have more people marching against you than cancer. You talk like a sign language gorilla that got hit in the head. In fact, the only thing your mouth is good for is being Vladimir Putin's c*ck holster." That last bit is what angered Trumpsters, as many claimed Colbert's monologue was: "Hate speech" and "a homophobic slur," among oth

Health care isn't political; it's personal

A couple nights ago, late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel made news by giving a heartfelt monologue with regard to his newborn son, who was born with a congenital heart condition. Teary-eyed throughout his speech, Kimmel said this: "Before 2014, if you were born with a congenital heart condition like my son was, there was a good chance you would never be able to get health insurance because you had a preexisting condition, you were born with a preexisting condition, If your parents didn't have health insurance, you may not even live long enough to get denied insurance due to a preexisting condition. If your baby is going to die, it shouldn't matter how much money you make. I think that's something that whether you're a Republican, or a Democrat, or something else, we can all agree on. No parent should have to decide if they can afford to save their child's life. It just shouldn't happen. Not here. We need to make sure that the people that are supposed t

Out of touch? Yes, Donald Trump is, but voters also say that about the Democratic Party

In a recently released Washington Post-ABC News  poll, while the public at large doesn't hold Republican President Donald Trump in high esteem, Democrats don't have much reason to feel overly confident about their prospects in the 2018 and 2020 elections. According to this poll, approximately 67% of the public feel the Democratic Party are "out of touch." Crazier yet, only 52% of self-described Democrats feel their party is in touch, while 44% do not. Not only that, but just 18% of Independents feel the Democrat Party was in touch. While I feel these numbers will improve among the Democrats' base as we move toward the midterm and general elections, the fact we're even talking about the party having trouble with its base is quite telling. So what can they do to improve these numbers? First of all, the Democratic Party needs to find and expose their leaders of the future to help capture people's excitement much like Barack Obama did leading up to the 2008

Douche/Jerk of the Week: Alabama Congressman Mo Brooks

While speaking with CNN's Jake Tapper, Alabama Congressman Mo Brooks said the following with regard to the House's latest healthcare bill: "My understanding is that (the new proposal) will allow insurance companies to require people who have higher health care costs to contribute more to the insurance pool. That helps offset all these costs, thereby reducing the cost to those people who lead good lives, they're healthy, they've done the things to keep their bodies healthy. And right now, those are the people--who've done things the right way--that are seeing their costs skyrocketing." While I'm tempted to simply go off on Mo Brooks right now, I'll try to keep my cool. Are the odds better for those who "lead good lives" to be healthy and not require as much healthcare as those who don't "lead good lives"? Sure. However, is it a guarantee? Absolutely not! I was born with epilepsy. What did I personally do to deserve being

Donald Trump knows history like Beethoven knows gangsta rap

In a recent interview with Salena Zito of the Washington Examiner , President Donald Trump made the following comment about former President Andrew Jackson: "I mean, had Andrew Jackson been a little later, you wouldn't have had the Civil War. He was a very tough person, but he had a big heart. And he was really angry that -- he saw what was happening with regard to the Civil War. He said, 'There's no reason for this.' People don't realize, you know, the Civil War - if you think about it, why? People don't ask that question, but why was there the Civil War? Why could that one not have been worked out?" The big problem with this claim is the fact Andrew Jackson died in 1845 and the Civil War didn't start for another 16 years, in 1861. Given this, expect Trump to utter the following lines in the future (if he hasn't already): - "My favorite president has to be George Washington. The way he handled 9/11 was just unbelievable!" - &
