Romney using healthcare plan as a defense - Eh, what?

So, to everyone's surprise, I'm sure - the voters think that President Obama can better relate to the average person than Mitt Romney, that he cares more about their needs.

Due to these poll results, Romney said the following yesterday: "Don't forget -- I got everybody in my state insured. One hundred percent of the kids in our state had health insurance. I don't think there's anything that shows more empathy and care about the people of this country than that kind of record."

Is this man trying to drive others and myself bonkers with regard to where he stands on healthcare reform? Seriously... Let's go through a chronological list pertaining to healthcare reform:

1) Romney signs Romneycare as Governor of Massachusetts

2) Obamacare, which is said to be nearly identical to Romneycare, passes

3) Upon receiving his party's nomination for president, Romney says his first order of business in the Oval Office would be to repeal Obamacare in its entirety

4) Romney later states that there are portions of Obamacare he likes and wouldn't mind holding onto

5) After hearing angry conservatives yelling at him and throwing feces at his bedroom window while cursing at him in jive, he states that he'll repeal all of Obamacare

6) Not long after, he states that while he'll repeal all of Obamacare, he'll still keep in tact the couple sections he likes

7) He happily accepts being called the grandfather of Obamacare

8) He says he will repeal Obamacare as president

9) He proudly speaks of Romneycare and says, "...I don't think there's anything that shows more empathy and care about the people of this country than that kind of record."

10) He continues to slam Obamacare and say he will repeal it

Mitt, I'm really trying to understand you here. Okay, so you're proud of Romneycare and think that passing that speaks a great deal about your character and the amount of care and empathy you have for people. You passed that as Governor of a state, so the law pertained to only people of that state. Obama passed a nearly identical version of Romneycare, which pertains to every person in this country, yet even though you like certain portions of the bill and will keep those somehow, you're going to repeal the whole thing? If passing the bill for the people of one state showed you care and empathize with people a great deal, to what does passing a similar bill for the whole country translate? You know, the bill you said you're going to repeal in its entirety, even though you like a couple parts of it and will hang on to those somehow? Ah, I give up. I need a drink!

Boycotting jukeboxes because of TouchTunes

I love music and enjoy hitting the bar(s) over the weekend, so naturally, when the mood strikes me, I've never been coy about playing some songs on the jukebox. This past Thursday, a friend of mine turned 50, so several friends of her's, including myself, all met up to celebrate the occasion. At around 9:30, a friend of mine and I both chipped in $5 to play some songs on the jukebox. Four hours and 231 skips later, we gave up on hearing the songs we had selected, and went home knowing we had just wasted $5. This wasn't the first time such a thing had happened to me (and many others), and due to that, I'll be boycotting jukeboxes. Why? The scam known as TouchTunes. You see, here's how the plot typically breaks down. A person (or group of people) downloads the TouchTunes app on his/her phone, consumes one too many adult beverages, and due to this, has less care for spending extra money to hear the songs of their choosing right NOW. That's the thing with TouchTun...

The difference between "looking" and "checking out"

I may be way off with these numbers, but it's my approximation that at least 75% of individuals whom are involved in a serious relationship feel it's perfectly acceptable to "check out" members of the opposite sex they're not involved with. Meanwhile, approximately 25% either don't feel this is acceptable or aren't sure about the matter. I hadn't thought about this matter for a while, but since I've been dating a woman for about 8 months, the topic has been pondered about some. When reading or hearing others discuss this very issue, I often times hear comments similar to the following: "It's human nature to look." "There's nothing wrong with checking others out. I'm sure he/she does it too!" "It's fine to do it. Just don't tell your boyfriend/girlfriend about it or do it in front of them!" "It's natural to find people attractive." When observing the array of comments, I i...
