While some conservatives have openly admitted that, "It's inevitable; we're going to lose the gay marriage rights battle," others continue to be in denial. One such group is the Family Research Council (FRC), which wrote the following in their daily email blast: "[There is] growing opposition [among middle-aged adults]. The gap is widening between Millennials and their Generation X counterparts. ...the children of Madonna and Ferris Bueller are noticeably more reluctant to redefine marriage than they used to be." This claim was made due to the results found in two Pew Research Center polls released in 2005 and 2015. I've felt for some time that Mike Huckabee has been veering further and further to the side I like to refer to as "crazy town," but based on his most recent such comments, it appears as if the man has now officially lost it and will now be permanently residing in crazy town. "Jerry" Boykin recently gave an interesting speech on behalf of the Family Research Council at the WallBuilders' Pro-Family Legislators Conference, where he said the following: "The Lord is a warrior and in Revelation 19 it says when he comes back, he's coming back as what? As I've written about previously, Republican Ohio Senator Rob Portman made news not long ago after writing an op-ed in the Columbus Dispatch sharing his support for gay marriage rights, largely due to his son Will coming out of the closet. While some liberals have not been very forgiving of Senator Portman due to his previous anti-gay marriage rights commentary, I've tried to welcome the man to the ever expanding circle fighting for gay rights. Also, while some liberals have not been very welcoming of Senator Portman's evolved views on the issue of gay rights, it has appeared as if most die-hard conservatives have been even less welcoming of them. The far right-wing Family Research Council has shown their true colors yet again, those of: Lunacy, denial, ignorance, narrow-mindedness, and cavemen. Not only have they come after gays' sex and marriage rights, but they're now coming after single people's sex and birth control rights, regardless of their orientation.
