According to conservative commentator Star Parker, the pride and confederate flags are identical twins...

On Tuesday morning's episode of Fox & Friends on Fox News, conservative commentator Star Parker, when confronted about the Charlottesville Unite-the-Right rally over the weekend and President Donald Trump's response to it, said this to co-host Steve Doocey:

"That is not what happened. Nancy Pelosi is exploiting an opportunity that they think will play to their side. On Saturday, there were two sides that were in an American city that were - then it was escalating very rapidly. No, the question became then, well, do you denounce the one part of it? But you know what's really interesting and really incredible irony here is the same people that are demanding that the Confederate flag comes down are the same people that are insisting that the rainbow flag goes up. These two flags represent the exact same thing. That certain people groups are not welcome here. So if Nancy Pelosi wants to say that we're going to start shutting down First Amendment rights of a certain group of people, then what happens the next time that the homosexuals want to walk through an American city and protest and counter protesters come out?"

No, the incredible irony here is that Star Parker is a black woman criticizing a flag which symbolizes a demographic breaking free from oppression and comparing it to the Confederate flag.

The two flags couldn't be further apart than if one were stationed on Mercury and the other were placed on Neptune. Let's get something straight here, the Confederate flag may represent "history" or "heritage" to some, but what is that history? Hate, racism, violence, and slavery. Deny it all they'd like, that's what the flag symbolizes. It depicts a group of people who was regularly judged, persecuted, even killed due to the color of their skin. It showcases a group of people whose values run contrary to those established in the United States Constitution. It illustrates some civilians in this country who aren't ready to accept diversity and want to regress us to the day where straight white Christian men reigned supreme to everyone else. If anything, the pride flag is the antithesis of the Confederate flag, for instead of symbolizing oppression, it symbolizes a group of people fighting for equality and breaking free from oppression. While one flag represents the acceptance of hate, the other represents the acceptance of love. When reading Ms. Parker's asinine comments, I'm reminded of this scene from the film Twins:

Arnold Schwarzenegger: "I'm Julius and I'm your twin brother."

Danny DeVito: "Come again?"

Schwarzenegger: "We are not identical twins."

DeVito: "Oh no?!? I wouldn't be too sure, pal!"

Yeah, the pride and confederate flags are less identical than Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger...

Boycotting jukeboxes because of TouchTunes

I love music and enjoy hitting the bar(s) over the weekend, so naturally, when the mood strikes me, I've never been coy about playing some songs on the jukebox. This past Thursday, a friend of mine turned 50, so several friends of her's, including myself, all met up to celebrate the occasion. At around 9:30, a friend of mine and I both chipped in $5 to play some songs on the jukebox. Four hours and 231 skips later, we gave up on hearing the songs we had selected, and went home knowing we had just wasted $5. This wasn't the first time such a thing had happened to me (and many others), and due to that, I'll be boycotting jukeboxes. Why? The scam known as TouchTunes. You see, here's how the plot typically breaks down. A person (or group of people) downloads the TouchTunes app on his/her phone, consumes one too many adult beverages, and due to this, has less care for spending extra money to hear the songs of their choosing right NOW. That's the thing with TouchTun...

Trump's Lie Tally at the CNN Debate

1) "We had the greatest economy in the history of our country. We had never done so well. Every – everybody was amazed by it. Other countries were copying us." 2) "But the thing we never got the credit for, and we should have, is getting us out of that COVID mess." 3) "The only jobs he created are for illegal immigrants and bounceback jobs; they’re bounced back from the COVID." 4) "Not going to drive them higher. It’s just going to cause countries that have been ripping us off for years, like China and many others, in all fairness to China – it’s going to just force them to pay us a lot of money, reduce our deficit tremendously, and give us a lot of power for other things." (tariffs) 5) "He also said he inherited 9 percent inflation." 6) "No, he inherited almost no inflation and it stayed that way for 14 months. And then it blew up under his leadership, because they spent money like a bunch of people that didn’t know what t...
