James Yeager's non-apology apology

Not too long ago, Tennessee firearms trainer (according to him) James Yeager posted a video online with the following rant:

"Vice President [Joe] Biden is asking the president to bypass Congress and use executive privilege, executive order to ban assault rifles and to impose stricter gun control. I'm not f**king putting up with this. I'm not letting my country be ruled by a dictator. I'm not letting anybody take my guns! If it goes one inch further, I'm going to start killing people."

...and the winner of the award for the man least likely to ever smooth talk a woman is... James Yeager!

Humorously enough, after Yeager said he wasn't going to let anyone take away his guns and if that happened, he'd start killing people, had his handgun carry permit revoked by Tennessee's Homeland Security office.

Not long afterward, Yeager released a second video, where it appeared as if he was on the verge of retracting his earlier comments and going so far as to apologize for them. After watching the video, I'd advise Mr. Yeager to take a beginner's course on apologizing. Here's what he said:

"I do not condone anybody committing any kind of felonies up to and including any aggravated assaults or murders, unless it's necessary. Right not it is not necessary. I have drawn my line in the sand: Not one more inch..."

In the video, he later said, "...I probably allowed my mouth to overrun my logic. But I don't, I don't retract any of my statements."

Upon hearing this, I'm sure the Tennessee Homeland Security office said, "Due to his very genuine and heartfelt non-retraction apology, I think the reasonable thing to do would be to give him back his permit. What do the rest of you think?"

Yeah, rumor has it that after cheating on a girlfriend with her sister, Yeager confronted his girlfriend with the following:

"Look, honey... I probably allowed my penis to do the thinking for me back there ::points at her sister's backside:: and in there ::points at her special lady part below the belt::.. It f**king happens sometimes, alright? I was f**king horny. She kind of looks like you, so whatever. I do not retract any of my actions! Got that? That's all the apology you're getting from me. You're welcome."

Boycotting jukeboxes because of TouchTunes

I love music and enjoy hitting the bar(s) over the weekend, so naturally, when the mood strikes me, I've never been coy about playing some songs on the jukebox. This past Thursday, a friend of mine turned 50, so several friends of her's, including myself, all met up to celebrate the occasion. At around 9:30, a friend of mine and I both chipped in $5 to play some songs on the jukebox. Four hours and 231 skips later, we gave up on hearing the songs we had selected, and went home knowing we had just wasted $5. This wasn't the first time such a thing had happened to me (and many others), and due to that, I'll be boycotting jukeboxes. Why? The scam known as TouchTunes. You see, here's how the plot typically breaks down. A person (or group of people) downloads the TouchTunes app on his/her phone, consumes one too many adult beverages, and due to this, has less care for spending extra money to hear the songs of their choosing right NOW. That's the thing with TouchTun...

The difference between "looking" and "checking out"

I may be way off with these numbers, but it's my approximation that at least 75% of individuals whom are involved in a serious relationship feel it's perfectly acceptable to "check out" members of the opposite sex they're not involved with. Meanwhile, approximately 25% either don't feel this is acceptable or aren't sure about the matter. I hadn't thought about this matter for a while, but since I've been dating a woman for about 8 months, the topic has been pondered about some. When reading or hearing others discuss this very issue, I often times hear comments similar to the following: "It's human nature to look." "There's nothing wrong with checking others out. I'm sure he/she does it too!" "It's fine to do it. Just don't tell your boyfriend/girlfriend about it or do it in front of them!" "It's natural to find people attractive." When observing the array of comments, I i...
