While I've been a member of Facebook for roughly 5 years now and frequently make use of it to keep in touch with friends and family across the country, as well as to try and spread word about my written work, the site does get on my nerves at times. There are times I just have to scratch my head when reading some posts and wonder, "Why on earth did you feel the need to post that information on a social networking site? Why not tell the person face-to-face?" This is usually in regard to lovey-dovey posts about a boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, or wife, or posts celebrating a holiday, like today - Father's Day. I can't tell you how many posts I've read today from sons and daughters alike, which say something along the lines of, "Happy Father's Day to the best dad in the world! Thanks, dad!
