Romney may actually be a robot

In an article recently released by Boston Spirit, one David Wilson shed some light on Mitt Romney's thoughts, feelings and interactions with the gay community.

As Massachusetts Governor in 2004, Romney spoke out in favor of banning same-sex marriage in the state, going so far as endorsing a constitutional amendment which would do just that.

In interacting with then Governor Romney and attempting to plead his case against the amendment, Wilson reflected on the experience, saying, "It was like talking to a robot. No expression, no feeling. People were sharing touching stories, stories where you'd expect recognition in the other person's face that they at least hear what you're saying -- that there's empathy. He didn't even shake his head. He was completely blank."

According to Wilson, Romney did utter a few words, as he said, "I didn't know you had families."

The lead plaintiff in the case - Julie Goodridge - was concerned about what she'd tell her adopted daughter if she and her partner's marriage were overturned.

According to Goodridge, Romney responded with, "I don't really care what you tell your adopted daughter. Why don't you just tell her what you've been telling her for the last eight years?"

I have a feeling these alleged quotes could make for great bumper stickers:

"You have families?" - Mitt Romney. Vote Romney - he listens...or something...

"I don't care what you tell your daughter!" - Mitt Romney. Vote Romney - he cares...about stuff...

I can even hear Romney doing the following ad:

"Do you have a family? Think I care? I don't care about your stinking family! Have a daughter? A son? Two dogs, a chicken and an emu named Elmer? Think I give a s**t (bleep)? No. What the f**k (bleep) do I care? Have a family? Good for you. Want a cookie? No - you're probably just a dependent liberal and want me to give you a car, right? That's what I thought! So, yeah - have a family? I really couldn't give two s**ts (bleep). Hell, I couldn't even give one s**t (bleep). I'm Mitt Romney and I approve this message."

Boycotting jukeboxes because of TouchTunes

I love music and enjoy hitting the bar(s) over the weekend, so naturally, when the mood strikes me, I've never been coy about playing some songs on the jukebox. This past Thursday, a friend of mine turned 50, so several friends of her's, including myself, all met up to celebrate the occasion. At around 9:30, a friend of mine and I both chipped in $5 to play some songs on the jukebox. Four hours and 231 skips later, we gave up on hearing the songs we had selected, and went home knowing we had just wasted $5. This wasn't the first time such a thing had happened to me (and many others), and due to that, I'll be boycotting jukeboxes. Why? The scam known as TouchTunes. You see, here's how the plot typically breaks down. A person (or group of people) downloads the TouchTunes app on his/her phone, consumes one too many adult beverages, and due to this, has less care for spending extra money to hear the songs of their choosing right NOW. That's the thing with TouchTun...

Face guarding is legal in college football and the NFL

I just wanted to remind fans and announcers especially, that face guarding is legal in both college football and the NFL. It all comes down to contact. So long as a defender doesn't make contact with an intended receiver, he doesn't have to turn around to play the ball. I can't tell you how many times every week I hear announcers talk about face guarding being a penalty. It's not. I even heard one announcer yesterday state, "If the defender doesn't turn around and play the ball, the ref will call pass interference every time." That's simply not true. Courtesy of referee Bill LeMonnier, he says this with regard to the rule at the college level (answered on 8/12/13): "NCAA rules on pass interference require the face guarding to have contact to be a foul. No contact, no foul by NCAA rules." In the NFL rule book, this is written:  "Actions that constitute defensive pass interference include but are not limited to: (a) Contact by a ...
