Since the Seattle Seahawks' 23-17 win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, there has been more talk about Pro Bowl cornerback Richard Sherman's post-game comments than about the coming Super Bowl between his team and the Denver Broncos. After Sherman made his comments, the Twittersphere went bonkers - with many people referring to the Seattle cornerback as a "thug." Being born in Nebraska and having lived there for 26 of my 32 years, a large majority of the people I know still reside in the Cornhusker state and keep in touch with me via Facebook. Following the Seattle Seahawks' 23-17 win over the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game on Sunday night, I've been rather surprised by the number of Nebraska fans whom have harshly criticized Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman's post-game comments - going as far as to call him an a*shole, who is bound to be in a prison cell one day. While I'd be the first to admit that Sherman's comments were over-the-top, I also think the story has gotten completely blown out-of-proportion and I find it highly ironic that, Nebraska fans of all people, have the gall to say such things with regard to Sherman's post-game rant. I'm reading and hearing a lot of complaints about Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman's post-game comments after his team defeated the San Francisco 49ers 23-17 to reach the Super Bowl. It was Sherman's deflection in the end zone late in the game which resulted in an interception and sealed the victory for the Seahawks. After the game, Sherman was fired up and had the following words for Erin Andrews: "I'm the best corner in the game! When you try me with a sorry receiver like Crabtree, that's the result you're going to get! Don't you ever talk about me! ... Don't you open your mouth about the best or I'm going to shut it for you real quick!" Most of the complaints were with regard to a lack of class or sportsmanship displayed by Sherman. ESPN columnist Bill Simmons got into trouble for some critical tweets he made regarding the ESPN show First Take and its back-and-forth between the always-wrong commentator Skip Bayless and Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman. At one point in the back-and-forth, Sherman told Bayless, "I'm better at life than you." Simmons responded to the segment by tweeting the following messages: "It's amazing to me that people get so worked up about First Take. Who cares? Just don't watch it.
