I stumbled across another lovely right-wing site today...

So, I was just recently exposed to a website called Red Alert Politics. Yeah, take a wild guess which way this site leans...

I guess this is a site generated by young conservatives - conservatives under the age of 30. Judging by some of the articles I've read off the site, I'd guess that the average age of Red Alert Politics members are 14.29 years old, with a margin of error of +7.22 years (no, there's no minus).

Some of the recent articles go by the following names: "Bob Costas Continues To Bury Himself Over Anti-Gun Comments," "Anti-Obama Pizzeria 'Hate Crime' Allegation Has No Sauce," "Obama Expected To Push Gun Control In Second Term," "O'Reilly To Stossel: Most College Profs Are Liberal, We Need 'Affirmative Action For Conservative' Profs," etc.

For their "Liar of the Year" award, take a gander at Red Alert Politics' ten nominees:

"Harry Reid

David Axelrod

Joe Biden

Barack Obama

Debbie Wasserman Schultz

Rachel Maddow

Robert Gibbs

Chris Matthews

Stephanie Cutter

Nancy Pelosi"

That's right, folks - the ten biggest liars of the year are all Democrats, five of whom work directly under President Obama (including himself), two of whom are MSNBC talking heads, and the other three of whom are Democrats in Congress.

Am I going to sit here and say that none of these ten individuals have told a lie over the past year? No, of course not. I'll be the first to admit that all ten of them have exaggerated the truth on at least one occasion over the previous 365 days. However, do I feel that it's a tad ridiculous to only list these ten people as nominees for the all too coveted award - especially without providing any evidence to what lies were uttered by these them? Just a tad...

It humors, yet frustrates me to believe that there are some people whom take this site (and others like it) seriously. That'd be like if I created a site called RepublicansSuck.org, listed off ten Republicans for the Liar of the Year award, and pretended like I was unbiased and reputable.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm pretty liberal in my views. However, I'm not going to believe a story on a site called ThinkProgress unless I discover that the same report or claim was made by multiple other reputable news organizations. It'd be nice if more people, whether they be conservative, liberal, or moderate, took time to discover the truth, as opposed to just believing a biased source because they want to believe it.

Boycotting jukeboxes because of TouchTunes

I love music and enjoy hitting the bar(s) over the weekend, so naturally, when the mood strikes me, I've never been coy about playing some songs on the jukebox. This past Thursday, a friend of mine turned 50, so several friends of her's, including myself, all met up to celebrate the occasion. At around 9:30, a friend of mine and I both chipped in $5 to play some songs on the jukebox. Four hours and 231 skips later, we gave up on hearing the songs we had selected, and went home knowing we had just wasted $5. This wasn't the first time such a thing had happened to me (and many others), and due to that, I'll be boycotting jukeboxes. Why? The scam known as TouchTunes. You see, here's how the plot typically breaks down. A person (or group of people) downloads the TouchTunes app on his/her phone, consumes one too many adult beverages, and due to this, has less care for spending extra money to hear the songs of their choosing right NOW. That's the thing with TouchTun...

The difference between "looking" and "checking out"

I may be way off with these numbers, but it's my approximation that at least 75% of individuals whom are involved in a serious relationship feel it's perfectly acceptable to "check out" members of the opposite sex they're not involved with. Meanwhile, approximately 25% either don't feel this is acceptable or aren't sure about the matter. I hadn't thought about this matter for a while, but since I've been dating a woman for about 8 months, the topic has been pondered about some. When reading or hearing others discuss this very issue, I often times hear comments similar to the following: "It's human nature to look." "There's nothing wrong with checking others out. I'm sure he/she does it too!" "It's fine to do it. Just don't tell your boyfriend/girlfriend about it or do it in front of them!" "It's natural to find people attractive." When observing the array of comments, I i...
