According to Bachmann, homosexuals are the real bullies!

While Minnesota Congresswoman and lead candidate to star as Linda Blair's character in a remake of The Exorcist - Michele Bachmann - won't be running for re-election, she's decided to let the crazy words fly for as long as she's still in office.

After Arizona Governor Jan Brewer vetoed SB 1062 late last month, which would have allowed professionals to refuse service or employment to individuals due to their religious beliefs (::cough:: gays ::cough::), Bachmann decided to make the following statement on the matter when speaking to conservative radio host Lars Larson this past weekend during the CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference):

"There's nothing about gays in there. But the gay community decided to make this their measure. I think the thing that is getting a little tiresome, the gay community, they have so bullied the American people, and they've so intimidated politicians. The politicians fear them, so that they think they get to dictate agenda everywhere."

Right...

Stat: In at least portions of 29 different states, people can be fired for being homosexual.

Bachmann: "...I think the thing that is getting a little tiresome, the gay community, they have so bullied the American people, and they've so intimidated politicians. The politicians fear them, so that they think they get to dictate agenda everywhere."

Stat: Gay marriage is currently illegal in 33 states.

Bachmann: "...I think the thing that is getting a little tiresome, the gay community, they have so bullied the American people, and they've so intimidated politicians. The politicians fear them, so that they think they get to dictate agenda everywhere."

Stat: Only 16 states always permit joint gay adoptions.

Bachman: "...I think the thing that is getting a little tiresome, the gay community, they have so bullied the American people, and they've so intimidated politicians. The politicians fear them, so that they think they get to dictate agenda everywhere."

Stat: A full 20 states don't include sexual orientation in their hate crime laws (that number increases to 35 when we include gender identity).

Bachmann: "...I think the thing that is getting a little tiresome, the gay community, they have so bullied the American people, and they've so intimidated politicians. The politicians fear them, so that they think they get to dictate agenda everywhere."

When a homosexual "bully" can get fired in portions of 58% of the states for being homosexual, can't legally marry in 66% of the states, can only be guaranteed a joint adoption with his or her partner in 32% of the states, and isn't protected of a hate crime in 40% of the states, that person isn't a bully. He's/She's the person who has been bullied and is simply fighting back. Bachmann and her ilk have bullied the LGBT community for years upon years. The fact that those whom they tried to kick while they were down for so long are finally getting up, dusting themselves off, and standing toe-to-toe with their opponents - looking them square in the eyes without the hint of a blink - isn't an act of bullying. It's an act of courage. Bachmann and her like better get used to it, or perhaps run off into the distance, because the fight has just begun, and they're getting more outnumbered by the day.

Boycotting jukeboxes because of TouchTunes

I love music and enjoy hitting the bar(s) over the weekend, so naturally, when the mood strikes me, I've never been coy about playing some songs on the jukebox. This past Thursday, a friend of mine turned 50, so several friends of her's, including myself, all met up to celebrate the occasion. At around 9:30, a friend of mine and I both chipped in $5 to play some songs on the jukebox. Four hours and 231 skips later, we gave up on hearing the songs we had selected, and went home knowing we had just wasted $5. This wasn't the first time such a thing had happened to me (and many others), and due to that, I'll be boycotting jukeboxes. Why? The scam known as TouchTunes. You see, here's how the plot typically breaks down. A person (or group of people) downloads the TouchTunes app on his/her phone, consumes one too many adult beverages, and due to this, has less care for spending extra money to hear the songs of their choosing right NOW. That's the thing with TouchTun...

Face guarding is legal in college football and the NFL

I just wanted to remind fans and announcers especially, that face guarding is legal in both college football and the NFL. It all comes down to contact. So long as a defender doesn't make contact with an intended receiver, he doesn't have to turn around to play the ball. I can't tell you how many times every week I hear announcers talk about face guarding being a penalty. It's not. I even heard one announcer yesterday state, "If the defender doesn't turn around and play the ball, the ref will call pass interference every time." That's simply not true. Courtesy of referee Bill LeMonnier, he says this with regard to the rule at the college level (answered on 8/12/13): "NCAA rules on pass interference require the face guarding to have contact to be a foul. No contact, no foul by NCAA rules." In the NFL rule book, this is written:  "Actions that constitute defensive pass interference include but are not limited to: (a) Contact by a ...
