Apparently Sean Hannity knows similes like Motley Crue groupies know abstinence, for he recently said this:
"Democrats, members of the destroy-Trump media will not stop pushing this phony Russia-Trump collusion narrative despite no evidence. This has now become, like, Russia-Trump conspiracy, birther conspiracies, you know? Sort of truthers."
No, they're not alike at all actually. It's not even an apples-and-oranges argument. It's more like an apples-and-Old-Country-Buffet argument. Sean Hannity, Donald Trump and other birthers felt that then President Barack Obama's birth certificate was forged. That claim was debunked time and time again, yet they still had doubts about its authenticity. There was never any FBI investigation on whether or not Obama was a legalized citizen of this country. There were never any hearings held by the Senate Intelligence Committee, where Obama Cabinet appointees were inquired about whether or not they had heard anything regarding the debunked claim that the former president had been born in Kenya. A special counsel was never appointed to delve deeper into the mystery that was Barack Obama's birth certificate. There was never serious chatter about possibly impeaching Obama due to the debunked theory that he was not born in this country. President Obama showcased his birth certificate; it was proven to not have been a forgery; and Hawaii even further proved this point by displaying the president's birth in a state newspaper. Like Keyser Soze would say, "...and like that, it (the conspiracy theory) was gone..."
That's not the case with Russiagate. It'd be a more accurate statement to say Russiagate is the antithesis of birtherism than to say the two are in any way similar. The FBI has gotten involved. The Senate Intelligence Committee has held hearings. A special counsel has been appointed. Trump and the rest of his inner-circle have hired lawyers. Donald Trump's personal lawyer has even hired an attorney. From the sounds of it, the investigation is just starting. So no, Mr. Hannity, Russiagate isn't like birther conspiracies. If anything, Russiagate is similar to Watergate, whereas birtherism is similar to me claiming Sean Hannity used to be a woman who went by the name Madea Spamalot. Like I said at the outset, Sean Hannity knows similes like Charlie Sheen knows sobriety.
