OCT with guns + MDA in a restaurant =

In light of the tragic Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut last year, a group called Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America was formed. A chapter of this group met at the Blue Mesa Grill in Dallas, Texas on Saturday, only to witness around 40 individuals from the group Open Carry Texas (OCT) outside the restaurant unloading guns from the trunks of their vehicles in an obvious attempt to try and intimidate members of Moms Demand Action.

After spending two hours in the parking lot, the members of Open Carry Texas went to a nearby Hooters restaurant. The women from Moms Demand Action (MDA) were then able to leave the Blue Mesa Grill unscathed. After members of the group left the restaurant, MDA released a statement regarding the incident, calling the OCT "gun bullies," who "disagreed with our goal of changing America's gun laws and policies to protect our children and families."

In response, a member of OCT tweeted this message: "I guess I'm a #gunbullies #Comeandtakeit."

First off, this one person is not a "gun bullies." It is literally impossible for a single person to be labeled as any kind of "bullies."

Principal Hubert Humpy: "So, there are a lot of bullies in this school picking on you and your friends?"

Billy-Joe Bob-Smith Esquire: "Yeah!"

Humpy: "What are their names?"

Esquire: "Jimmy Slugger!"

Humpy: "Okay, and who else?"

Esquire: "That's it."

Humpy: "That's it?"

Esquire: "Yeah"

Humpy: "But you said 'bullies,' so there has to be more than one."

Esquire: "Nuh-uh"

Humpy: "Okay then. I'll be sure to talk to Jimmy. I recommend you go back to English class."

Also, why does this OCT member and many like him continually tell gun-control groups, "Come and take it!"? Come and take what? Their sanity? That may have waved bye-bye long ago, I'm afraid. Come and take their guns? Are they law-abiding citizens? Have they not been diagnosed with a serious mental condition? If they answered yes to both, the only person they have to fear taking away their guns is an angry ex-girlfriend.

Lastly, what were these OCT members thinking when concocting this oh so genius plan?

Billy Ray Glock: "Hey, yo, these four broads from that moms against guns group are meeting at a restaurant in the area. Think we should do something?"

Jonathan Gat: "Hell yeah! Let's call as many people as possible, load our trucks up with guns, head over to that restaurant, listen to some country music, chew some tobacco, and scare the crap out of those moms, and afterwards, we can all go to Hooters so we can look at some real women!"

Billy Ray: "You don't think that will make us look crazy at all?"

Jonathan: "Heck no! Besides, it'll give us a reason to go to Hooters!"

Billy Ray: "True dat, Gat. Well, I'll see you in a bit for some guns, chew, and boobs."

Boycotting jukeboxes because of TouchTunes

I love music and enjoy hitting the bar(s) over the weekend, so naturally, when the mood strikes me, I've never been coy about playing some songs on the jukebox. This past Thursday, a friend of mine turned 50, so several friends of her's, including myself, all met up to celebrate the occasion. At around 9:30, a friend of mine and I both chipped in $5 to play some songs on the jukebox. Four hours and 231 skips later, we gave up on hearing the songs we had selected, and went home knowing we had just wasted $5. This wasn't the first time such a thing had happened to me (and many others), and due to that, I'll be boycotting jukeboxes. Why? The scam known as TouchTunes. You see, here's how the plot typically breaks down. A person (or group of people) downloads the TouchTunes app on his/her phone, consumes one too many adult beverages, and due to this, has less care for spending extra money to hear the songs of their choosing right NOW. That's the thing with TouchTun...

The difference between "looking" and "checking out"

I may be way off with these numbers, but it's my approximation that at least 75% of individuals whom are involved in a serious relationship feel it's perfectly acceptable to "check out" members of the opposite sex they're not involved with. Meanwhile, approximately 25% either don't feel this is acceptable or aren't sure about the matter. I hadn't thought about this matter for a while, but since I've been dating a woman for about 8 months, the topic has been pondered about some. When reading or hearing others discuss this very issue, I often times hear comments similar to the following: "It's human nature to look." "There's nothing wrong with checking others out. I'm sure he/she does it too!" "It's fine to do it. Just don't tell your boyfriend/girlfriend about it or do it in front of them!" "It's natural to find people attractive." When observing the array of comments, I i...
