Quotes to get offended by

I just wrote a piece which showcased a couple of recent cases where the PC-police went too far. Here now are three even more recent cases where that was anything but the case.

I'll start with Alex Jones, who had this to say with regard to the Las Vegas massacre:

"About 20 minutes ago, ISIS took responsibility for the attacks, and the police have confirmed that he had -- the reported shooter had recently personally threatened them and posted videos threatening them, saying that he had joined ISIS, joined Al Qaeda, and that he was basically a leftist, just like [alleged NSA leaker] Reality Winner, and just like so many others that had converted to Islam, that was so angry about Trump and everything that was happening that he went out and carried out this attack. Now, again, clearly it looks like he had help, but we saw the October 1st event of the 100 years of the Bolshevik Revolution coming up, and I had been predicting starting October 1st that we'd see terror attacks."

Nothing he said here has been confirmed. Neither the police nor the FBI confirmed that the shooter, Stephen Paddock, was a member of ISIS. They've even gone so far as to say they're rather certain this wasn't an act of international terrorism. Rumors of him being a liberal, anti-Trump individual have also been debunked. Sadly, we average a mass shooting on about a daily basis in this country, so Alex Jones predicting such an event on October 1st would be like me predicting a morning person named Sunny Delight is going to eat breakfast tomorrow.

Up next we have CBS vice president and senior counsel Hayley Geftman-Gold, who wrote on her Facebook page, "If they wouldn't do anything when children were murdered I have no hope that Repugs will ever do the right thing. I'm actually not even sympathetic [because] country music fans are often Republican gun toters."

This is an incredibly ignorant, cold-hearted statement. What, since both Texas and Florida voted for Donald Trump last November, victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma were deserving of their fate? These are people's lives we're talking about here, people with mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters. Let's not forget that, regardless of these victims' party affiliation, a large majority of both Republicans and Democrats believe in certain stricter gun-control measures, so if this individual wants to blame anyone, she can point her fingers at Congress, while sympathizing with the victims and their families. Why on earth should victims be blamed for the inaction of their leaders? As should have been the case, Ms. Geftman-Gold has been fired for her remarks.

Lastly (for now), Bill O'Reilly wrote this in a blog:

"Once again, the big downside of American freedom is on gruesome display... The murderer had a number of deadly weapons in his room and you can count on the gun control debate to ramp up... This is the price of freedom. Violent nuts are allowed to roam free until they do damage, no matter how threatening they are. The 2nd Amendment is clear that Americans have a right to arm themselves for protection. Even the loons."

This is the price of freedom? What freedom do the 59 deceased now have, Mr. O'Reilly?

What about Sonny Melton's freedom? Rachael Parker's? Jordan McIldoon's? Angela Gomez's? Sandra Casey's? Jenny Parks's? Neysa Tonks's? Susan Smith's? Bailey Schweitzer's? Jennifer T. Irvine's? Lisa Romero-Muniz's? Rhonda LeRocque's? Carrie Barnette's? ...and the hundreds of others who were either wounded or killed in the Las Vegas shootings? Since when is the freedom of owning a deadly weapon of greater importance than the freedom of breathing air, of living life?

Boycotting jukeboxes because of TouchTunes

I love music and enjoy hitting the bar(s) over the weekend, so naturally, when the mood strikes me, I've never been coy about playing some songs on the jukebox. This past Thursday, a friend of mine turned 50, so several friends of her's, including myself, all met up to celebrate the occasion. At around 9:30, a friend of mine and I both chipped in $5 to play some songs on the jukebox. Four hours and 231 skips later, we gave up on hearing the songs we had selected, and went home knowing we had just wasted $5. This wasn't the first time such a thing had happened to me (and many others), and due to that, I'll be boycotting jukeboxes. Why? The scam known as TouchTunes. You see, here's how the plot typically breaks down. A person (or group of people) downloads the TouchTunes app on his/her phone, consumes one too many adult beverages, and due to this, has less care for spending extra money to hear the songs of their choosing right NOW. That's the thing with TouchTun

The difference between "looking" and "checking out"

I may be way off with these numbers, but it's my approximation that at least 75% of individuals whom are involved in a serious relationship feel it's perfectly acceptable to "check out" members of the opposite sex they're not involved with. Meanwhile, approximately 25% either don't feel this is acceptable or aren't sure about the matter. I hadn't thought about this matter for a while, but since I've been dating a woman for about 8 months, the topic has been pondered about some. When reading or hearing others discuss this very issue, I often times hear comments similar to the following: "It's human nature to look." "There's nothing wrong with checking others out. I'm sure he/she does it too!" "It's fine to do it. Just don't tell your boyfriend/girlfriend about it or do it in front of them!" "It's natural to find people attractive." When observing the array of comments, I i

The verdict is in. To no one's surprise, Jonathan Hoenig has been found guilty of being an idiot.

Just recently, when discussing the Michael Brown shooting and whether or not race had anything to do with it, Fox News contributor Jonathan Hoenig said, "You know who talks about race? Racists." One moment while I provide Mr. Hoenig with the well deserved slow-clap. :: slow-claps for two seconds :: So, that was quite the line by Mr. Hoenig, wasn't it? "You know who talks about race? Racists." Well, wasn't he just talking about race? So, by his own words, I guess that makes him a racist. Also, if he wants to be consistent, does this mean that people whom talk about gender are sexists and people whom talk about sexual orientation are homophobes? With that line of thinking, Hoenig would engage in the following back-and-forths: Hoenig: "So, who are you voting for?" A woman: "The Democratic candidate, because he's been adamant about his support for equal rights for women." Hoenig: "You sexist feminist nazi!"
