Donald Trump Lied 123 Times During His Acceptance Speech!

Since I couldn't do it in real time, I decided to look through the transcript of Donald Trump's recent acceptance speech and fact-check it. Read it and weep.

1) “For her incredible service to our nation and its children, I want to think our magnificent First Lady.”

Newsflash: Uttering the words “Be Best” doesn’t do shit for our nation or children.

2) “I know my brother Robert is looking down on us right now from heaven.”

Since this can’t literally be known, it is literally a lie. Next…

3) “In a new term as president, we will again build the greatest economy in history, quickly returning to full employment, soaring incomes and record prosperity.”

You didn’t build the “greatest economy in history” the first time, so try again…

4-6) “We are delivering life-saving therapies and will produce a vaccine before the end of the year, or maybe even sooner.”

First, no you’re not. Recommendations on consuming poison don’t constitute as life-saving therapies. A vaccine – at least a safe and potentially reliable one – won’t be available by the end of the year. Oh, and it’s impossible for an unreleased vaccine to be made available years before its made available.

7) “They knew that our country’s blessed by God and has a special purpose in this world.”

Nobody knows that, not even you. So, yeah, that’s a lie.

8) “This election will decide whether we save the American dream or whether we allow a socialist agenda to demolish our cherished destiny.”

If he’s referring to Democrats as socialist, it’s apparent he doesn’t know what “socialism” actually means. If he’s referring to Republicans as corporate socialist, he’d be right. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say he’s referring to the former, so, lie.

9) “Instead, they [Democrats] see a wicked nation that must be punished for its sins.”

Okay, first off, no. However, since Donald Trump seems to be emblematic of the seven deadly sins and Democrats want to vote him out, I suppose he could contend they want to punish him. Since he’s not America, though, on a grander scale, his argument holds no merit.

10) “Our opponents say that redemption for you can only come from giving power to them.”

Equality for the people is not power to the government.

11) “Joe Biden is not a savior of America’s soul; he is the destroyer of America’s jobs, and if given the chance will be the destroyer of American greatness.”

In the 8 years Obama and Biden led this country, unemployment deceased from 10.0%, at the peak of the Great Recession, to 4.7% when Trump took over the reigns. If that’s “destroying” jobs, my name is Melissa Etheridge.

12) “Joe Biden spent his entire career outsourcing their dreams and the dreams of American workers, offshoring their jobs, opening their borders and sending their sons and daughters to fight in endless foreign wars, wars that never ended.”

His entire career? That may be stretching things JUST a tad…

13) “But at my strong urging, they [NATO partners] agreed to pay $130 billion more a year the first time in over 20 years that they upped their payments.”

That’s indirect funding…

14) “From the moment I left my former life behind – and it was a good life – I have done nothing but fight for you.”

If he had been speaking in front of nothing but a mirror, this claim would have been 100% accurate, but he wasn’t.

15) “We passed record-setting tax and regulation cuts at a rate nobody had ever seen before.”

Here’s a good rule of thumb: whenever Trump says “record” or “record-setting,” it’s false.

16) “Within three short years, we built the strongest economy in the history of the world.”

Superlatives never do anything but acknowledge you’re being dishonest.

17) “We took the toughest, boldest, strongest and hardest-hitting action against China in American history so far.”

See response to #16.

18) “But I refused to back down, and today America’s borders are more secure than ever before.”

It’s truly sad that if Donald Trump’s name were Mr. Hyperbole, he’d likely be unable to pronounce or spell it.

19-20) “And we have deported 20,000 gang members and 500,000 criminal aliens.”

That first number is closer to 16,000 and the latter number appears to be missing a dollar sign, as Trump has recently announced that he wants to impose $500,000 fines to illegal immigrants.

21-22) “We have already built 300 miles of border wall, and we are adding 10 new miles every single week.”

That’s 3 new miles of border wall. Since there have been just 3 new miles of border wall built in 3+ years, I think it’s pretty safe to say 10 new miles of border wall aren’t being built every week.

23-24) “And signed orders that massively lower the cost of your prescription drugs and give critically ill patients access to life-saving cures.”

False on both counts.

25-26) “We also passed the VA Accountability and VA Choice.”

Those were actually both passed under Obama.

27) “Our great veterans, we’re taking care of our veterans.”

No, you’re not.

28) “First time anything like that’s ever happened.”

Bullshit.

29) “By the end of my first term, we will have approved more than 300 federal judges, including two great, new Supreme Court justices.”

He better hurry up, because he still has 100 left to go before reaching the magical number!

30-31) “And I say very modestly that I have done more for the African-American community than any president since Abraham Lincoln, our first Republican president.”

He apparently doesn’t know what “modestly” means. Also, Lyndon Johnson signed the 1964 Civil Rights Act.

32) “And I have done more in three years for the Black community than Joe Biden has done in 47 years.”

Wrong preposition. I think he meant “to” the Black community.

33) “And opened it [Jerusalem embassy] at a cost of less than $500,000.”

This is misleading as he’s conflating this temporary embassy with a permanent one, which is estimated to cost in the hundreds of millions.

34) “In addition, we obliterated 100 percent of the ISIS caliphate and killed its founder and leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.”

Considering there are still ISIS members in existence, I have a difficult time seeing ISIS as 100% destroyed.

35-36) “Unlike previous administrations I have kept America out of new wars, and our troops are coming home.”

Twitter wars much? …and actually, no, they aren’t coming home yet, so stop saying that.

37) “We have spent nearly $2.5 trillion on completely rebuilding our military, which was badly depleted when I took office, as you know.”

Give me a break; it wasn’t badly depleted. Jebus…

38) “We have spent the last four years reversing the damage Joe Biden inflicted over the last 47 years.”

What, does he think the former Vice President has been in the Oval Office for the past five decades? The guy is seriously demented.

39) “He [Biden] has spent his entire career on the wrong side of history.”

No.

40) “Biden voted for the NAFTA disaster, the single-worst trade deal ever enacted.”

Hyperbole is truly this guy’s native tongue.

41) “He [Biden] supported China’s entry into the World Health Organization, one of the greatest economic disasters of all time.”

See above.

42) “China would own our country if Joe Biden got elected.”

What, like they own us now? …or is it Russia that owns us now? Whatever, China won’t own us any more under Biden than they already do under Trump.

43) “They [China] could have stopped it [COVID] but they allowed it to come out.”

Say what?

44) “And when the China Virus hit, we launched the largest national mobilization since World War II, invoking the Defense Production Act.”

This invocation wasn’t immediate, and when the act was invoked, it wasn’t implemented.

45) “Not a single American who has needed a ventilator has been denied a ventilator, which is a miracle.”

It indeed would be a miracle, considering it’s not true.

46) “We shipped hundreds of millions of masks, gloves and gowns to our front-line healthcare workers.”

This isn’t entirely true, as so many of our healthcare workers were either having to go an entire day wearing one mask or risking their lives to an even greater degree by being unable to wear masks at all.

47) “To protect our nation’s seniors we rushed supplies, testing kits and personal … to nursing homes, we gave everything you can possibly give and we’re still giving it because we’re taking care of our senior citizens.”

Then why have nursing homes been hit so hard by the virus and you’re investigating Democratic governors for fatalities at such facilities?

48-49) “We developed from scratch the largest and most advanced testing system anywhere in the world.”

It’s not the largest and it’s not the most advanced, so you’re 0 for 2 here.

50) “We have conducted 40 million more tests than the next closest nation, which is India.”

It’s been reported China may have conducted more tests than the U.S.

51) “We developed a wide array of effective treatments including a powerful antibody treatment known as convalescent plasma.”

Said treatment has been around since 1910. Just sayin’.

52) “That [convalescent plasma] will save thousands and thousands of lives.”

This hasn’t been determined one way or the other, but is unlikely.

53) “Thanks to our Paycheck Protection Program, we have saved or supported more than 50 million American jobs.”

The actual number is between 1 million and 14 million, but close…

54) “Unfortunately, from the beginning our opponents have shown themselves capable of nothing but a partisan ability to criticize.”

Absolutes will get you absolutely nowhere.

55) “When I took bold action to issue a travel ban on China, very early indeed, Joe Biden called it hysterical and xenophobic.”

Psst, you didn’t actually issue a travel ban on China. Quit lying.

56) “And then I introduced a ban on Europe very early again.”

Not exactly…

57) “If we had listened to Joe, hundreds of thousands more Americans would have died.”

Hypothetical, but highly unlikely – especially considering Biden wanted to implement a nationwide shutdown, which doctors and scientists believe would have flattened the curve and we’d be looking at a normally-functioning society right about now.

58) “Instead of following the science, Joe Biden wants to inflict a painful shutdown on the entire country.”

Eh, that’s what science HAS been saying.

59) “The cost of the Biden shutdown would be measured in increased drug overdoses, depression, alcohol addiction, suicides, heart attacks, economic devastation, job loss and much more.”

The one time Donald Trump is at least somewhat specific and it’s regarding something which isn’t provable. Go figure.

60) “Joe Biden’s plan is not a solution to the virus, but, rather, it’s a surrender to the virus.”

How is believing in and being guided by science to stop the spread of a virus surrendering to the virus? According to this logic, every time you don’t stand in the way of a flying bullet, you’re surrendering to the gun.

61) “To save as many lives as possible, we are focusing on the science, the facts, and the data.”

This couldn’t be further from the truth.

62) “Most importantly, we are marshalling America’s scientific genius to produce a vaccine in record time.”

What?

63-64) “Under Operation Warp Speed, we have three different vaccines in the final stage of trials, right now, years ahead of what has been achieved before.”

I’m reading mixed reports on the first claim, as well as mixed reports on the second claim. Okay, so I’m reading mixed reports on both claims. The end.

65) “Nobody thought it could ever be done this fast.”

It hasn’t happened yet, so…

66) “Normally it would be years and we did it in a matter of a few months.”

Again, it hasn’t happened yet.

67) “We will have a safe and effective vaccine this year.”

Unfortunately, that is not at all likely.

68) “At the Democrat convention, you barely heard a word about their agenda.”

This would have been partially true in 2016, as studies showed Democrats spent more time at the DNC railing against Trump than promoting their policy ideas. Since that election, well, you know what happened… Hoping a change in strategy would bring about a change in results, recent studies showed speakers at the DNC focused more on their own policy ideas than on railing against Trump.

69) “But that’s not because they [Democrats] don’t have one; it’s because their agenda is the most extreme set of proposals ever put forward by a major party nominee.”

Really? More extreme than building a wall and having our neighbors to the South pay for it? More extreme than banning people due to their religious beliefs? More extreme than stripping women of their reproductive rights? More extreme than doing everything in your power to suppress votes? I don’t think so.

70-71) “He has pledged a $4 trillion tax hike on almost all American families, which will totally collapse our rapidly improving economy.”

The tax increase is said to be for people with incomes over $400,000. In other words, when Trump says this tax would impact almost all families, it would impact almost no families. Oh, and if we use history as our guide, tax increases on the wealthiest tends to do anything but collapse the economy.

72) “And once again, record stock markets that we have right now will also collapse.”

Once again, no.

73) “My agenda is ‘Made in the USA.’”

Tell that to your hats.

74) “Biden has promised to abolish the production of American oil, coal, shale and natural gas, laying waste to the economies of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Texas, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Colorado, and New Mexico, destroying those states.”

He has said this, let alone promised this.

75) “Millions of jobs will be lost.”

No.

76) “Energy prices will soar.”

No again.

77) “Massive numbers [illegal immigrants] will pour into our country in order to get all of the goodie that they want to get, education, healthcare, everything.”

For the record, illegal immigrants are ineligible for most of these “goodies.”

78) “And he’s [Biden] even talking about taking the wall down.”

He actually hasn’t said this. He’s stated that he doesn’t plan on adding any more construction to the wall, but that’s not the same as tearing down the wall. Potatoes, zucchinis…

79) “Biden also vowed to oppose school choice and close all charter schools, ripping away the ladder of opportunity for Black and Hispanic children.”

Surprise, surprise, Biden never said this either.

80) “And we [Trump Administration] will always treat our teachers with the tremendous respect that they deserve.”

We all know that’s a lie…

81) “Yet the party he [Biden] leads supports the extreme late-term abortion of defenseless babies right until the moment of birth.”

This is patently false too.

82) “Democrat leaders talk about moral decency, but they have no problem with stopping a baby’s beating heart in the ninth month of pregnancy.”

Ditto to response #81.

83) “Democrat politicians refuse to protect innocent life and then lecture us about morality and saving America’s soul.”

You mean like gun-violence victims? COVID victims? Unarmed black people getting shot in the back by police officers? Etc.?

84) “During the Democrat Convention, the words ‘under God’ were removed from the Pledge of Allegiance, not once, but twice.”

This never happened during the nationally-televised portions of the convention.

85) “We will never do that.”

You have done that, though, prior to 1954, when the words “under God” were implemented.

86-88) “If the left gains power they will demolish the suburbs, confiscate your guns and appoint justices who will wipe away your Second Amendment and other constitutional freedoms.”

Demolish the suburbs? What, like with some tanks? Confiscate your guns? Like they did under Obama? Appoint justices who will wipe away your Second Amendment? Why would they need to do that, since they’ve already confiscated people’s guns?

89) “Biden is a trojan horse for socialism.”

That’s a good one.

90) “When asked if he supports cutting police funding, Joe Biden replied, ‘Yes, absolutely.’”

No, he absolutely didn’t.

91) “He [Biden] proudly displayed it [Omar’s claim that the Minnesota Police Department was a cancer] shortly later on his website.”

I’m not finding anything on this, so I’m going to presume it’s false.

92) “Make no mistake, if you give power to Joe Biden, the radical left will defund police departments all across America.”

Biden has flat out said he opposes defunding the police.

93) “They will pass federal legislation to reduce law enforcement nationwide.”

Again, false.

94) “They will make every city look like Democrat-run Portland, Oregon.”

This is literally impossible.

95) “No one will be safe in Biden’s America.”

Really? We are currently in Trump’s America. Trump says America is in shambles. Yet we’ll only be in shambles if Biden is elected to take over Trump’s America? WTF?!?

96) “If they [police] were allowed to do their job, you’d have no crime in New York.”

That’s not true at all, actually.

97) “Rudy Giuliani knows that better than anybody.”
That’s not true either.

98) “There’s violence and danger in the streets of many Democrat-run cities throughout America.”

Crime has been down across the country since the Obama years and 12 of the 15 most dangerous states were won by Trump in 2016. Besides that, he’s right on the mark…

99) “All federal crimes are being investigated, prosecuted and punished to the fullest extent of the law.”

We know that’s not true, for if that were the case, Trump would be behind bars.

100) “10 years in prison, and it was a miracle, it all stopped – no more statues.”

So then everything’s fine then? I thought you said everything wasn’t fine. Make up your mind!

101) “Now they’re [Democrats] starting to mention it [protesters/looting] because their poll numbers are going down like a rock in water.”

Biden’s lead heading into the conventions was 7.8% and now it’s 9.0%. Call that whatever you’d like, but reality doesn’t call it “going down like a rock in water,” no matter how poetic those words might be.

102) “As long as I am president, we will defend the absolute right of every American citizen to live in security, dignity and peace.”

He’s so full of shit…

103) “The top 10 most dangerous cities in the country are run by Democrats and have been for many decades.”

Again, 12 of the 15 most dangerous states voted Trump in 2016.

104) “Joe Biden and the Left ignore these American victims [African-Americans]; I never will.”

Is this supposed to be some kind of a joke?

105) “But who exactly is attacking them [American institutions]? … In every case attacks on American institutions are being waged by radical left.”

That’s the exact opposite of what is happening.

106) “And it’s been going on from before I even got elected.”

Wrong.

107-108) “And remember this, they spied on my campaign and they got caught.”

One, they never spied on your campaign. Two, they couldn’t get caught, because of #1.

109) “The goal of cancel culture is to make decent Americans live in fear of being fired, expelled, shamed, humiliated and driven from society as we know it.”

No, that’s not it at all, really. The goal is to try and promote equality and decent treatment of fellow humans.

110) “The far Left wants to coerce you into saying what you know to be false and scare you out of saying what you know to be true.”

Wait, so suggesting people shouldn’t call members of the LGBT community f*gs is a bad thing, because it’s apparently right to refer to said members as that derogatory term? Okay then…

111) “Joe Biden is weak.”

His record suggests otherwise.

112) “He [Biden] takes marching orders from liberal hypocrites who drive their cities into the ground while fleeing far from the scene of the wreckage.”

You mean like you’ve done in Washington, before hiding in your bunker?

113) “These same liberals want to eliminate school choice while they enroll their children in the finest private schools in the land.”

Once again, this is false.

114) “They [Biden/Democrats] want to defund the police while they have armed guards for themselves.”

Biden has said time and time again he does NOT support defunding the police.

115) “We’ll ensure equal justice for citizens of every race, religion, color and creed.”

There’s no way in hell this is going to happen.

116) “And if we don’t win, your Second Amendment doesn’t have a chance.”

You say that every four years, and every four years, you’re proven wrong.

117) “We will protect Medicare and Social Security.”

Your history and policy ideas suggest otherwise.

118) “We will always and very strongly protect patients with pre-existing conditions.”

You’re currently trying to end said protection by repealing the Affordable Care Act.

119) “They’re [health insurance premiums] coming way down.”

No, they’re actually not.

120) “And for those of you that still drive a car, look how low your gasoline bill is.”

We don’t get monthly gasoline bills for our vehicles, you twit.

121) “We will fully restore patriotic education to our schools and always protect – we will always, always protect free speech on college campuses.”

How can you both protect free speech and force “patriotic” education?

122) “Our opponents believe that America is a depraved nation.”

False.

123) “America is the greatest and most exceptional nation in the history of the world.”

Prove it…

Boycotting jukeboxes because of TouchTunes

I love music and enjoy hitting the bar(s) over the weekend, so naturally, when the mood strikes me, I've never been coy about playing some songs on the jukebox. This past Thursday, a friend of mine turned 50, so several friends of her's, including myself, all met up to celebrate the occasion. At around 9:30, a friend of mine and I both chipped in $5 to play some songs on the jukebox. Four hours and 231 skips later, we gave up on hearing the songs we had selected, and went home knowing we had just wasted $5. This wasn't the first time such a thing had happened to me (and many others), and due to that, I'll be boycotting jukeboxes. Why? The scam known as TouchTunes. You see, here's how the plot typically breaks down. A person (or group of people) downloads the TouchTunes app on his/her phone, consumes one too many adult beverages, and due to this, has less care for spending extra money to hear the songs of their choosing right NOW. That's the thing with TouchTun

The difference between "looking" and "checking out"

I may be way off with these numbers, but it's my approximation that at least 75% of individuals whom are involved in a serious relationship feel it's perfectly acceptable to "check out" members of the opposite sex they're not involved with. Meanwhile, approximately 25% either don't feel this is acceptable or aren't sure about the matter. I hadn't thought about this matter for a while, but since I've been dating a woman for about 8 months, the topic has been pondered about some. When reading or hearing others discuss this very issue, I often times hear comments similar to the following: "It's human nature to look." "There's nothing wrong with checking others out. I'm sure he/she does it too!" "It's fine to do it. Just don't tell your boyfriend/girlfriend about it or do it in front of them!" "It's natural to find people attractive." When observing the array of comments, I i

The verdict is in. To no one's surprise, Jonathan Hoenig has been found guilty of being an idiot.

Just recently, when discussing the Michael Brown shooting and whether or not race had anything to do with it, Fox News contributor Jonathan Hoenig said, "You know who talks about race? Racists." One moment while I provide Mr. Hoenig with the well deserved slow-clap. :: slow-claps for two seconds :: So, that was quite the line by Mr. Hoenig, wasn't it? "You know who talks about race? Racists." Well, wasn't he just talking about race? So, by his own words, I guess that makes him a racist. Also, if he wants to be consistent, does this mean that people whom talk about gender are sexists and people whom talk about sexual orientation are homophobes? With that line of thinking, Hoenig would engage in the following back-and-forths: Hoenig: "So, who are you voting for?" A woman: "The Democratic candidate, because he's been adamant about his support for equal rights for women." Hoenig: "You sexist feminist nazi!"
