Business owners panic at the thought of an Obama second term!

Illinois Republican Representative Joe Walsh added to the chorus of rich conservatives wanting to garner votes for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney by suggesting that business owners and managers tell their fellow employees that if they don't vote for Romney, they may be out of a job.

Walsh said:

"Spread the word! If you run, own or manage a company, tell your employees! What was the CEO this week that said, if Obama is re-elected, I may have to let all of you go next year? If Obama's re-elected, if the Democrats take Congress, I may not be able to cover your health insurance next year. If there's ever a year where people who run, manage, or own their companies are going to energize their employees, it better be this year. We're up against it."

This reminds me of the NRA. Preceding the 2008 election, the NRA told gun enthusiasts that if Obama got elected, the 2nd Amendment could be history. Four years later, with the 2nd Amendment still standing tall, the NRA is saying, "The first four years was all an act. If he's elected again, our 2nd Amendment rights will be no more!"

So now these uber-rich CEO's are saying something similar. Let me provide an exaggerated example:

"Sure, our business is still here after four years with the current president in the White House. Business has actually been improving, especially over the past year. But, don't let those numbers fool you. If this guy is elected for another four years, our business may not last much longer and because of that, you'll all be out of a job. You see, even though business will probably be fine and even improve with another four years of Obama as president, he'll likely raise taxes on a company such as ours and instead of me taking away $3 billion, I'll only take away $2 billion. I need my fifteen cars, seven yachts, three islands and lifetime supply of miniature condoms. If I'm not able to purchase all that with my poor salary of $2 billion after taxes, I'm going to be a very unhappy man. This will mean I'll have to fire many of you, so I can buy that third island, a few more cars and of course, my much needed lifetime supply of mini condoms. So, the choice is yours. Be selfless, for the sake of me, and vote for Mitt Romney, so that you can hang on to this job and I can have my condoms. I'm now off to the restroom, where I will need to sit down to urinate, for as fat as I am and as tiny as 'it' is, I can no longer see the thing while standing at the urinal. Thank you and have a nice day."

Boycotting jukeboxes because of TouchTunes

I love music and enjoy hitting the bar(s) over the weekend, so naturally, when the mood strikes me, I've never been coy about playing some songs on the jukebox. This past Thursday, a friend of mine turned 50, so several friends of her's, including myself, all met up to celebrate the occasion. At around 9:30, a friend of mine and I both chipped in $5 to play some songs on the jukebox. Four hours and 231 skips later, we gave up on hearing the songs we had selected, and went home knowing we had just wasted $5. This wasn't the first time such a thing had happened to me (and many others), and due to that, I'll be boycotting jukeboxes. Why? The scam known as TouchTunes. You see, here's how the plot typically breaks down. A person (or group of people) downloads the TouchTunes app on his/her phone, consumes one too many adult beverages, and due to this, has less care for spending extra money to hear the songs of their choosing right NOW. That's the thing with TouchTun...

The difference between "looking" and "checking out"

I may be way off with these numbers, but it's my approximation that at least 75% of individuals whom are involved in a serious relationship feel it's perfectly acceptable to "check out" members of the opposite sex they're not involved with. Meanwhile, approximately 25% either don't feel this is acceptable or aren't sure about the matter. I hadn't thought about this matter for a while, but since I've been dating a woman for about 8 months, the topic has been pondered about some. When reading or hearing others discuss this very issue, I often times hear comments similar to the following: "It's human nature to look." "There's nothing wrong with checking others out. I'm sure he/she does it too!" "It's fine to do it. Just don't tell your boyfriend/girlfriend about it or do it in front of them!" "It's natural to find people attractive." When observing the array of comments, I i...
