Greg Gianforte: "Retirement is for pussies!"

Allow me to introduce everyone to Greg Gianforte. He's a multi-millionaire tech entrepreneur who may very well challenge Montana Governor Steve Bullock (Democrat) in the 2016 election.

So, what's the early talk surrounding this potential Republican gubernatorial candidate? Oh, just the following quote he gave at the Montana Bible College in February:

"There's nothing in the Bible that talks about retirement. And yet it's been an accepted concept in our culture today. Nowhere does it say, 'Well, he was a good and faithful servant, so he went to the beach.' It doesn't say that anywhere. The example I think is Noah. How old was Noah when he built the ark? 600. He wasn't like, cashing Social Security checks, he wasn't hanging out, he was working. So, I think we have an obligation to work. The role we have in work may change over time, but the concept of retirement is not biblical."

Given that quote, Mr. Gianforte is bound to be loved by people of all parties. He should start creating bumper stickers now, which say:

- "Vote Gianforte and you'll live til your 600!"

- "Vote Gianforte if you think retirement is the new 'r' word"

- "Retirement is for Pussies - Vote Gianforte 2016"

While Mr. Let's-Apply-Everything-From-A-Book-Written-Over-3,000-Years-Ago-To-Today is at it, he might as well say the following:

- "There's no reason for women to have authority over men. Women should do what they were born to do and remain silent! Be pretty, shut-up, spread your legs once in a while, and stop it with this sexist garbage!"

- "Divorce is adultery and remarrying is adultery, so no one shall ever get divorced or remarry! Rush Limbaugh and Newt Gingrich are the lone exceptions!"

- "If you were born out of wedlock, you shall not be allowed in any church! ...but God still loves you..."

- "If a married man dies and this man has a brother, that brother must marry his wife! Sister? Lover? What's the difference?"

- "If anyone ever steals something from you, he shall keep it, and you shall give him something else! But I still believe in the stand your ground law when people try to take something from you!"

Yeah, in response to the multimillionaire's quote, all I have to say is the Bible didn't say anything about electing Greg Gianforte for governor of Montana, so using his mindset against him, the man shouldn't be elected governor of Montana.

Boycotting jukeboxes because of TouchTunes

I love music and enjoy hitting the bar(s) over the weekend, so naturally, when the mood strikes me, I've never been coy about playing some songs on the jukebox. This past Thursday, a friend of mine turned 50, so several friends of her's, including myself, all met up to celebrate the occasion. At around 9:30, a friend of mine and I both chipped in $5 to play some songs on the jukebox. Four hours and 231 skips later, we gave up on hearing the songs we had selected, and went home knowing we had just wasted $5. This wasn't the first time such a thing had happened to me (and many others), and due to that, I'll be boycotting jukeboxes. Why? The scam known as TouchTunes. You see, here's how the plot typically breaks down. A person (or group of people) downloads the TouchTunes app on his/her phone, consumes one too many adult beverages, and due to this, has less care for spending extra money to hear the songs of their choosing right NOW. That's the thing with TouchTun...

The difference between "looking" and "checking out"

I may be way off with these numbers, but it's my approximation that at least 75% of individuals whom are involved in a serious relationship feel it's perfectly acceptable to "check out" members of the opposite sex they're not involved with. Meanwhile, approximately 25% either don't feel this is acceptable or aren't sure about the matter. I hadn't thought about this matter for a while, but since I've been dating a woman for about 8 months, the topic has been pondered about some. When reading or hearing others discuss this very issue, I often times hear comments similar to the following: "It's human nature to look." "There's nothing wrong with checking others out. I'm sure he/she does it too!" "It's fine to do it. Just don't tell your boyfriend/girlfriend about it or do it in front of them!" "It's natural to find people attractive." When observing the array of comments, I i...
