Republicans are always opponents of tax increases, unless it deals with Herman Cain's 9-9-9 plan, which would increase taxes for 83.8% of the population...

Yeah, that's right. The arguable front-runner to become the Republican nominee for the 2012 presidential election's tax plan would increase taxes for 83.8% of this country. Republicans recently voted down the American Jobs Act, which would have resulted in a raise of taxes for the top 1-2%, meaning that 98-99% of the country would be unaffected. In Cain's plan, those making anywhere from under $10,000 to $200,000 would see a mean tax hike of $3,381.75, a 950% spike for those making between $10,000 and $20,000 a year. For those making between $200,000 and over $1,000,000? They'd see a mean tax cut of $175,297, including a $455,247 tax cut for those making over $1,000,000.

That's right, folks. The anti-tax party, also know as the Republican Party, is a strong opponent of a plan which would increase taxes on the 1-2% wealthiest in this country while leaving 98-99% unscathed, yet support a plan which would increase taxes on the bottom 84%, with the top 16% being the beneficiaries of the plan.

I've got to hand it to the GOP. They have quite the clever little scheme going on here. They've beaten into the heads of this nation that the Democratic Party are the tax-happy party. When Democrats proposed to increase taxes on the top 1-2%, then the GOP went on to say, "You see? We told you so! They're raising your taxes!" Eh, 1-2% of them. They forgot to mention that little detail. But, here they are, having the public believe the Democrats are tax-happy, while they're anti-tax and then supporting a bill which would results in tax increases for over 4/5 of the population and only benefiting those most well off.

As the studies' results (non-partisan ones at that) have just been released, I really can't wait for the news stations, newspapers, politicians and late night talk show hosts (Stewart and Colbert, in particular) beat this tax plan into the ground. Hopefully people will start listening to what the catchy 9-9-9 is about and how it will effect them, with over 4/5 of them having to pay more in taxes.

As can be deduced, the Republican Party is full of math scholars:

1) We hate taxes.

2) We will never vote for a tax increase.

3) Case and point... We will note vote for a bill which increases taxes on 1-2% of the country, while leaving 98-99% of it unscathed. The number left unscathed must be 100%!

4) We support a plan which increases taxes on 84% of the population, while benefiting the top 16%.

Yup... the GOP is all about mathematics and consistency.

Boycotting jukeboxes because of TouchTunes

I love music and enjoy hitting the bar(s) over the weekend, so naturally, when the mood strikes me, I've never been coy about playing some songs on the jukebox. This past Thursday, a friend of mine turned 50, so several friends of her's, including myself, all met up to celebrate the occasion. At around 9:30, a friend of mine and I both chipped in $5 to play some songs on the jukebox. Four hours and 231 skips later, we gave up on hearing the songs we had selected, and went home knowing we had just wasted $5. This wasn't the first time such a thing had happened to me (and many others), and due to that, I'll be boycotting jukeboxes. Why? The scam known as TouchTunes. You see, here's how the plot typically breaks down. A person (or group of people) downloads the TouchTunes app on his/her phone, consumes one too many adult beverages, and due to this, has less care for spending extra money to hear the songs of their choosing right NOW. That's the thing with TouchTun

The difference between "looking" and "checking out"

I may be way off with these numbers, but it's my approximation that at least 75% of individuals whom are involved in a serious relationship feel it's perfectly acceptable to "check out" members of the opposite sex they're not involved with. Meanwhile, approximately 25% either don't feel this is acceptable or aren't sure about the matter. I hadn't thought about this matter for a while, but since I've been dating a woman for about 8 months, the topic has been pondered about some. When reading or hearing others discuss this very issue, I often times hear comments similar to the following: "It's human nature to look." "There's nothing wrong with checking others out. I'm sure he/she does it too!" "It's fine to do it. Just don't tell your boyfriend/girlfriend about it or do it in front of them!" "It's natural to find people attractive." When observing the array of comments, I i

The verdict is in. To no one's surprise, Jonathan Hoenig has been found guilty of being an idiot.

Just recently, when discussing the Michael Brown shooting and whether or not race had anything to do with it, Fox News contributor Jonathan Hoenig said, "You know who talks about race? Racists." One moment while I provide Mr. Hoenig with the well deserved slow-clap. :: slow-claps for two seconds :: So, that was quite the line by Mr. Hoenig, wasn't it? "You know who talks about race? Racists." Well, wasn't he just talking about race? So, by his own words, I guess that makes him a racist. Also, if he wants to be consistent, does this mean that people whom talk about gender are sexists and people whom talk about sexual orientation are homophobes? With that line of thinking, Hoenig would engage in the following back-and-forths: Hoenig: "So, who are you voting for?" A woman: "The Democratic candidate, because he's been adamant about his support for equal rights for women." Hoenig: "You sexist feminist nazi!"
