A Long Island Iced Tea Partier is less crazy than Tea Partier Matt Shea

A group of people could call themselves the Long Island Iced Tea Party, regularly consume 10 such drinks a piece, and still come across as less crazy than the Tea Party. Washington State Representative Matt Shea is the latest such individual to go public with his insanity.

At a Tea Party "Self-Reliance Rally" in Idaho, Shea told the crowd the following:

"We need to prepare for the inevitable collapse that is going to happen. You know it's going to happen. That's right, I am a politician and I am standing up here and saying that. ... When it happens, we need to look at this as an opportunity, not a crisis. Who's job is liberty? That's our job."

He then urged the crowd to stock up on ammunition, stay in shape, practice shooting, and learn self-defense, before saying, "Be prepared at any given moment to give up your job to do what is right. You have to stand up for what is right - even if it means you have to stand up to your government."

Let's break this down for a moment here. In Matt Shea, we have a person who persuaded the people of Washington to give him the opportunity to represent them in the state government to help improve their lives. While in government, Shea then tells these same people that the government will collapse (with him in it no less), and for the people to stand up against the government (of which he is a part) when this happens, so the government, which fell apart, doesn't seize control on its people.

I love Shea's mindset.

Running for office - "Elect me! I'll do some good for you! Trust me!"

While in office - "We're all doomed! Partially because of electing me! When this all falls apart, fight against us, including me! Trust me!"

When running for office again: "So things weren't quite as bad as I had thought! Elect me again! Trust me!"

Trust Matt Shea? I'd trust a man who had just consumed 10 Long Island Iced Teas before I trusted Tea Partier Matt Shea. Speaking of which, after reading this man's crazy remarks, I think I could go for one of those right now - maybe two...

Boycotting jukeboxes because of TouchTunes

I love music and enjoy hitting the bar(s) over the weekend, so naturally, when the mood strikes me, I've never been coy about playing some songs on the jukebox. This past Thursday, a friend of mine turned 50, so several friends of her's, including myself, all met up to celebrate the occasion. At around 9:30, a friend of mine and I both chipped in $5 to play some songs on the jukebox. Four hours and 231 skips later, we gave up on hearing the songs we had selected, and went home knowing we had just wasted $5. This wasn't the first time such a thing had happened to me (and many others), and due to that, I'll be boycotting jukeboxes. Why? The scam known as TouchTunes. You see, here's how the plot typically breaks down. A person (or group of people) downloads the TouchTunes app on his/her phone, consumes one too many adult beverages, and due to this, has less care for spending extra money to hear the songs of their choosing right NOW. That's the thing with TouchTun...

The difference between "looking" and "checking out"

I may be way off with these numbers, but it's my approximation that at least 75% of individuals whom are involved in a serious relationship feel it's perfectly acceptable to "check out" members of the opposite sex they're not involved with. Meanwhile, approximately 25% either don't feel this is acceptable or aren't sure about the matter. I hadn't thought about this matter for a while, but since I've been dating a woman for about 8 months, the topic has been pondered about some. When reading or hearing others discuss this very issue, I often times hear comments similar to the following: "It's human nature to look." "There's nothing wrong with checking others out. I'm sure he/she does it too!" "It's fine to do it. Just don't tell your boyfriend/girlfriend about it or do it in front of them!" "It's natural to find people attractive." When observing the array of comments, I i...
