Not to brag, but I was just mentioned on a far right-wing website!

As I mentioned previously, I've had a bit of fun over the past few days on Twitter, especially with regard to the hashtags #NewGOPDebateQuestions and #GOPDebateDemands. A pair of liberal-leaning websites even mentioned a couple of my tweets in articles they wrote regarding the hashtag #NewGOPDebateQuestions. Well, to my surprise, those weren't the only two sites to mention my tweets. Late last night, I discovered the far right-leaning site, IJ Review, did as well.

Before going into the article more thoroughly, allow me to introduce everyone to IJ Review, which is short for Independent Journal Review (yes, misleading, isn't it?). Here are just a few articles they've published which help to showcase just how "independent" and "journalistic" they really are:

- "Americans Rejected Barack Obama's Democratic Party Last Night"

- "'Duck Dynasty' Star Korie Robertson Calls Out Obama on America Turning Away from God"

- "Hillary Makes Slip Up About Presidents and Their Criminal Histories That Says So, So Much"

- "Ivy League Prof Turns the Tables on Democrats by Revealing Their Own Party's Voter Suppression"

- "Barack Obama Mocked Republicans for GOP Debate Demands. He Forgot to Mention an Embarrassing Fact..."

- Dem Congresswoman Makes a Startling Connection Between Obama and Islamic Extremists"

- "Two of Hillary's Closest Aides Are Locked in Digital Catfight in Latest Thing to Come out of Emails"

- "Nancy Pelosi's Laugh Will Get Your Halloween Started Right"

- "Here's How Liberals React When You Investigate a 'Tiny Thing' Like Benghazi"

- "Hillary's Supporters' Reactions Say It All When They're Asked About Her Accomplishments"

Yes, IJ Review is about as independent, journalistic, and nonpartisan as a 5-year-old named Rush Limbaugh writing for the National Enquirer. That brings me to the article I mentioned at the outset, which was written by Mike Miller and entitled, "After Liberals Mock GOP Candidates on Twitter, Actor Gives Them a Lesson in Hijacking a Hashtag."

Miller started his piece with this:

"Following CNBC's handling of Wednesday's GOP presidential debate, the Republican National Committee informed NBC that it was suspending its scheduled February debate on the network.

Shortly thereafter, liberals set up #NewGOPDebateQuestions on Twitter to mock the RNC and Republican contenders for complaining about the questions from the moderators.

Then, actor and director Nick Searcy hijacked the hashtag. Hilarity ensued."

Ooh, I can't wait! ...and hold on, who's actor Nick Searcy? In any case, please continue, Mr. Miller...

"First, a taste of those mocking the GOP:

Craig Rozniecki: 'Mr. Carson, what's one thing you dislike which you've never compared to slavery or the Holocaust?'

Mrs. Betty Bowers: 'Gun violence is caused by: a) Estate taxes; b) Offshore capital gains taxes; or c) Nondeductible Country Club dues.'

Mrs. Betty Bowers: 'May I whisper my proposed question in your ear first, to make sure it doesn't offend you, make you think, or cry?'

S. Douglas: 'Ms. Fiorina, it took you 6 yrs to kill HP. If elected, you'll only have 4 to kill the entire economy. You up to it?'"

Yes, I have to say I was quite proud to be mentioned first on a far right-wing website, but I'll try not to brag about it too much at this very moment. So, anyway, Mr. Miller, you were saying?

"Got it? Yeah, so then Searcy took over:

Nick Searcy: 'Why are you allowing people of color to run in your party? Why can't you be all white like the Dem candidates are?'

Nick Searcy: 'In Obama's economy, 94million are out of the work force. How will you keep them out so illegals can find jobs?'

Nick Searcy: 'In what ways do you think you are inferior to Hillary Clinton, or for that matter, any other Democrat alive?'

Nick Searcy: 'Can you speak in a really bad Southern or black dialect, and if not, how will you pander in black churches?'

Nick Searcy: 'In the event of a foreign policy disaster, how will you go about finding a suitable YouTube video to blame it on?'

Nick Searcy: 'Do you support the recent 2-year budget agreement passed by both houses, and if not, why are you a racist?'

Nick Searcy: 'Are you willing to kiss Democrat ass for your whole life...and if not, why are you a racist?'

Nick Searcy: 'Can you teach people to eat sh*t and enjoy it, as Obama has done for Democrats...?'

And on it went. One wonders why some people don't see the train coming before they lie down on the tracks."

Yes, one wonders all right... Actually, what I'm wondering after reading Nick Searcy's comments is why, instead of the article being entitled, "After Liberals Mock GOP Candidates on Twitter, Actor Gives Them a Lesson in Hijacking a Hashtag," why it wasn't entitled, "After Liberals Mock GOP Candidates on Twitter, Actor Makes an Ass of Himself." I also have to wonder if the writer banged his head on a train one too many times if he finds Searcy's tweets to be either clever or funny. Let's look back at them all again, shall we?

Nick Searcy: "Why are you allowing people of color to run in your party? Why can't you be all white like the Dem candidates are?"

My response: This has to be one of the dumbest tweets I've ever read. Apparently Mr. Searcy knows demographics within the two major political parties like my Siberian Husky knows calculus. Of the 188 Democratic seats in the House of Representatives, 78 are minorities (41.5%), whereas of the 246 seats Republicans make up in the House, just 12 are minorities (4.9%). If we include the Senate, there are 81 Democratic minorities (34.6%) in Congress and only 16 Republican minorities (5.3%). Oh, and just as a side note, our current president, Barack Obama, is a Democrat as well.

Nick Searcy: "In Obama's economy, 94million are out of the work force. How will you keep them out so illegals can find jobs?"

My response: The economy? He seriously wants to go there? When Republican President George W. Bush left office, we were facing what was termed The Great Recession, as Americans were losing jobs at rates not seen since The Great Depression. Meanwhile, under President Obama, more jobs have been created than under both Bushes combined, including over 60 consecutive months of private sector job growth.

Nick Searcy: "In what ways do you think you are inferior to Hillary Clinton, or for that matter, any other Democrat alive?"

My response: Sure, I'll answer for the GOP candidates: "We believe debunked conspiracy theories are more valid than scientific studies; that the Bible can be proven as more true than science; and that guns don't ever shoot and kill people."

Nick Searcy: "Can you speak in a really bad Southern or black dialect, and if not, how will you pander in black churches?"

My response: More like, "How will you convince African-Americans to vote for Democrats?" Because, unlike many Republicans, they're not trying to suppress African-Americans' votes and silence their voices in the process; they're trying to open their minds up to police reform, prison reform, and drug reform; not to mention trying to provide equal opportunities as far as education and employment are concerned. Besides that, though, no reason, no reason at all...

Nick Searcy: "In the event of a foreign policy disaster, how will you go about finding a suitable YouTube video to blame it on?"

My response: Oh, I don't know, they'll instead just lie to the public about Iraq having weapons of mass destruction, spend trillions of dollars in war, cost thousands of soldiers their lives, not to mention innocent Iraqi bystanders, and continue the seemingly never-ending cycle of bombing countries, creating enemies, becoming paranoid about those enemies, and bombing them again.

Nick Searcy: "Do you support the recent 2-year budget agreement passed by both houses, and if not, why are you a racist?"

My response: I sincerely hope no Critical Thinking professors read this quote, because I have a feeling if they did, most of them would suffer from migraines, alcoholism, and/or suicidal tendencies.

Nick Searcy: "Are you willing to kiss Democrat ass for your whole life...and if not, why are you a racist?"

My response: Ditto... (I sincerely hope no Critical Thinking professors read this quote, because I have a feeling if they did, most of them would suffer from migraines, alcoholism, and/or suicidal tendencies.)

Nick Searcy: "Can you teach people to eat sh*t and enjoy it, as Obama has done for Democrats...?"

My response: It amazes me how so many conservatives appear to suffer from amnesia. During George W. Bush's 8 years as president, we went through the 9/11 attacks, misinformation leading to multiple wars, the failed response to Hurricane Katrina, The Great Recession, etc., and yet people like Nick Searcy seem to believe those days were so much better than what we've enjoyed over the past 7 years, which involved healthcare reform, an effort to end our involvement in the wars overseas, an economic rebound. oh, and no 9/11 attacks on our soil. Besides that, though, the Bush years were so much better... Who's the one eating and enjoy sh*t again, Mr. Searcy? That's what I thought...

Boycotting jukeboxes because of TouchTunes

I love music and enjoy hitting the bar(s) over the weekend, so naturally, when the mood strikes me, I've never been coy about playing some songs on the jukebox. This past Thursday, a friend of mine turned 50, so several friends of her's, including myself, all met up to celebrate the occasion. At around 9:30, a friend of mine and I both chipped in $5 to play some songs on the jukebox. Four hours and 231 skips later, we gave up on hearing the songs we had selected, and went home knowing we had just wasted $5. This wasn't the first time such a thing had happened to me (and many others), and due to that, I'll be boycotting jukeboxes. Why? The scam known as TouchTunes. You see, here's how the plot typically breaks down. A person (or group of people) downloads the TouchTunes app on his/her phone, consumes one too many adult beverages, and due to this, has less care for spending extra money to hear the songs of their choosing right NOW. That's the thing with TouchTun

The difference between "looking" and "checking out"

I may be way off with these numbers, but it's my approximation that at least 75% of individuals whom are involved in a serious relationship feel it's perfectly acceptable to "check out" members of the opposite sex they're not involved with. Meanwhile, approximately 25% either don't feel this is acceptable or aren't sure about the matter. I hadn't thought about this matter for a while, but since I've been dating a woman for about 8 months, the topic has been pondered about some. When reading or hearing others discuss this very issue, I often times hear comments similar to the following: "It's human nature to look." "There's nothing wrong with checking others out. I'm sure he/she does it too!" "It's fine to do it. Just don't tell your boyfriend/girlfriend about it or do it in front of them!" "It's natural to find people attractive." When observing the array of comments, I i

The verdict is in. To no one's surprise, Jonathan Hoenig has been found guilty of being an idiot.

Just recently, when discussing the Michael Brown shooting and whether or not race had anything to do with it, Fox News contributor Jonathan Hoenig said, "You know who talks about race? Racists." One moment while I provide Mr. Hoenig with the well deserved slow-clap. :: slow-claps for two seconds :: So, that was quite the line by Mr. Hoenig, wasn't it? "You know who talks about race? Racists." Well, wasn't he just talking about race? So, by his own words, I guess that makes him a racist. Also, if he wants to be consistent, does this mean that people whom talk about gender are sexists and people whom talk about sexual orientation are homophobes? With that line of thinking, Hoenig would engage in the following back-and-forths: Hoenig: "So, who are you voting for?" A woman: "The Democratic candidate, because he's been adamant about his support for equal rights for women." Hoenig: "You sexist feminist nazi!"
