In Wisconsin's sixth congressional district Republican primary yesterday, State Senator Glenn Grothman narrowly won and will square off against Winnebago County Executive Mark Harris in the coming midterm election to replace retiring Representative Tom Petri. Allow me to introduce everyone to State Senator Grothman. Here are a few of his quotes and my commentary after each one:
- "You could argue that money is more important for men."
Clearly what the state senator meant to say was, "You could argue that money is more important for men than for dodo birds." Okay, so that's probably not true. The statement did make him sound like a dodo, however.
- "[The wage gap can be blamed on] women's decision to prioritize childrearing over their careers."
Those darn women whom work and have babies all by themselves, while men have nothing to do with those very babies! One has to wonder what Grothman would say if men were the ones getting pregnant, well, besides, "What the hell is this? Get this thing out of me! Wait... Nevermind... I can just sit back, act like I have a bigger beer-belly than I already had, watch the game, eat the weird stuff I usually eat, and have an excuse for it."
- "[MLK Day] is an insult to all the other taxpayers around the state..."
Does he feel this way regarding all national holidays? Survey says? Only ones that celebrate people whom aren't as pale as Casper.
- "[...giving] government employees off has nothing to do with honoring Martin Luther King Day and it's just about giving state employees another day off."
Just like Christmas, right?
- "...almost no black people today care about Kwanzaa - just white left-wingers who try to shove this down black people's throats in an effort to divide Americans."
Yeah, that's it... One quick question: How does one literally shove Kwanzaa down another's throat? Or how about Christmas or Hanukkah? Do some people take Christmas trees or Menorahs and attempt to shove them down people's throats? I've personally never seen it, but would like to ask Mr. Grothman these ridiculous questions in response to his ridiculous comment.
- "Be on the lookout if a K-12 or college teacher tries to tell your children or grandchildren it's a real holiday (Kwanzaa)."
A "real" holiday? Is this in line with the concept of "real" Americans? Do real Americans only celebrate Christmas? What happened with that freedom of religion concept the founders were talking about that one time? Hmm... That's a mystery...
- "Would you want your daughter's teacher in 7th grade talking with her about homosexuality?"
Here's an even better question: Would you want Glenn Grothman talking to your kids about anything? Me neither...
- "...[Back when I was in school] homosexuality was not on anybody's radar. And that's a good thing."
That's what he thinks. State Senator Grothman was likely on at least a couple of guys' radars, but after finding out he was a giant douche, they decided to look elsewhere.
- "[The left harbors a homosexual agenda to convince more students to] become homosexuals."
That's it. The main goal of progressives, most of whom are straight, is to make everyone gay! If we progressives get our way, we'll regularly be engaging in conversations like this one:
Liberal #1: "Are you gay?"
Liberal #2: "No"
Liberal #1: "Me neither! So, wanna do it?"
Liberal #2: "Hell yeah! Everyone's doing it! Let's be gay too!"
Liberal #1: "Aw yeah! Bow-chicka-bow-wow!"
- "Yes. Right. I think we believe that insofar as there are inappropriate things, people who vote inappropriately are more likely to vote Democrat."
So, since it appears as if State Senator Grothman has made a habit of it to say inappropriate things, does that then make him a Democrat? No? Well, then, how about some consistency there, Mr. Grossman, excuse me, Grothman?
Not only did the Wisconsin state senator utter the before-mentioned ridiculous quotes, he also fought against a state law that guaranteed workers were to have at least one day off each and every week. Grothman even went so far as to propose legislation to strip workers of that guaranteed day off every week. Not only that, but State Senator Grothman wanted to pass a bill which would have given a woman's parents or in-laws the power to prevent her from having an abortion.
Yeah, after reading all of those quotes, I think there should be an investigation on State Senator Glenn Grothman's birth certificate, because either his IQ is at a dangerously low level or he was born before the year 1600. Then again, I suppose it could be both...
