Well, here it is, my final blog of 2015! I hope all my readers have a fun and safe evening tonight and hope 2016 is your best year yet! Happy New Year everybody! Cheers!

After releasing four books in 2014, I focused mainly on marketing in 2015 and with good results. In 2016, I look to balance the two out a bit better. Expect at least one new book in the new year, if not more. They'll all be of the comedy variety (no matter how many I release). In the meantime, I'll continue writing plenty of satire, along with putting my two cents in on more serious topics as well. So, be sure to keep checking in with regard to all of that. I'll be certain to continually update readers on any progress I make with regard to future writing projects. Well, I just thought I'd let everyone know. Happy New Year!

After listening to former President George W. Bush speak for 8 years while in the Oval Office, it was easy to see why he was often labeled as less bright than his brother Jeb. However, after hearing Jeb speak on the campaign trail this year, not to mention in debates, one has to wonder if the gap in intelligence between the two brothers is less than we had originally thought. The latest such example came at a campaign event in Lexington, South Carolina, where the "brighter" Bush said this: "In fact when I was governor, in 16 months we had eight hurricanes and four tropical storms. One of them was called Katrina. I don't know why your great state senator reminds me of a hurricane. But she does." That's right, Jeb Bush basically referred to Democratic South Carolina state Senator Katrina Shealy as Hurricane Katrina. It's hard not to love hoaxes spread on Facebook, isn't it? The latest one making the rounds says this: "Mark Zuckerberg is going to give away 4.5 million shares of his Facebook stock tonight at midnight; 10% to people like you and me! All you have to do is copy and paste this to your page and post. Facebook is doing this to show what a powerful tool of connection it is !!! Can't wait to see who wins !!! This is not a hoax !!! While I had voted before, I didn't get seriously involved with politics until the 2008 election. My first election was in 2000 (when I was 19). I was in college, was focused more on partying and chasing girls than current events, and while I knew I leaned to the left, I didn't care a great deal about the world of politics. That all changed on 9/11 (when I was 20) when reality struck me (most of us) smack dab in the face and heart. I, and probably many others, was incredibly naive at that point in my life. I was a college kid, trying to find myself, trying to find what I wanted to do with my life, busy meeting new people, dating, and enjoying some semblance of independence/adulthood. Through all that, never did I think to myself we'd get struck by terrorists, we'd wage a seemingly endless war and lose thousands of our soldiers in the process, and my life would forever change by the horrific events on September 11th of 2001. After a grand jury decided not to indict Timothy Loehmann, the Cleveland officer who shot and killed 12-year-old Tamir Rice last year, debates have sparked across all media outlets, emotions running high in the process. While I can understand that it's inevitable for there to be differences of opinion on the subject, I'm amazed at the large quantity of Tamir Rice trolls making their presence known on numerous websites. Here's a very condensed summary of what happened. On November 22nd of last year, 12-year-old Tamir Rice was playing with a toy gun in a park, a witness called the police about the matter, informing them it was "probably fake," yet the individual who took the call didn't report this information to the police, and two seconds after the cops arrived, Officer Loehmann shot and killed Rice. I've heard all the arguments from those defending the cop's actions: - "The kid should have known to drop the gun when the cops arrived!" ...

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has come under recent scrutiny after Al Jazeera America aired a documentary,  The Dark Side , which insinuated the veteran quarterback may have taken HGH in 2011 when he was recovering from multiple neck surgeries. Investigative reporter Deborah Davies has since said the documentary never claimed to have proof the quarterback took HGH, only that HGH was delivered by Guyer Institute to Ashley Manning (Peyton's wife) in Florida on multiple occasions. My question is, even if Peyton Manning did take HGH while attempting to recover from injury, why should it matter? PEDs (performance-enhancing drugs) have been bastardized in the sports world, and rightly so if athletes use them to gain an unfair advantage on their competition (on the field/court/etc.). However, why, if an athlete and his/her doctor feel HGH (or another PED) will help speed up the recovery from an injury, is it also looked down upon? It would have been one thing if Peyton ...

I haven't had a strong feeling one way or the other with regard to Chip Kelly during his tenure with the Philadelphia Eagles. When he was first hired, I admit to being quite curious how his style of offense would transfer to the NFL, but at the same time, didn't firmly believe one way or the other on the matter. This curiosity was partly due to the talent and speed he would coach on the Eagles offense. Let's not forget, when Kelly first took over, the Philadelphia Eagles had: Michael Vick at quarterback, LeSean McCoy at tailback, as well as DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin at receiver. The team was fun, fast, and exciting in Kelly's first season there. Even when Vick went down with an injury, Nick Foles filled in admirably, playing so well he remained the team's starter for the remainder of the season. I'm not going to beat around the bush (literally or figuratively); it's been a rough end to the year. I'm still not exactly sure what happened Saturday night. Everything's still kind of a blur (and yes, I was completely sober). All I can remember is alternately feeling warm and cold, being unusually shaky, and before I knew it, experiencing heart palpitations like never before, having extreme difficulty breathing, and reaching a point where I thought I wasn't going to live much longer. An emergency vehicle arrived shortly thereafter, rushed me to a local hospital, where I got fully hydrated and settled down, to the point where I was released early the next morning. It was a struggle the next three days, though, as I found myself having trouble sleeping, feeling anxious as deja vu struck me while laying in bed, and thinking about my breathing, almost paranoid about it, much more than usual. As I often do on Twitter anymore, I was busy poking fun of Donald Trump last night. One of the top trending hashtags was #5WordTrumpSlogans. I posted approximately ten such hashtags, one of which was, "Offending Everyone Without Any Consequences." To this, I heard from a self-described constitutional conservative, who said, "They only people offended are anti-white #RadicalMarxists like you," later adding, "Anti-white muslim supporters." That's right, ladies and gentlemen; I've been busted. As a white person myself, I'm apparently anti-white, and therefore anti-self. Yes, it perplexes me as well... It's ironically hilarious this man describes himself as a constitutional conservative, yet labels me as anti-white and pro-Muslim, for while I don't adhere to any religion myself, I believe everyone has the constitutional right to believe in whatever faith they so choose, including Christians, and yes, Muslims. I was going to write about this earlier, but having read ESPN senior writer Ian O'Connor's recent article, it appears as if he took the words out of my mouth with regard to the Odell Beckham Jr. situation and I thought I'd share that. Having watched a good chunk of the Carolina Panthers/New York Giants game on Sunday, I was both befuddled and slightly irritated to hear so many sports analysts and columnists place the full blame on 2nd year Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. for the, at times, ugly skirmishes during the Panthers' 38-35 victory. Granted, it appeared as if Beckham definitely lost his cool for a while, he was rightly flagged on three separate occasions, and deserved both a fine and a one-game suspension for his unruly and potentially dangerous behavior. Public Policy Polling (PPP) released an interesting finding today. It's funny; just yesterday I wrote about how sick and tired I was with the right's paranoid let's-bomb-them-all-before-they-bomb-us mentality. Well, according to PPP's latest finding, it does appear a decent percentage of Republicans would be in favor of bombing just about anything. According to this poll, it found that 30% of Republicans would be in favor of bombing Agrabah - a fictional city in Disney's Aladdin . Here's how the complete poll numbers to that question break down by party: Q: "Would you be in favor of bombing Agrabah?" In a recent airing of ESPN Radio's Waddle & Silvy show, former NBA great and current NBA analyst Charles Barkley had this to say about the 25-1 and defending champion Golden State Warriors: "That Bulls team would kill this little team. Come on, man. Who is going to guard Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan? What about Dennis Rodman?" He added: "Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman -- let me just start with those three. First of all they would love playing the way the Warriors play. It's a much easier game now. Could you imagine how many points Michael would average if you couldn't touch him? As the Republican Party veers further and further to the right, I find myself disagreeing with them more by the day. However, when one such politician goes against the grain and risks his/her political livelihood in order to stand up for what's right, I'll be the first one to acknowledge and thank them for doing so. That brings me to New York Representative Richard Hanna, a Republican, who recently said the following on the Keeler in the Morning radio show with regard to Planned Parenthood: "Do you really want women not to have access to health care? And do you believe in a woman's right to have domain over her own body, or the government's?" He added, "If Republicans are able to successfully outlaw abortion, it would have dire consequences. Do you really want it to go to back rooms?" This wasn't the first time the New York representative spoke out against his party veering too far to the right. Some people are taking this "War on Christmas" thing way too far. Take Texas agriculture commissioner Sid Miller for example. The Republican elected official recently wrote this on his Facebook page: "People must say Merry Christmas to me or nothing at all. If one more person says Happy Holidays to me I just might slap them. Either tell me Merry Christmas or just don't say anything." With these comments, he included a picture of a cowboy on a horse, with pharmacy sign reading, "We Will Never Take Christ Out Of Christmas." No, the pagan roots of the holiday wasn't taking "Christ out of Christmas." Jesus' birthday not being on December 25th wasn't taking "Christ out of Christmas." Donald Trump's doctor, Harold Bornstein, recently released the GOP presidential frontrunner's medical report, and I felt the need to share it with readers. Apparently, when one hangs around The Donald enough, he/she starts speaking like him. Here's the medical report, and no, this is not an Onion article: "To Whom My Concern:  I have been the personal physician of Mr. Donald J. Trump since 1980. His previous physician was my father, Dr. Jacob Bornstein. Over the past 39 years, I am pleased to report that Mr. Trump has no significant medical problems. Mr. Trump has had a recent complete medical examination that showed only positive results. Actually, his blood pressure, 110/65, and laboratory test results were astonishingly excellent. The small town of Woodland, North Carolina has been in the news quite a bit lately. After Woodland's town council voted 3-1 against a proposal to rezone land for a solar farm, citizens were asked how they felt about the ruling, with a few providing some rather interesting comments, such as: "[The solar farms would] suck up all the energy from the sun" and "[Solar farms] could cause cancer." Maybe it's due to the holiday season quickly approaching us (and being lazy in the process), but I've witnessed an increasing number of misleading and/or out-of-context headlines over the past couple weeks. The latest of which comes to us courtesy of ESPN, which published the following headline this morning: "Mike Pettine: I respect Russell Wilson, but QB not in top tier." Here's how ESPN staff writer Pat McManamon starts his piece: "Cleveland Browns coach Mike Pettine doesn't consider Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks among the top three or four quarterbacks in the NFL. I read an article on the left-leaning website Salon  recently which suggested it might be better in the long-term if a far-right conservative won the 2016 presidential election, so more could see how disastrous an experience it would be, wake up in the process, and be more apt to voting Democratic in the years following. I've always despised this line of thinking, for regressive changes in the short-term could have significant impacts in the long-term. However, for as much as I and many others fight to prevent those regressive changes, based on all I see and hear, maybe this country deserves a president like Donald Trump.
