For Rudy Giuliani, time is NOT on his side

Due to the tragic ISIS attacks in Brussels, Belgium, politicians have been making the rounds on talk shows, providing their two cents on how to better combat terrorism. While many on the left have blamed discriminatory laws and many on the right have blamed refugees, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani decided to go a different route, saying the following as a guest on The O'Reilly Factor:

"She (Hillary Clinton) helped create ISIS. Hillary Clinton could be considered a founding member of ISIS. ... By being part of an administration that withdrew from Iraq. By being part of an administration that let [former Prime Minister Nouri al-] Maliki run Iraq into the ground, so you forced the Shiites to make a choice. By not intervening in Syria at the proper time. By being part of an administration that drew 12 lines in the sand and made a joke out of it."

The problem with the mayor's argument is the concept of time. Let me provide him a basic timeline of relevant events:

1999 - when ISIS was formed

2009-2013 - when Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State

2009-2016 - when Barack Obama was/is president

Given that, I can see Giuliani engaging in this conversation:

Giuliani: "When did ISIS start up again?"

Professor Britannica: "1999"

Giuliani: "...and when did Secretary Clinton, you know, become Secretary?"

Prof. Britannica: "2009-2013"

Giuliani: "Whoa! So you're telling me Hillary Rodham Clinton could be one of the founding members of ISIS?!? I think you are! Unbelievable! Just unbelievable!"

Given Mr. Giuliani's apparent ignorance on chronology, I have to believe he'll utter the following claims in the future:

- "Let's think about this for a moment here. The 9/11 terror attacks occurred in 2001. President Obama was elected president in 2008. So, I mean, common sense would tell you President Obama is responsible for 9/11!"

- "If Hillary Clinton becomes our next president, we can finally say that, without a doubt, the recession was all her fault! Period!"

- "Babies, man... It's the whole chicken-and-the-egg thing, you know? What came first, the sex or the pregnancy? I don't know, but my money's on the pregnancy!"

Yeah, with Rudy Giuliani, when it comes to speech and thoughts, we know darn well what came first - the speech, for his words are void of any actual thoughts.

Boycotting jukeboxes because of TouchTunes

I love music and enjoy hitting the bar(s) over the weekend, so naturally, when the mood strikes me, I've never been coy about playing some songs on the jukebox. This past Thursday, a friend of mine turned 50, so several friends of her's, including myself, all met up to celebrate the occasion. At around 9:30, a friend of mine and I both chipped in $5 to play some songs on the jukebox. Four hours and 231 skips later, we gave up on hearing the songs we had selected, and went home knowing we had just wasted $5. This wasn't the first time such a thing had happened to me (and many others), and due to that, I'll be boycotting jukeboxes. Why? The scam known as TouchTunes. You see, here's how the plot typically breaks down. A person (or group of people) downloads the TouchTunes app on his/her phone, consumes one too many adult beverages, and due to this, has less care for spending extra money to hear the songs of their choosing right NOW. That's the thing with TouchTun

The difference between "looking" and "checking out"

I may be way off with these numbers, but it's my approximation that at least 75% of individuals whom are involved in a serious relationship feel it's perfectly acceptable to "check out" members of the opposite sex they're not involved with. Meanwhile, approximately 25% either don't feel this is acceptable or aren't sure about the matter. I hadn't thought about this matter for a while, but since I've been dating a woman for about 8 months, the topic has been pondered about some. When reading or hearing others discuss this very issue, I often times hear comments similar to the following: "It's human nature to look." "There's nothing wrong with checking others out. I'm sure he/she does it too!" "It's fine to do it. Just don't tell your boyfriend/girlfriend about it or do it in front of them!" "It's natural to find people attractive." When observing the array of comments, I i
