Women have a message for CeeLo Green: "F*#k You. Ooo-ooo-oooo!"

Artist and former co-judge/coach on The Voice , CeeLo Green, recently took to Twitter to defend himself on charges of rape. While Green contends that he and the woman had consensual sex, she claims that she woke up in a bed next to the musician and couldn't recall what happened the night before. On Twitter, Green defended himself of the accusations by posting the following two messages (among others): "if someone is passed out they're not even WITH you consciously! so WITH Implies consent" and "when someone brakes on a home there is broken glass where is your plausible proof anyone was raped" Yes, CeeLo Green has gone the philosophical route by asking the ever so tiring question, "If I stick my penis in you and you don't remember, did it really happen?" Ladies, how would you like to respond to CeeLo? "We see you driving 'round town with roofies to share, and we're like, 'F*#k you!' Ooo, ooo, oooo, As if te...

What if an online dating site were actually a bar?

Online dating is an interesting phenomenon which appears to be steadily growing in popularity. While I've given such sites a gander on multiple occasions, despite its growing popularity, I see many pros and cons about such sites. As far as pros go, I think the main one is, unlike when attempting to start a conversation with someone at a bar and only going off their physical appearance to prompt you to do so, these sites provide a great deal more information, which can be quite helpful. As I've always said, no matter how physically attractive a person might be, that attraction can only hold my interest for so long before I get bored and lose complete interest in getting to know her better, and I start thinking, "Well, if I had known she couldn't hold a decent conversation before approaching her, I would have saved myself this headache and not talked to her at all." At least with online profiles, it can save people time, energy, and money on Advil, because they...

Can't we keep our love lives private anymore?

Why do some people think the world needs to know about their love lives via Facebook statuses? I might be in the minority on this anymore, but I just don't understand that. Wouldn't it come across as more heartfelt, spontaneous, and genuine to tell a significant other what you feel for them face-to-face or at the very least, over the telephone (no, not through texting)? Doesn't spreading that very message to hundreds of friends and family members through Facebook kind of detract from the sentiments coming across as genuine? These statuses just come across as phony to me, which is why I'll never post them. If I truly want to emotionally touch a person I love, I'm going to express those feelings directly to them and not just hope that they read it along with hundreds of others.  Also, what is with people "liking" some of these statuses? Is it just the thought of, "Well, he'd/she'd probably like that I 'like' this, so I will." or ...

"Long-Distance" (another poem of mine)

As you could probably guess, this can be found in my book, "Seasons Come, People Grow: A Poetic Journey" (pages 63-64). I give you a call, Expecting nothing, The phone rings constantly, No one answering, Only time I hear your voice is on the machine, I contemplate leaving a message, Pessimistic of getting a call back, Frustrated of the inequitous effort, I dial your number, A busy signal comes up, Discovering that you were certainly home, Just had no need nor desire to talk, No matter how many times I call, There is no getting through, You seem so distant and far away, Even though I lay right beside you.
