Welcome to I Feel Snitty, episode 85, entitled, “Make America Sane Again.” I’m your host, Craig Rozniecki.

It’s here. The day has finally arrived. We’ve been waiting 4 years for this. It is election day.

Every 4 years around this time, we’re hyperbolically told this is the most important election in a generation. Well, make no mistake about it, and no hyperbole here, this is THE most important election in our lifetimes – quite possibly the most important election in U.S. history.

It’s been reported by his former personal lawyer – Michael Cohen – that Donald Trump had no actual interest in becoming president when he announced his candidacy for the 2016 election. He was merely running to expand his brand, and through that, likely aid himself in ratings for a new show of his. He never expected to win, but knew the media would be following him around like a stalker with a condition called Literal Magnetism, so he figured after a few weeks of this, he’d drop out and be prime ready for his next gig. So, when he became the Republican Party’s nominee, it perhaps surprised no one more than Trump himself, and this opened him up to a whole new world of possibilities – both good and bad – he never thought of previously.

The fact of the matter is Donald Trump has had some extremely shady business dealings with Russia – meaning illegal – and due to that, Russian President Vladimir Putin has him by the Tic-Tacs. So, Putin has, in turn, used Trump as a pawn to sow discord in this country, to sow doubt in democracy, and through this, end American democracy – proving once and for all that this form of government is not sustainable.

Unfortunately, Putin has been quite successful with this strategy, at least until now. Regardless of what the right-wing talking heads say, it was proven by special counsel and registered Republican, Robert Mueller, that Russia did indeed interfere in the 2016 presidential election, and may very well have helped determine the outcome of it. Not only that, Donald Trump openly conspired with Russia on national television – basically telling them to hack into his opponent’s emails. Sure, Mueller couldn’t conclude one way or the other whether or not Trump had conspired with Russia, due to his ten counts of obstruction of justice, but him telling Russia on national television to hack into Hillary Clinton’s email account is evidence enough for me. Even through all this, and his electoral college “victory” – yes, I placed victory in quotes – Trump has declared that the election results were a hoax, because his opponent – Hillary Clinton – received approximately 3 million illegal votes. Trump lost the popular vote by 2.8 million, so yes, it seems quite coincidental that he would pull the number 3 million out his ass. Also, if his meddling in the 2016 election weren’t enough, Trump was impeached for attempting to rig the 2020 election by bribing Ukraine to dig dirt on his opponent, Joe Biden.

Not only did Putin and his bitch, Donald, sow doubt in our electoral process, but they’ve sown doubt in every one of this country’s long respected and trusted institutions. Donald Trump has called our intelligence agencies unreliable and corrupt. He’s attempted to dismantle the United States Postal Service. He’s called the media “the enemy of the people.” He’s referred to science as a “Chinese hoax.” He’s gone so far as to suggest, during this global pandemic, that doctors are documenting COVID cases and deaths just to make more money. The man, or more aptly coined – manbaby – has said to not believe what you see and hear, to only believe what he says.

Sadly, roughly one-third of the population now buys into this nonsense. They believe facts are liberal propaganda and debunked conspiracies are facts. They think Robert Mueller – again, a registered Republican – is a Democratic spy, whose sole intent it is to bring down fellow Republican, Donald Trump. They think the Democratic Party is led by child sex-traffickers named Jared and Fogle. They believe George Soros is paying every never-Trumper $1 trillion to simply tweet the words, “You can’t spell ‘Trump’ without ‘rump.’” Oh, and of the over 20,000 lies Donald Trump has uttered since he entered office, they believe every single one of them. These people now: don’t believe in our intelligence; don’t buy into science; don’t think facts are actually factual; think our elections are rigged; and are 100% convinced the entire world is out to get their leader – Donald J. Trump.

Putin and Trump have sown division all across this nation – even going so far as to incite violence in order to do so. Nowhere has this been more apparent and more dangerous than with regard to authority figures and the rule of law. Donald Trump has indicated – through both blatant and subtle means – that he and anyone who fights for him are above the law, while anyone who speaks against or investigates him should be imprisoned. This kind of mindset has further enflamed the race war, as Trump has deemed it perfectly acceptable for police to shoot unarmed black men, but an act of thuggery for African-Americans to protest the shooting of unarmed black men by police.

If all this weren’t bad enough, Trump’s list of accomplishments is underwhelming, to say the least. Let me rephrase that – his list of positive accomplishments is underwhelming. His tax cuts have not paid for themselves; they’ve exacerbated the Great Depression-level wage gap and increased the debt. Both the unemployment and uninsured rates are up. Financial regulations put into place to prevent another Great Recession have been repealed, as have environmental protections to slow or reverse climate-change. Gun laws have become more lax; allies have been shoved aside; dictatorial adversaries have been embraced; and before anyone tries to tell you otherwise, the Trump Administration is actively trying to strip healthcare coverage from those with pre-existing conditions. Oh, and in case you forgot, the guy lied to the American people about the COVID pandemic, which has now killed over 230,000 Americans, and still, 8 months after its inception, has no plan on how to deal with it.

Donald Trump doesn’t know what he’s doing. To put it bluntly, he’s an idiot, but is a survivalist. He has been set up throughout his life to succeed, and while he’s often failed, his I’m-a-god-who-will-fight-to-the-death attitude has brainwashed millions into believing his rhetoric and thinking they too can con their way to the top. Don’t let his repeated self-compliments fool you, though – he is not a successful businessman. He was born into wealth. His father seemingly provided him a weekly $1 million allowance for simply being able to properly place on his Velcro shoes. Not only that, Fred Trump surrounded his son with ample businesspeople, who knew all the ins and outs of the legal system – being able to use tax loopholes to their advantage. In spite of all this aid, Trump still managed to go bankrupt six times, lose $1 billion on at least one occasion, and was allegedly on the verge of personal bankruptcy before he began hosting The Apprentice. He doesn’t know the law. He doesn’t know the Constitution. He doesn’t know anything except how to lie; how to commit crimes; and who can help him get away with said crimes. He’s not running again for another 4 years in the White House; he’s running to stay out of the big house.

A little over 4 years ago, Donald Trump attempted to persuade voters to come to his side by asking the question, “What in the hell do you have to lose?” With millions unemployed; over 230,000 dead; chaos in the streets; and a democracy on the verge of becoming an autocracy, I think he’s answered that question, and there’s no way in hell we should allow him to answer his inevitable next question, which would be, “What in the hell more do you have to lose?”

This is it, folks. We’ve been waiting 4 years for this. Our time is now. If Donald Trump finds a way to get reselected, any semblance of democracy left in this country will disappear. The level of misinformation spread by right-wing talking heads, conspiracy websites, and defended by the president of the United States will exponentially increase to the point of no return. Our media will become further silenced. Our votes will become further suppressed. We will become the antithesis of our founders’ vision of this nation, in Donald Trump’s words – “a shithole country.” So, I don’t care who you are, where you’re located, or how long you have to stand in line, you get out there and vote. Rain or shine, you vote. In Birmingham, Alabama; Millard, Nebraska; or Seattle, Washington, you vote. Whether you’re 18 or 118, you vote. Don’t let Trump’s rhetoric or tweets frighten you. Don’t let Trump’s armed militias intimidate you. Don’t let Trump’s dismissal of the legitimacy of our electoral process sway you. You get out there and vote – if not for yourself or your children, for your country. Yes, vote like your lives depend on it, but also vote like your country’s life depends on it – for if Donald Trump is reselected, there will no longer be a United States of America; there will be a Confederate States of Russia. So, let us stand together with Lady Liberty; end this seemingly never-ending nightmare; and in unison, tell Donald Trump once and for all, “You’re fired.”

That’s it for today’s episode. I’ll see you again next week. Until then, you can check me out on Podbean, Twitter, Amazon, and Blogger. This has been I Feel Snitty with Craig Rozniecki. Take care.

Boycotting jukeboxes because of TouchTunes

I love music and enjoy hitting the bar(s) over the weekend, so naturally, when the mood strikes me, I've never been coy about playing some songs on the jukebox. This past Thursday, a friend of mine turned 50, so several friends of her's, including myself, all met up to celebrate the occasion. At around 9:30, a friend of mine and I both chipped in $5 to play some songs on the jukebox. Four hours and 231 skips later, we gave up on hearing the songs we had selected, and went home knowing we had just wasted $5. This wasn't the first time such a thing had happened to me (and many others), and due to that, I'll be boycotting jukeboxes. Why? The scam known as TouchTunes. You see, here's how the plot typically breaks down. A person (or group of people) downloads the TouchTunes app on his/her phone, consumes one too many adult beverages, and due to this, has less care for spending extra money to hear the songs of their choosing right NOW. That's the thing with TouchTun

The difference between "looking" and "checking out"

I may be way off with these numbers, but it's my approximation that at least 75% of individuals whom are involved in a serious relationship feel it's perfectly acceptable to "check out" members of the opposite sex they're not involved with. Meanwhile, approximately 25% either don't feel this is acceptable or aren't sure about the matter. I hadn't thought about this matter for a while, but since I've been dating a woman for about 8 months, the topic has been pondered about some. When reading or hearing others discuss this very issue, I often times hear comments similar to the following: "It's human nature to look." "There's nothing wrong with checking others out. I'm sure he/she does it too!" "It's fine to do it. Just don't tell your boyfriend/girlfriend about it or do it in front of them!" "It's natural to find people attractive." When observing the array of comments, I i

The verdict is in. To no one's surprise, Jonathan Hoenig has been found guilty of being an idiot.

Just recently, when discussing the Michael Brown shooting and whether or not race had anything to do with it, Fox News contributor Jonathan Hoenig said, "You know who talks about race? Racists." One moment while I provide Mr. Hoenig with the well deserved slow-clap. :: slow-claps for two seconds :: So, that was quite the line by Mr. Hoenig, wasn't it? "You know who talks about race? Racists." Well, wasn't he just talking about race? So, by his own words, I guess that makes him a racist. Also, if he wants to be consistent, does this mean that people whom talk about gender are sexists and people whom talk about sexual orientation are homophobes? With that line of thinking, Hoenig would engage in the following back-and-forths: Hoenig: "So, who are you voting for?" A woman: "The Democratic candidate, because he's been adamant about his support for equal rights for women." Hoenig: "You sexist feminist nazi!"
