What I learned in Week 10 of the NFL regular season

- At an even 13-13 over the past two weeks, underdogs are giving major sports betters bigger headaches than everclear shots give anybody that isn't an alcoholic.

- Russell Wilson seems to have had much better "Luck" than either Andrew (of the same name) or RGIII when it comes to being drafted on a team with an actual defense. The Colts and Redskins allowed 72 points to teams with a combined record of 6-13.

- Perhaps Jacksonville would be ranked 3rd in college football this year, rather than 5th like I initially thought.

- With all the upsets that have been occurring of late, bye weeks may now be seen as victories for a lot of teams.

- For as many quarterbacks whom have suffered injuries in recent weeks, the league may want to provide all starters with red shirts to prevent them from ever getting hit (Mark Sanchez, E.J. Manual, Thad Lewis, Terrelle Pryor, Blaine Gabbert, Matt Schaub, Jake Locker, Brandon Weeden, Brian Hoyer, Michael Vick, Nick Foles, Jay Cutler, Christian Ponder, Josh Freeman, Aaron Rodgers, Sam Bradford, etc.).

- Announcers may want to watch the replay of the Cincinnati Bengals hail mary again and realize the Baltimore defender whom accidentally batted the ball up in the air wasn't 7'' tall and even after jumping several inches, wasn't able to swat the ball down. If he had been Shaquille O'Neal, then there wouldn't have been an excuse to make.

- Under Case Keenum's guidance, the Houston Texans are 2-1 after 30 minutes of play. Unfortunately, they're 0-3 after 60 minutes of play. Someone may want to remind the team that games don't end at halftime.

- The Carolina Panthers' 10-9 victory over the San Francisco 49ers may have been a defense enthusiast's wet dream. On the flip-side, however, it was a nightmare for those fond of the passing game. For the game, the teams combined to complete 27 of 54 pass attempts for 185 yards and two interceptions - an awful 3.4 yards per throw (2.1 for the Niners). If only the teams were given five downs a piece for the game...

- Michael Vick's career with the Philadelphia Eagles really started when Kevin Kolb went down with an injury and Vick stepped up his game enough to win the starting job. Oddly enough, it appears his career with the team may end after getting hurt and back-up Nick Foles came to the plate and stepped up big for the team. Vick may want to start looking for a job come 2014. I hear Oakland, Jacksonville, Cleveland, Minnesota, Tampa Bay, and Arizona may have openings...

- Speaking of the Eagles, the phrase "home sweet home" couldn't be further from the truth. While the team is a very impressive 5-1 on the road, they're 0-4 in the city of brotherly love. Word has it the "love" will be anything but brotherly if Philly makes that 0-5 with a loss to Washington this next week.

Boycotting jukeboxes because of TouchTunes

I love music and enjoy hitting the bar(s) over the weekend, so naturally, when the mood strikes me, I've never been coy about playing some songs on the jukebox. This past Thursday, a friend of mine turned 50, so several friends of her's, including myself, all met up to celebrate the occasion. At around 9:30, a friend of mine and I both chipped in $5 to play some songs on the jukebox. Four hours and 231 skips later, we gave up on hearing the songs we had selected, and went home knowing we had just wasted $5. This wasn't the first time such a thing had happened to me (and many others), and due to that, I'll be boycotting jukeboxes. Why? The scam known as TouchTunes. You see, here's how the plot typically breaks down. A person (or group of people) downloads the TouchTunes app on his/her phone, consumes one too many adult beverages, and due to this, has less care for spending extra money to hear the songs of their choosing right NOW. That's the thing with TouchTun

The difference between "looking" and "checking out"

I may be way off with these numbers, but it's my approximation that at least 75% of individuals whom are involved in a serious relationship feel it's perfectly acceptable to "check out" members of the opposite sex they're not involved with. Meanwhile, approximately 25% either don't feel this is acceptable or aren't sure about the matter. I hadn't thought about this matter for a while, but since I've been dating a woman for about 8 months, the topic has been pondered about some. When reading or hearing others discuss this very issue, I often times hear comments similar to the following: "It's human nature to look." "There's nothing wrong with checking others out. I'm sure he/she does it too!" "It's fine to do it. Just don't tell your boyfriend/girlfriend about it or do it in front of them!" "It's natural to find people attractive." When observing the array of comments, I i

The verdict is in. To no one's surprise, Jonathan Hoenig has been found guilty of being an idiot.

Just recently, when discussing the Michael Brown shooting and whether or not race had anything to do with it, Fox News contributor Jonathan Hoenig said, "You know who talks about race? Racists." One moment while I provide Mr. Hoenig with the well deserved slow-clap. :: slow-claps for two seconds :: So, that was quite the line by Mr. Hoenig, wasn't it? "You know who talks about race? Racists." Well, wasn't he just talking about race? So, by his own words, I guess that makes him a racist. Also, if he wants to be consistent, does this mean that people whom talk about gender are sexists and people whom talk about sexual orientation are homophobes? With that line of thinking, Hoenig would engage in the following back-and-forths: Hoenig: "So, who are you voting for?" A woman: "The Democratic candidate, because he's been adamant about his support for equal rights for women." Hoenig: "You sexist feminist nazi!"
