About a month ago I let readers know I was going through some health issues, and due to that, would likely be limited in my writing capability, but that I would get back to it as soon as possible. Fast-forward a little over a month, and I'm still not fully well, but am showing some signs of improvement. I've gone in to see a nurse practitioner twice, as well as a cardiologist. The cardiologist, for the time being at least, doesn't think the matter is heart-related, so that's a good thing. The doctors, for the most part, appear to believe it's anxiety-related, so they've been guessing-and-checking with different medications and dosages. Outside of a couple weeks during the summer when I was suffering from foot pain, I hadn't been prescribed anything for 4-5 years, so my body definitely hasn't fully adjusted to the changes yet. It's been an incredibly bumpy, frustrating, and frightening process for my family and I, but I'm (we're all) greatly hoping the matter gets sorted soon, I can feel like my old self again, and we can all get on with our "normal" lives before long. Thanks for your patience. There are days when I feel fully capable of writing and other days when it's difficult to get out of bed, let alone sit down at the computer and write for an extended period of time. I sincerely hope I'll be back in my old form soon and have plenty of interesting and/or humorous stories to share. Also, thanks for the thoughts and prayers. My family and I greatly appreciate it. We're just crossing our fingers that this difficult chapter is but a thing of the past very soon, and that the next chapter is a much brighter one.
I love music and enjoy hitting the bar(s) over the weekend, so naturally, when the mood strikes me, I've never been coy about playing some songs on the jukebox. This past Thursday, a friend of mine turned 50, so several friends of her's, including myself, all met up to celebrate the occasion. At around 9:30, a friend of mine and I both chipped in $5 to play some songs on the jukebox. Four hours and 231 skips later, we gave up on hearing the songs we had selected, and went home knowing we had just wasted $5. This wasn't the first time such a thing had happened to me (and many others), and due to that, I'll be boycotting jukeboxes. Why? The scam known as TouchTunes. You see, here's how the plot typically breaks down. A person (or group of people) downloads the TouchTunes app on his/her phone, consumes one too many adult beverages, and due to this, has less care for spending extra money to hear the songs of their choosing right NOW. That's the thing with TouchTun
