Mentioned on several websites!

Due to some tweets of mine, I got mentioned on several websites, including MSN and The Hill ! Not only that, the author of the Guacamoley! article referred to my tweet with these words: "This might ultimately be the winning entry." You can check out the articles at the following links: https://guacamoley.com/the-scoop/2019/05/22/don-trump-jr-just-landed-a-book-deal-and-twitter-is-roasting-him-hard-with-fake-titles/ https://www.comicsands.com/lindsey-graham-the-lapdog-hashtag-2637398139.html https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trumptantrum-spreads-on-twitter-after-impromptu-press-conference/ar-AABNR2a https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/445218-trumptantrum-spreads-on-twitter-after-impromptu-press-conference http://randyreport.blogspot.com/2019/05/alabama-legislature-passes-total.html If you're interested in checking out my other work on Twitter, you can follow my account here:  https://twitter.com/CraigRozniecki

Twitter trending-hashtag posts (5/13 - 5/28)

I've had some fun with trending hashtags on Twitter over the past couple of weeks. Here are my posts, ordered from the most to the least popular (all my tweets can be seen here - https://twitter.com/CraigRozniecki ): 1) Trump: "I don't do cover-ups!" This excludes: - Taxes - Grades - Bank records - Baldness - Talks with foreign dictators - Affairs - Whiteness - Investigations - Visitor logs - Medical records - Conspiracy - Obstruction - Fraud - Laundering - Weight - Truth #TrumpTantrum 2,453 Likes, 1,113 Retweets 2) Trump: "What's a good lapdog say?" Graham: "You're a race-bating, xenophobic bigot!" Trump: "Try again." Graham: "You're not a racist by any stretch of the imagination. I've never heard you make a single racist statement." Trump: "That's better. Here's a treat." #LindseyTheLapdog 1,282 Likes, 540 Retweets 3) #Alabama 1) "We're not going to te

The N-word vs. "Honky" debate

I recently heard about a person contending that television had a double-standard on slurs, as while they'd bleep out the n-word, they'd air the term "honky." I then had a friendly debate with a third party about the matter. First off, if we want to purely look at things from a black-and-white perspective (no pun intended), all slurs are bad. However, as is almost always the case, things are more complex than that. There are several reasons why the n-word is regarded as a more offensive slur than "honky," the biggest of which is historical context. The etymology of honky  is unclear. One theory is that the term originated in Oak Hill, West Virginia, where coal miners were segregated into three groups: 1) Whites, 2) Blacks, and 3) Non-English-speaking whites knows as "Hunk Hill." Another theory is that the term started in the meat-packing plants of Chicago, where black employees referred to white employees as "honkies." Yet another theo

Projectionist Trump

As I learned in psychology class, projection is defined as "a defense mechanism in which the human ego defends itself against unconscious impulses or qualities (both positive and negative) by denying their existence in themselves while attributing them to others." Never before have I see someone more guilty of this than Donald Trump. Let me run down a list of nicknames he's coined for others, while adding my two cents on each. 1 Percent Biden : Maybe this is meant as an insult, like Trump thinks the former vice president is poor or something, for he tends to paint himself as being in the top 0.000000000000000000000000000001 percent. Crazy Joe Biden : Trump has so many personalities, even Sybil is impressed. Creepy Joe : Grabbing women by the nether-region apparently isn't creepy. I have a hunch they'd disagree... Swampman Joe Biden : Coming from a guy who has had to drain his own swamp over the past couple of years... Little Michael Bloomberg : Donald Tr

Talibama

Since late last year, at least a dozen states have passed anti-abortion legislation, making it more difficult for women to have much choice on what to do with their bodies post-pregnancy, if any choice at all. This all came to a head this past week in Alabama, where abortion became illegal in just about every circumstance, with the lone exception of the mother's health being placed in jeopardy due to a pregnancy. Abortion is illegal in cases of rape, incest, and doctors whom perform the procedure could face up to 99 years in prison. The bill was passed by the final tally of 25-6. All 25 "aye" votes were made by white Republican men. This comes on the heels of such legislation being passed in: Arkansas, Georgia, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Tennessee, with Missouri passing a similar bill just after Alabama did. In these 12 states, there were a total of 350 "ayes," compared to just 109 "nays" (76.3% passin

The Overhyped Zion

It's difficult for me to feel a great deal of sympathy for an 18-year-old kid who's about to become the first pick in the NBA draft and sign a multi-million dollar contract as a result. However, in the case of Duke standout Zion Williamson, part of me does. I don't think I've heard as much hype surrounding an NBA prospect since LeBron James was drafted 1st by the Cleveland Cavaliers 16 years ago. Everywhere I turn, when the topic of the draft comes up, all I hear is: "It's Zion and everyone else.," "Whoever gets the 1st pick will be getting a transcendent player.," "Zion could transform any team he becomes a part of.," "With the addition of Zion, a team becomes a contender.," and so on and so on. For as impressive as Williamson was this past season, he played just one year of college basketball, is 18 years old, and is anything but a guaranteed success at the next level. Zion Williamson was largely successful in his lone

Outfoxing Fox

As long-time readers should know, I can't stand Fox News. Excluding Shepard Smith and Chris Wallace, Fox News talking heads are notorious for spreading BS. There's a good reason why Fox News sounds so similar to fake news . Having said that, though, I don't understand the Democratic Party's reluctance on presenting town halls there. One problem with the Democratic Party's electoral success at times has been their failure to reach out to rural, conservative-leaning Independent, and moderate Republican voters. No, it's not likely  Elizabeth Warren could be part of a Fox News-hosted town hall and be able to win over many regular viewers of the channel, but it couldn't hurt. Bernie Sanders, arguably the most liberal member of Congress, took part in a Fox News-hosted town hall not too long ago, and guess what? He received rave reviews. While I didn't hear any Fox News regulars yell out, "Bernie 2020!," I did hear several say something along the

Will Cain's Circle Game Obsession

Almost everyone I know has a love-hate relationship with at least one person. When it comes to ESPN talk show host Will Cain, however, my relationship with him doesn't even reach that status. It's more like a tolerate-hate relationship (no, not tolerate hate). This was on full display after Cain made his thoughts on the Chicago-Cubs-ban-a-fan-for-a-white-power-sign known. As most of the sports world knows by now, the Chicago Cubs decided to ban a fan for life after this individual showcased what was viewed as a white power sign behind MLB analyst and former player Doug Glanville, who happens to be black. After Cubs management allegedly investigated the matter, they decided the gesture was indeed intended to showcase a call to white supremacy, hence the lifetime ban. That didn't stop conservative host Will Cain from speaking contrarian, as he often times does. Cain contended that the gesture used by the fan was mainly used for four purposes: 1) A symbol for okay; 2) A si

A different perspective on income taxes

The older I get, the more I hear people complain about taxes. When you're a kid, you say, "Santa's going to bring me presents this year! I just know it!" When you're an adult, that sentiment transforms into, "There are only two guarantees in life: Death and taxes." Think about how much you thought and talked about taxes growing up. That didn't take long, did it? Same here. I doubt I even knew what taxes were until I reached middle or high school. Little did I realize taxes, from people I'd probably never interact with in my life, were largely responsible for my safety, transportation, and education, among other things. Sadly, I, like most kids, took these services for granted. In hindsight, I of course appreciate them more. Oddly enough, it seems many adults, while being as ignorant as I was about taxes and the benefits they provided growing up, either remain ignorant of said benefits or take on the selfish mindset of, "I got mine growing

Broke my Twitter "like" and "retweet" records!

I broke my all-time records over the weekend for the number of "likes" and "retweets" of a Twitter post. To this point, the tweet has generated 17,306 likes and 6,974 retweets. It reads as follows (and can be found here - https://twitter.com/CraigRozniecki/status/1126146183796285443 ): Matt Gaetz and Jim Jordan walk off as a Democrat talks about the importance of and standing by the Constitution. That's pretty representative of the GOP today - they just don't give a sh*t about this country. #ContemptOfCongress #BillionDollarLoser To check out all my other posts on Twitter, just go to this link:  https://twitter.com/CraigRozniecki

Twitter trending-hashtag posts (4/22 - 5/12)

As I've been doing every couple of weeks or so, I thought I'd share the fun I've been having with regard to trending hashtags on Twitter. Here are my posts from April 22nd through May 12th, ordered from the most to the least popular (all my tweets can be viewed here - https://twitter.com/CraigRozniecki ): 1) Matt Gaetz and Jim Jordan walk off as a Democrat talks about the importance of and standing by the Constitution. That's pretty representative of the GOP today - they just don't give a sh*t about this country. #ContemptOfCongress #BillionDollarLoser 17,306 Likes, 6,973 Retweets 2) Two of Trump's main go-tos during his campaign: 1) "I tell it like it is." The guy has lied 10,000+ times in half a term. 2) "I know how to make money better than anyone." He lost over $1 billion in 10 years - more than anyone else. Your president, Trumpsters! #TrumpTaxes 1,552 Likes, 604 Retweets 3) Trump: "I ask my daddy for a $500 million

Mueller Time: Less Filling or Tastes Great?

The Mueller report has become like the Bible, where most people seem to cherry-pick scriptures which support their agenda, and fail to stand back and see the larger picture. This has especially been the case with the most ardent of Trump supporters. Robert Mueller was appointed as Special Counsel to investigate Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. His 2-year investigation resulted in 34 indictments, which included several Russian nationals and Trump aides/advisors. This has led to multiple guilty pleas and verdicts, and with that, prison time. The most striking conclusion in the Mueller report is that Russia did heavily interfere in our election and it will likely happen again unless we do something about it. Did Russia's interference ultimately determine the election's outcome? That's impossible to conclude with any degree of certainty at the moment. What's not difficult to conclude, however, is that Russian interference did impact the 2016 electio
