Former Vice President Joe Biden has come under scrutiny over the past week for what has been deemed as inappropriate behavior around women. It started with Lucy Flores alleging Biden had once placed his hands on her shoulders, sniffed her hair, and planted a kiss on the top of her head. A second accuser has since come forward alleging the 2020 Democratic front-runner of pulling her toward him and rubbing noses with her on one occasion. There was also a photo which went viral of Biden placing his hands on the shoulders of the wife of former Defense Secretary Ash Carter, Stephanie Carter, while whispering something into her ear. The social media mob immediately went to work before Ms. Carter said she was grateful for what Biden did. She called him a great friend who was simply trying to be supportive and relax her. I have a love-hate relationship with HBO personality and fellow progressive Bill Maher. While I tend to agree with his viewpoints approximately 80% of the time, my opinions run in stark contrast to his the other 20%. Even when I do agree with him on a subject, there's a good chance he'll go so overboard with a rant, it'll make me cringe as a result. Having said all that, I definitely agree with what he said regarding Hollywood's evolution of wokeness in Friday's episode of Real Time . Apparently, Molly Ringwald of the John Hughes teen classic, Breakfast Club , has recently said, in hindsight, she finds that film and others like it to be troubling in the age of the #MeToo movement. Motivational speakers and televangelists are like talking lines of cocaine (from what I've heard). While they may temporarily make you feel good and believe that you can do anything, they often times lead to long-lasting negative effects. That leads me to motivational speaker Tony Robbins, who has gotten himself into some hot water with his recent comments regarding the #MeToo movement. When speaking to a crowd in San Jose, California, he made the following remarks: - "If you use the #MeToo movement to try to get significance and certainty by attacking and destroying someone else, you haven't grown an ounce. All you've done is basically use a drug called significance to make yourself feel good." - "I was with someone the other day. Very famous man, very powerful man. Modern Family star Sarah Hyland is receiving a great deal of criticism for her post-Golden Globes Instagram video, where she acts drunk (she's sober) and flirts with an old male bellhop, who catches her when she falls after trying to exit the elevator. Under the video is the caption, "2018 starting off great. Tip #1: When you drink alone. Drink alone w/ #JohntheBellHop @instylemagazine #goldenglobes party." She later defended herself, posting, "#JohntheBellHop is a very nice old man. FYI. Actor and notable "good guy" Matt Damon has come under fire in recent days for some comments he made regarding sexual assault and harassment in an interview on ABC News's Popcorn With Peter Travers . Given the incredibly hot-button status of the matter at this current juncture, perhaps it would have been wise for Damon to have gone a more cautious route, but I digress. Before providing my take on things, here's what Damon said to Travers: - "I think we're in this watershed moment. I think it's great. I think it's wonderful that women are feeling empowered to tell their stories, and it's totally necessary ... I do believe that there's a spectrum of behavior, right?
