A conversation with Melania Trump

Anderson Cooper: "So, how have you been liking this weather we've been having in the area? Too hot for me, I tell you!" Melania Trump: "I'm only happy when it rains. I'm only happy when it's complicated. And though I know you can't appreciate it. I'm only happy when it rains." Cooper: "Okay then. Let's move on to something else. With your husband as the Republican presidential nominee, going head-to-head with Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, if Secretary Clinton were here right at this very moment, what would you have to say to her?" Trump: "I don't like a thing about your mother. And I, I hate your daddy's guts too. I don't like a thing about your sister, no, no. 'Cause I, I, I, think sex is overrated too." Cooper: "Secretary Clinton's parents have passed and she doesn't have a sister. I won't even comment on that other bit. Perhaps I should go a different route and give y...

The Inevitable Plagiartastic Donald Trump Speech

Due to the plagiaristic tendencies of the Trump family during the Republican National Convention (RNC), it's quite possible Donald's speech on Thursday night will go a little something like this: "Good evening ladies and germs, Can you hear me now? Good. I have a dream. I wish I was a little bit taller. I wish I was a baller. I wish I had a girl who looked good, I would call her. I wish I had a rabbit in a hat with a bat and a six four Impala. Men are from Mars, women are from Venus. Bros before hos. You better check yo self before you wreck yo self. There is no such thing as a stupid question. To be or not to be - that is the question. Love conquers all. Love and marriage, love and marriage, it's the institute you can't disparage. Third time's a charm. Honesty is the best policy. I like big butts and I cannot lie. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Patience is a virtue. Good things come to those who wait. The only two guarantees in lif...

Coming soon: A plagiarism ad - brought to you by Rand Paul

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul has had a bit of a rough week. On not one, but two separate occasions this past week, the Senator has faced plagiarism allegations. In light of this, Senator Paul may have to try and improve his image by releasing a rather personal ad (no, not for dating). It will probably go a little something like this: "Hello. I'm Randal Howard 'Rand' Paul, was born on January 7th of 1963, and am the junior United States Senator for Kentucky. I'm a member of the Republican Party, am the son of former U.S. Representative and presidential candidate Ron Paul of Texas. I first received national attention in 2008 when making political speeches on behalf of my father, who was campaigning for the Republican Party's nomination for president. I am the first senator to have served simultaneously with a parent in the United States House of Representatives. Recently, I've been accused of plagiarism, which is an act or instance of using or closely imita...

Rand Paul: "If I were a journalism teacher..."

Kentucky Senator and inventor of the ever-so-popular hairdo pubehead - Rand Paul - has decided to lash out on the members of the media whom reported two separated cases of plagiarism by the Senator. In an interview with National Review 's Robert Costa, Paul said the following: "What makes me mad about the whole thing is that I believe there is a difference between errors of omission and errors of intention. We aren't perfect and we have made errors of omission, but we never intended to mislead anybody. I'm being criticized for not having proper attribution, and yet they are able to write stuff that if I were their journalism teacher in college, I would fail them." Did Rand Plagiarism Paul really just pull out the if-I-were-their-journalism-teacher-in-college card? If Rand Paul were a journalism teacher in college, he'd say: - "Remember, class - sources are for sissies!" - "Never bastardize the word plagiarize, because to plagiarize...

Rand Paul's middle name may be Plagiarism

It's another day and we have another reported case of Kentucky Senator Rand Paul being guilty of plagiarism. Not long after Paul was caught plagiarizing Wikipedia's page with regard to the film Gattaca , it appears as if, in a September Washington Times column on drug sentencing, he plagiarized a Dan Stewart article from The Week a week earlier. Here are some of the similarities: Stewart: "At least 20 states, both red and blue, have reformed their mandatory sentencing laws in some way, and Congress is considering a bipartisan bill that would do the same for federal crimes." Paul: "At least 20 states, both red and blue, have reformed their mandatory-sentencing laws in some way, and Congress is considering a bipartisan bill that would do the same for federal crimes." Stewart: "He will be 72 by the time he is released, and his three young children will have grown up without him. 'Matt,' who turned out to have a long history of drug offense...

Wikipedia + Gattaca + Plagiarism = Rand Paul

Let's not beat around the bush here (no, especially not around Dubya) - Kentucky Senator Rand Paul is a strange guy. With that Chia Pet-like hair of his, he appears to some as a mad scientist, but to me he just looks plain mad. Paul didn't diminish this odd image of his any with the speech he gave yesterday at a rally in support of Virginia gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli. His speech centered around the '90s science-fiction film Gattaca  and as pointed out by MSNBC host Rachel Maddow, it appears as if Mr. Paul may have taken the film's description directly from Wikipedia. Here are a few of the highlights (or lowlights): Paul: "In the movie Gattaca--inthe not-too-distant future, eugenics is common. And DNA plays a primary role in determining your social class." Wikipedia: "In the not-too-distant future, liberal eugenics is common and DNA plays the primary role in determining social class." Paul: "Due to frequent screenings, Vincent ...

"The Land of the Plagiarites" (a poem I wrote)

This poem can be found on pages 32-33 of "Seasons Come, People Grow: A Poetic Journey". Been there, Done that, Heard of it, Said it, What is there left to be said? What is there left to do? Every action and word enacted, Copied and pasted unto you, Our lives are constant imitations, Constant emulations, Constant mockings, Constant plagiarism, Every word in this poem is plagiarized, Every word of every single day, What is a new experience to me, Is old for another, What's new? How I never understood that phrase, Absolutely nothing, This is the land of the plagiarites.
