The Texas Governor's race is starting to get interesting, as reports have recently showed that Democrat candidate Wendy Davis outraised Republican candidate Greg Abbott last month. Remember the days when African-Americans had to regularly worry about segregation, lynchings, and the Ku Klux Klan? Well, one conservative Facebook group would like to carry on the tradition of lynching, and not just any African-American, but the President of the United States - Barack Obama. The Facebook group "America the next generation" recently posted a photo of President Obama in a noose, which included a caption that read, "The making of a National Holiday." After receiving plenty of criticism for the post, the creator of it took it down and posted the following message: "OK by are own choice out of respect of our regular followers that requested us to remove the post with the noose around Obamas head, [W]e did so out of Respect to them and we will take the high road!" Chris Nogy, husband of Benton County (Arkansas) GOP secretary Leigh Nogy, had a few interesting things to write in the April edition of the Benton County Republican Party newsletter concerning GOP state legislators whom voted to expand Medicaid in the state. In this newsletter, Nogy wrote: "So what do we do? While I believe that we as a party are done in Arkansas after this, if there is ANY hope of our survival, it is going to take not being forgiving. Not only for past actions, but to show those who will come in the future that the cost of failure to do the thing they were elected to do will be significant.
