Dear Trump supporters: How are you liking them promises?!?

Like all presidential hopefuls, Donald Trump made his fair share of promises leading up to the 2016 election. The way Trump has been talking post-election, he's made it sound as though he's kept every promise he's ever made, even those he didn't make. Let's look back at some of Trump's biggest campaign promises, shall we?

1) Free Border Wall - Sure, he's increasingly refrained from saying that Mexico would pay for it, but whatever happened to that big, beautiful border wall? He shut down the government for a record 35 days in an attempt to get Congress to include funding for it in a budget deal. That didn't work. He's since declared a national emergency over the matter, only to see his Republican brethren join Democrats in shooting it down. Even the layout of the wall has changed more times than Trump can count (yes, over 2). It went from a "big, beautiful wall, the likes of which we've never seen" to "a barrier, wall, thingofamajig, whatever." No matter what Trump manages to get done with this "whatever," he'll never be able to build his initial vision of it and Mexico will never pay for whatever does get completed.

Promise-O-Meter: 0 for 1

2) A Full Repeal of Obamacare - Yeah, that didn't happen. Trump was able to repeal the individual mandate and essentially transform "Obamacare" into "Trumpcare," but yet again, he wasn't able to fulfill his campaign promise.

Promise-O-Meter: 0 for 2

3) Lock Her Up - Remember that? After Donald Trump was named the Republican nominee, the phrase "lock her up" became more ubiquitous than wine in a church. Ironically enough, while Donald Trump has yet to even seriously talk about prosecuting Hillary Clinton, several in his inner-circle have either been indicted or arrested, including Michael Flynn, who led the "lock-her-up" chant during a speech at the Republican National Convention.

Promise-O-Meter: 0 for 3

4) Let's Ban Muslims - Trump went from "let's ban all Muslims" to "let's temporarily ban people from six Muslim-dominated countries." The courts struck down the president's executive order to ban a group of people based on their religious affiliation, so he altered the wording to make the intent sound like he was attempting to temporarily ban those whom presented significant terror risks. That's a far cry from where he started.

Promise-O-Meter: 0 for 4

5) We're All Gonna Get Cuts - While most everyone saw their taxes cut, the long-term benefits have proved minimal, unless you're in the top 1%. All this cut did was increase stock numbers and expand the wage gap to its largest since the Great Depression. As many are seeing while doing their taxes this year, the tax cuts were implemented only to benefit the uber-wealthy, while the rest see their returns decrease quite substantially from years past.

Promise-O-Meter: 0.5 for 5

In my opinion, those were the five biggest promises Donald Trump made during his campaign. The only one he's come close to fulfilling is his promise on cutting taxes for everyone. The wall has not been built, will not be fully built, and Mexico will never pay for anything that gets built. The Affordable Care Act has not been repealed. Hillary Clinton has not been prosecuted. Muslims have not been banned from the country. Oh, and the rich have only gotten richer, at the expense of the rest of us. Make America great again?!? Not hardly, no matter how many times he promises it. It's high past time Trumpsters got their heads out of their rears, woke up to reality, admitted they made a mistake, and fought alongside the rest of us to get Trump out of the Oval Office and back into "reality" television where he belongs.

Boycotting jukeboxes because of TouchTunes

I love music and enjoy hitting the bar(s) over the weekend, so naturally, when the mood strikes me, I've never been coy about playing some songs on the jukebox. This past Thursday, a friend of mine turned 50, so several friends of her's, including myself, all met up to celebrate the occasion. At around 9:30, a friend of mine and I both chipped in $5 to play some songs on the jukebox. Four hours and 231 skips later, we gave up on hearing the songs we had selected, and went home knowing we had just wasted $5. This wasn't the first time such a thing had happened to me (and many others), and due to that, I'll be boycotting jukeboxes. Why? The scam known as TouchTunes. You see, here's how the plot typically breaks down. A person (or group of people) downloads the TouchTunes app on his/her phone, consumes one too many adult beverages, and due to this, has less care for spending extra money to hear the songs of their choosing right NOW. That's the thing with TouchTun...

Face guarding is legal in college football and the NFL

I just wanted to remind fans and announcers especially, that face guarding is legal in both college football and the NFL. It all comes down to contact. So long as a defender doesn't make contact with an intended receiver, he doesn't have to turn around to play the ball. I can't tell you how many times every week I hear announcers talk about face guarding being a penalty. It's not. I even heard one announcer yesterday state, "If the defender doesn't turn around and play the ball, the ref will call pass interference every time." That's simply not true. Courtesy of referee Bill LeMonnier, he says this with regard to the rule at the college level (answered on 8/12/13): "NCAA rules on pass interference require the face guarding to have contact to be a foul. No contact, no foul by NCAA rules." In the NFL rule book, this is written:  "Actions that constitute defensive pass interference include but are not limited to: (a) Contact by a ...
