Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, all! In spite of Donald Trump being our next president, I hope you have a great 2017! Let's try to make 2017 the best year in recorded history! I hope to have four new books published, hope to continue progressing with the talk radio show, and hope I (and others) can help fight Donald Trump's vision of democracy - an idiocracy! Have fun and be safe! Cheers!

Info on my Facebook business, Twitter, and Tumblr pages

Here's the URL to my Facebook business page. I update it fairly regularly, but still haven't put forth a great deal of effort yet in researching matters and attempting to make the most out of it. In any case, it can be perused here: http://www.facebook.com/AuthorCraigRozniecki?ref=hl Up next is my Twitter page. I'm still not 100% certain what I'm doing on there yet, but feel I'm gradually getting the hang of it and am up to 54,857 followers. I update it daily with many of my own tweets, but also by retweeting some others'. It can be found here: https://twitter.com/CraigRozniecki Lastly, here's my Tumblr page, which I've neglected quite a bit recently, but if you're at all curious, you can find it at the following link: http://www.tumblr.com/blog/rozzy81

Happy Holidays, everyone!

Like a lot of people around this time of year, I'll be spending a lot of time with friends and family over the coming few days, so just in case I'm unable to write in that time-frame, I thought I'd send a "yuge" Happy Holidays shout-out to all of my readers, listeners, and followers (of the cyber-stalking variety). So, Happy Holidays, everyone! I hope you have a fun, safe, and (relatively) drama-free holiday weekend! Remember, if a relative starts to spew Trump, don't hesitate to dump eggnog on them! 'Tis the season, or something...

#WheneverIFeelAfraid and #unpresidented

I had a little fun on Twitter over the weekend with the trending hashtags #WheneverIFeelAfraid and #unpresidented. Here are my tweets, ordered from the most popular to the least popular (all my tweets can be read here - https://twitter.com/CraigRozniecki ): 1) Trump: "It's like that Shakesbeer guy once said, 'To be presidented or to be unpresidented?' that is the question.'" #unpresidented 476 Likes, 187 Retweets 2) Trump: "#Unpresidented. It means to not be presidented, or you know, unpresidented. Why do I have to explain this? I'm like smart & stuff." 418 Likes, 136 Retweets 3) Trump: "I gotta tell you, & I'm not being braggadocious here, but the bigly big league euphenisms I know is unpresidented." #unpresidented 243 Likes, 77 Retweets 4) Trump: "I don't need any intelligence briefings. My latest book review

I just received another 5-star review for my latest book, LOL at the GOP - Volume 6: Orange Is the New Crazy . It reads: "Really good for a pick me up. Laughter is healthy and the was always a good line around the corner. My only negative comment would be the red footnotes were distracting. Perhaps should go at the end of the chapters. Lines are great and you can imagine Craig as a stand-up comedian with the audience howling. Recommended for sure. Must find some more of his books." https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MDPIIGU/ref=sr_1_4?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1477100505&sr=1-4&keywords=lol+at+the+gop

Happy Hollimasukkah!

It seems that on an annual basis, around this time of year, I hear people show anger or annoyance at those who express seasons greeting differently than them. Emerald Fuddyduddy: "Happy Holidays!" Russell Zoloft: "No, it's Merry Christmas! What are you, a fricking atheist?!?" Fuddyduddy: "Seasons Greetings!" Zoloft: "Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas! You can't spell 'Christ' without 'Christmas,' or something like that!" I'm sorry, but who cares? Fox News likes to clamor on about an alleged "War on Christmas" because an increasing number of people are telling each other "Happy Holidays" as opposed to "Merry Christmas," but that's a bigger myth than Santa Claus being healthy enough to travel the world on December 25th of every year without facing any repercussions. Again, who cares? It's not like when someone says "Happy Holidays," they're re

"I'm not one of those politically-correct folks..."

Why is it so many like to say they're politically incorrect? After uttering something which only a handful of people the world over might find offensive, they'll say, "I'm not one of those politically-correct folks." It almost comes across like a hybrid of bragging and a just-in-case defense: "Yeah, I'm a bad boy, but if you are offended, I didn't really mean anything by it." My issue with any such statement is, if the person truly is what they say they are, why do they feel the need to say it? "I'm not a racist, but..." Okay, good, but if you're not a racist, why do you feel the need to tell those around you? "I'm not a sexist, but..." That's fantastic, but why do I get the hunch you're about to say something sexist, making your claim moot? "I'm not one of those politically-correct folks..." In this case, at least the person is being honest (to a certain degree), but still, what's the

Why "locker-room talk" is a "bigly" sad excuse...

I know this seems like old news, but just recently I got into a debate with an individual about Donald Trump's leaked Access Hollywood tape, where he and Billy Bush engaged in what my debate opponent referred to as "locker-room talk." So, first off, what is locker-room talk ? According to the dictionary, it's, "Of, relating to, or suitable for use in a locker room; especially: of a course or sexual nature <locker-room talk>." Let's now look at the full Access Hollywood transcript between Billy Bush and Donald Trump: Donald Trump: "You know, and I moved on her actually. You know she was down on Palm Beach." Unknown: "She used to be great. She's still very beautiful." Trump: "I moved on her and I failed. I'll admit it. I did try and f*ck her. She was married." Unknown: "That's huge news." Trump: "No, no, Nancy. No, this was - and I moved on her very heavily. In fact, I took her ou

Conservatives yell "identity;" Progressives yell "equality"

It seems that 9 times out of 10, when I hear the term identity politics , it's uttered by a Republican laying claim that Democrats are obsessed with it. That in and of itself is comical. It reminds me of a funny scene from the film What About Bob? Bob Wiley: "The doctor draws two circles and says 'What do you see?' The guy says 'Sex.' Wait a minute, I haven't even told the joke yet! So the doctor draws trees, 'What do you see?' The guy says 'Sex.' The doctor draws a car, owl, 'Sex, sex, sex.' The doctor says to him, 'You are obsessed with sex.' He replies, 'Well, you're the one drawing all the dirty pictures!'" So what even is identity politics ? Dictionary.com defines it as, "Political activity or movements based on or catering to the cultural, ethnic, gender, racial, religious, or social interests that characterize a group identity." Let's be honest, based on that definition, both partie

The differences between satire and fake news

I really hate that it's gotten to this point, but sadly, on December 14th of 2016, I feel I must explain the differences between satire and fake news. Sadder yet, renowned satirist Andy Borowitz has now decided to include the words "NOT THE NEWS" front and center on each and every one of his articles, because apparently, we're too stupid to figure that out for ourselves (well, some of us). I bring up Borowitz because, earlier today, a Facebook friend of mine commented on one of his articles, saying, "Fake news should be outlawed!" This prompted me to explain the differences between the two, in a condensed fashion, saying, "It's satire. If we went down that slippery slope, all comedy would be outlawed. There's a stark difference between 'fake news' with the intent of misinforming mass quantities of people to provide aid for a particular political agenda, and 'fake news' with the intent of stimulating thought and laughter by poki

Ranking the albums of my three favorite bands (Part 3): #1 Muse

I thought I'd take some time away from the crazy world of politics and write about one of my loves, one of the things which helps keep me reasonably sane despite the before-mentioned craziness - music. I have a wide range of likes when it comes to music. Growing up, my mom preferred to listen to oldies, while my dad opted for classic rock, and my family in Michigan listened to, what else, but Motown. My brother involved himself in jazz band, introduced me to some alternative rock bands. A few friends of mine enjoyed rap and/or country. Through it all, I've come to enjoy at least a few songs from every genre, including country, which is without question my least favorite style of music. Even so, though, I can't help but feel like rock 'n' roll runs through my veins. I loved it when I was a child and my dad played: Boston, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Alice Cooper, The Rolling Stones, Elton John, and Aerosmith from his record player, and I've been hooked ever since.

Thankful my niece wasn't in town over Thanksgiving

As is typical for me around this time of year, I've been spending a lot of time with family around the holidays. My brother, sister-in-law, and niece will be flying this way around Christmas, and as always, I'm incredibly excited to see them. While I love my niece dearly, however, I was quite thankful she wasn't with my family and I on Thanksgiving. When it comes to family, I consider myself very lucky. Sure, there always appears to be some unnecessary drama, not to mention a couple of individuals whom have all been alienated themselves from the rest of the family. What family isn't a little dysfunctional, though? When we're together, chances are we're talking, laughing, eating, drinking, and having a good time. While we find a way to make the diverse mix of constants work together, however, the wild cards are always the cousins' boyfriends/girlfriends, and last month, one such individual prompted me to say thanks for my niece to not be potentially placed

I highly recommend checking out the French film "Evolution"!

I love cinema, and as a lover of cinema, I like to believe I'm pretty open when it comes to the art of filmmaking. While I, like most everyone, have genre favorites and least favorites, I try to view and appreciate selections from each (well, besides porn). Regardless of the genre, however, there rarely comes a time when a film "wows" me - meaning a film significantly impacts me on a mental or an emotional level (or both), to the point of goosebumps and my mind being unable to shift its attention away from the viewing for several hours or even days. Well, this happened to me recently while viewing the 2016 French film, Evolution , and I felt the need to sing its praises. Here's a summary of the film, posted on movie-review site, Rotten Tomatoes : "10-year-old Nicolas lives with his mother on a remote island, in a village inhabited by women and young boys. In a hospital overlooking the ocean, all the boys are subjected to a strange medical treatment. Only Nicol

My first experience with jury duty

During the summer, I received a summons to partake in a jury selection process on four separate dates from September through December. Prior to me venturing to the courthouse on the first three dates, I was informed that the cases had been settled. That wasn't the case on the fourth and final date, however, and I wound up sitting in a room of approximately 35 people Tuesday morning, of which 12 of us would soon be hearing and ruling on a legal case (14 including the alternates). While I was not one of the first twelve selected, after a couple of potential jurors were removed from their duties due to a variety of reasons, I was called up, asked a couple of questions by both the state and defense attorneys, and when everything was finalized, found myself sitting amongst the 12 jurors whom would be deciding the fate of the defendant. Each of the jurors were then handed pens and notebooks, were presented with both the state's and defense's opening comments, before we observe
