In June, actor-comedian Tracy Morgan and others were struck by a Wal-Mart truck while in a limousine. They've gone on to file charges against Wal-Mart due to the injuries they suffered. At first, Wal-Mart seemed willing to take full responsibility for the matter, but in a court filing on Monday, the company appeared to go a different route. According to their filing, Wal-Mart believes the passengers' injuries were caused "in whole or in part" by their "failure to properly wear an appropriate available seatbelt restraint device." Unfortunately for Wally World, a report by federal transportation safety investigators disagree with their claim, for it stated that the driver of the Wal-Mart truck, Kevin Roper, was driving 65 mph in a 55 mph zone which had been lowered to 45 mph that night due to construction, and he had not slept for more than 24 hours at the time of the crash. Is anyone else getting a little tired of ESPN obsessing about their made-up QBR statistic? While the passer rating is/was definitely flawed and most people had no idea how to calculate it, it's nowhere near as flawed as the QBR. The passer rating combined: Completion percentage, yards per attempt, touchdown percentage, and interception percentage, to form an imperfect yet somewhat effective formula to showcase how effective a quarterback was at passing the football. In other words, the final result of the formula was based on objective numbers. However, that's not fully the case with the QBR formula. According to the QBR statistic, each quarterback is graded on a scale of 0 to 100 to display how much they contribute to a win, with 50 being "average." The formula takes into account things such as: Overthrows, underthrows, yards after the catch, and clutch plays, among others. Thursday Game: Minnesota at Green Bay Pick: Green Bay - It's just like Aaron Rodgers said, "R-E-L-A-X," and he was right, at least for one week. With this game being at home for the Packers and the Vikings quarterback situation being up in the air at the moment due to the injuries to Matt Cassell and Teddy Bridgewater, I like for Green Bay to improve to 3-2 with a 10-point win at Lambeau. While I am officially through day 53 of the 63 insanity beachbody workout and have noticed some nice changes, I still feel the need to poke fun at it a little bit. In these workouts, the leader - Shaun T - has the tendency to say and do certain things throughout each and every one. For example, I can't count how many times he says the following (okay, it's not that I CAN'T count; I just don't want to): - "Dig deeper!" - "You can do it!" - "I'm watching you!" - "I'm right here with you!" - "Come on, people!" Is it just me or does it seem as if 94.3% of people never take responsibility anymore, and in most cases, they then point the finger at someone else when confronted about a slip-up of theirs? In politics, in sports, at work, at school, between couples, between friends, between family members, seemingly anywhere and everywhere, when someone is called out on a mistake they made, instead of admitting to the error, they then point the finger at someone else. Why does it seem so difficult anymore to admit a mistake, attempt to learn from it, and not make that same mistake again? In a move that appears to be trending nationwide, the Jefferson County School Board in Colorado is set to vote on a policy proposal which would, in essence, alter the course of history. This led hundreds of high school students in the Denver metro area to protest by walking out of classrooms this past Tuesday. What is this proposal exactly? Carimah Townes of ThinkProgress reported the following: "...the Jefferson County School Board in Colorado would restrict history education to subject matter that 'promote[s] citizenship, patriotism, essentials and benefits of the free-market system, respect for authority and respect for individuals rights.' According to the curricula proposal, students would only be taught lessons depicting American heritage in a positive light, and effectively ban any material that could lead to dissent. Just yesterday, the National Rifle Association posted a video with a monologue by Billy Johnson, who says this about gun-control advocates supposedly being paranoid: "What does it say about you that you are afraid of people who are legally exercising their right to bear arms? In yet another case of victim-blaming, an Oklahoma Highway Patrol officer and an Oklahoma City Police officer have been accused of repeatedly raping women in recent months. Just last week, a Tulsa County sheriff's deputy was arrested for sexually assaulting a woman after responding to a 911 call. So, what did Captain George Brown have to say about all of this? What were his words of wisdom to women? He lent KJRH (and women everywhere) this piece of advice: "He [the captain] says the best tip that he can give is to follow the law in the first place so you don't get pulled over." There we have it. If a woman gets raped by a cop, it's really her own fault for getting pulled over in the first place. It's another day and there's another story about sexist commentary made by male talking heads on Fox News. On Monday, Major Mariam Al Mansouri, the first female pilot in the United Arab Emirates' Air Force, was reportedly a team leader in the airstrikes against ISIS in Syria. So, what did co-hosts of the Fox News show,  The Five , have to say about this? Oh, just the following: Kimberly Guilfoyle: "Hey ISIS, you were bombed by a woman... Oh yeah, hell came down on ISIS ins Syria because -- guess what -- the first female pilot, piloting for the UAE, leading the strikes. Dropped the bombs on ISIS on Monday night... On Tuesday, ESPN commentator Bill Simmons had some rather harsh words for NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, with regard to the Ray Rice press conference, on his podcast, B.S. Report . In his rant, Simmons said this: "It's such f**king bullsh*t. It really is, it's such f**king bullsh*t. For him to go on the press conference and pretend otherwise (that he didn't see the extended version of the tape and know what happened prior to the public), I was so insulted. We know you're lying... I really hope someone calls me or emails me and says I'm in trouble for anything I said about Roger Goodell because if one person says that to me, I'm going public. After this weekend's games, it seems as if columnists and ESPN talking heads are engaging in one quarterback debate after another. So, I thought I'd join the discussion. 1) With Kirk Cousins playing so well these past two weeks, should the Washington Redskins try to trade Robert Griffin III and continue starting Cousins? I'd wait until after the season to make that decision. If Cousins continues to play well and the 'Skins win a few games, I'd be "cautious" with bringing back Griffin. It'd be a somewhat similar scenario that Philadelphia faced last year with Nick Foles and Michael Vick. When Vick went down with an injury, Foles put up video game like numbers, and with the Eagles winning games, it was difficult to make the argument that Vick should return as the starter. The same is true in this scenario. Also, if Cousins continues to play well and Washington wins a few games, sitting Griffin will allow him to avoid further injury and potentially ma

Thursday Game: NY Giants at Washington Pick: Washington - Even though the Giants won their first game this past weekend, they still did everything in their power to keep Houston in the contest by turning the ball over. Washington, meanwhile, has scored 75 points in their past two games, and with quarterback Kirk Cousins on a roll and with the game at home, I like for the 'Skins to win this one by a touchdown. It's common for unhealthy cycles to bound in people's lives. Whether that be alcohol abuse during difficult times, finding oneself in abusive relationships, or becoming promiscuous after break-ups, even if we know deep down the cycles aren't healthy for us, it's often times very difficult to break these very cycles. As difficult as it might be to do this, however, if we don't eventually break these unhealthy cycles, it becomes increasingly likely that these unhealthy cycles will take control of and ultimately destroy our lives. Far-right wing site Barbwire , as it's known to do all too often, recently published a piece which would likely make approximately 89.4% of women scream expletives at the top of their lungs, all the while throwing purses at their computer monitors which were stationed on the article I'm about to write about. The article is entitled, "Feminist Theory, Human Nature And The 'Punch Seen Round The World,'" and was written by American Spectator correspondent and man voted most likely to marry a Fred Flintstone blow-up doll he mistakenly calls Wilma - Robert Stacy McCain. Yes, this article is centered around the Ray Rice elevator-punch incident. Over the past 24 hours or so, I've heard a great deal of talk on ESPN about the following topics in the NFL world (besides Adrian Peterson, Greg Hardy, and Ray Rice) and thought I'd chime in, because I've had to shake my head a great deal at some of the ESPN talking heads. 1) "Was Seattle exposed?" Uh, no... The defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks were not "exposed" due to a 30-21 road loss to the San Diego Chargers. The fact of the matter is, while Seattle has been nearly unbeatable at home the past 2+ years (16-1 to this point, 18-1 including the playoffs), they have been a good, but not great road team. Over that same time-frame, Seattle is 9-8 on the road (10-9 including the playoffs). So, no, in a road game where veterans Philip Rivers and Antonio Gates played about as close to perfection as a quarterback and tight end can, and still being in the game until close to the very end, does not mean Seattle was exposed - not by a long shot.

Following President Obama's "ISIS" speech last week, former John McCain running mate, Sarah Palin, had a few words for the president when she appeared on Hannity  (the show, not the man). During this discussion between the clueless and clueless-er, Palin said this: "To claim last night, also, our president saying ISIS is not Islamic, um, ISIS says they're Islamic. They are so full of deception that America should be concerned with the policies that are going on. And, as I watched the speech last night, Sean, the thought going through my mind is 'I owe America a global apology. Because John McCain, through all of this, John McCain should be our president.' He had the advice, today, still giving it to Barack Obama, and he will not listen to it, about the residual forces that must be left behind in order to secure the peace in Iraq that we had fought so hard for." Radio talk show host and man voted most likely to get married five times and die a virgin - Rush Limbaugh - has never been coy about offending people. This has especially been the case with regard to women. Well, based on a recent comment he made on his show, Limbaugh hasn't lost his touch with the ladies, including the four women he's married, I imagine. Liberal watchdog group Media Matters just released a report this morning which showcased just how obsessed and one-sided Fox News was with regard to their reporting on Benghazi. The study was conducted from the night of the attacks on September 11th of 2012 through early May of this year. Here are how some of the numbers break down during those 20 months: - 1,098 evening segments were aired on the attacks ( The Five , Special Report with Bret Baier , On the Record with Greta Van Susteren , The O'Reilly Factor , and Hannity ) - Special Report  led the way with 382 such segments - 244 segments were aired suggesting that "the Obama administration did not initially refer to the attacks in Benghazi as 'terror' or a 'terrorist act'" - 174 segments were aired in the month leading up to the 2012 presidential election - 478 segments "invoked the administration talking points used by former ambassador to the United Nations and current National Securit

On his weekly talk radio program, former Arizona State Senator Russell Pearce recently made some pretty wild remarks which forced him to resign as Arizona Republican Party's first vice chair this past Sunday. The main remark which landed him in hot water was this: "You put me in charge of Medicaid, the first thing I'd do is get [female recipients] Norplant, birth-control implants, or tubal ligations. Then, we'll test recipients for drugs and alcohol, and if you want to [reproduce] or use drugs or alcohol, then get a job."
