Tebowmania is getting ridiculous... His name was mentioned 132 times on ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown today...
No, that's not a typo. Watch a replay of Countdown somewhere and scroll forward to the final 2-3 minutes when they made this announcement.
It was incredible to watch the show today. The show airs from 10 am to 1 pm. I'd say about half the show was dedicated to Tebow. I'm not exaggerating. Again, watch a replay of the program. Hell, it felt like more than half the show was dedicated to the guy. Fricking ridiculous. Does ESPN realize what they're doing? It's like a hit single on the radio. People may love it at first, but if it gets played too frequently, people are going to grow tired of it...and fast... That's kind of where I am. My dad and I were watching the show and we couldn't believe it. Chris Berman, Mike Ditka, Keyshawn Johnson, Cris Carter, Tom Jackson, Merrill Hoge, Suzy Kolber, Trent Dilfer, etc., etc., etc. were talking about Tebow. We heard Tebow speak to an ESPN reporter. We were placed inside the huddle with guess who? Tebow. We were given a DJ mix about...yup, Tebow. A detailed game analysis of which game you might ask? The Patriots and Broncos. Who starts at quarterback for the Broncos? One Tim Tebow. A top ten list of comebacks, featuring which team? The Denver Broncos and guess who made the list on some occasions? Mr. Tebow. It NEVER seemed to end. Even at the very end of the program, Tebow was mentioned as Berman announced that the quarterback's name had been uttered 132 times on the show. Excluding commercial time, that's close to one time per minute. Again...ridiculous. I really hope college kids don't concoct a drinking game where whenever Tebow's name is mentioned on Sunday NFL Countdown they have to do a shot, because there will be a lot of drunken and unconscious kids right there. I may have to write ESPN, because this is just getting ridiculous. That hit single is really starting to give me a headache. Where's that advil?
