ESPN Reports: "Tim Tebow played with a boo-boo" Awwwww...

Before I give my take on this article, I'll give everyone a chance to read it for themselves. Here she is -

http://espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs/2011/story/_/id/7474270/denver-broncos-tim-tebow-played-injuries-vs-new-england-patriots-source-says

That's right, in the physical, violent, often times brutal sport known as football (to Americans anyway), Denver Broncos' quarterback Tim Tebow played hurt in Saturday night's 45-10 loss to the New England Patriots.

This isn't big news. Thirteen Patriots were questionable on gameday and not because they hadn't slept great the night before or wanted to watch re-runs of "Mad About You". They were banged up.

But, okay, I'll give in. Tebow has, rightly or not, become a big name in the NFL, so perhaps this story deserved mention. However, the way it was written made me chuckle. Check out some of Adam Schefter's lines:

"The injuries came as the result of a hit in the pocket when Tebow was pressured after throwing a pass. Even so, he was determined to finish the game with his teammates regardless of the score."

and

"Even with the injuries, it is believed Tebow will begin his offseason training program according to schedule."

The article closed with this - "'It's a great honor to be quarterback for the Denver Broncos,' Tebow told the Denver Post. 'I take that very seriously. I'm excited about this offseason and I can't wait to get to work and get better.'"

So, there we have it. Tim Tebow is a fighter. He's a warrior. He's a god. Oh and let's make an excuse for the 35-point loss to the Patriots.

I commend Tebow for playing through the pain on Saturday night, but professional football players do this week in and week out, big name players at that. Tom Brady was questionable most weeks this season. Michael Vick was battered and bruised for most of the season, but managed to start 13 games. Ray Lewis battled through some injuries this year. Countless other, lesser known players, did the exact same. Why do we feel the need to give a long, detailed report of Tebow's fighting through injury on the field and not the countless others?

Also, it wouldn't have mattered whether Tebow was 100% or 2.3% healthy. The Broncos got slaughtered on Saturday night. New England scored 35 points in the first half and if they hadn't have put it in cruise control in the second, they could have easily eclipsed 50 points (perhaps even 60 or 70). The Broncos did little to nothing against the Pats' sub-par defense. The Pats dominated in all phases of the game. Like I said, what Tebow did was commendable, but fairly common in this league and it had absolutely no bearing on the end result of the game. Come on, ESPN, or perhaps they should now be known as TTPN (Tim Tebow Primetime Network).

Boycotting jukeboxes because of TouchTunes

I love music and enjoy hitting the bar(s) over the weekend, so naturally, when the mood strikes me, I've never been coy about playing some songs on the jukebox. This past Thursday, a friend of mine turned 50, so several friends of her's, including myself, all met up to celebrate the occasion. At around 9:30, a friend of mine and I both chipped in $5 to play some songs on the jukebox. Four hours and 231 skips later, we gave up on hearing the songs we had selected, and went home knowing we had just wasted $5. This wasn't the first time such a thing had happened to me (and many others), and due to that, I'll be boycotting jukeboxes. Why? The scam known as TouchTunes. You see, here's how the plot typically breaks down. A person (or group of people) downloads the TouchTunes app on his/her phone, consumes one too many adult beverages, and due to this, has less care for spending extra money to hear the songs of their choosing right NOW. That's the thing with TouchTun

The difference between "looking" and "checking out"

I may be way off with these numbers, but it's my approximation that at least 75% of individuals whom are involved in a serious relationship feel it's perfectly acceptable to "check out" members of the opposite sex they're not involved with. Meanwhile, approximately 25% either don't feel this is acceptable or aren't sure about the matter. I hadn't thought about this matter for a while, but since I've been dating a woman for about 8 months, the topic has been pondered about some. When reading or hearing others discuss this very issue, I often times hear comments similar to the following: "It's human nature to look." "There's nothing wrong with checking others out. I'm sure he/she does it too!" "It's fine to do it. Just don't tell your boyfriend/girlfriend about it or do it in front of them!" "It's natural to find people attractive." When observing the array of comments, I i

The verdict is in. To no one's surprise, Jonathan Hoenig has been found guilty of being an idiot.

Just recently, when discussing the Michael Brown shooting and whether or not race had anything to do with it, Fox News contributor Jonathan Hoenig said, "You know who talks about race? Racists." One moment while I provide Mr. Hoenig with the well deserved slow-clap. :: slow-claps for two seconds :: So, that was quite the line by Mr. Hoenig, wasn't it? "You know who talks about race? Racists." Well, wasn't he just talking about race? So, by his own words, I guess that makes him a racist. Also, if he wants to be consistent, does this mean that people whom talk about gender are sexists and people whom talk about sexual orientation are homophobes? With that line of thinking, Hoenig would engage in the following back-and-forths: Hoenig: "So, who are you voting for?" A woman: "The Democratic candidate, because he's been adamant about his support for equal rights for women." Hoenig: "You sexist feminist nazi!"
