Acting Childish - brought to you by the Tea Party

Let's review a few significant events in the world of politics over the past few years. 1. Barack Obama was elected president in 2008. 2. He signed a healthcare reform bill which became known as Obamacare. 3. The case got taken to the Supreme Court and was ruled as Constitutional. 4. The Republican Party went after Obamacare and promised to repeal it if they won enough elections in 2012. 5. Obama was re-elected in 2012 and Democrats picked up seats in both the House and the Senate. 6. Obamacare is scheduled to be mostly implemented as of January 1st, 2014. 7. House Republicans tried repealing, defunding, and delaying Obamacare even though Democrats controlled the Senate and the president, who the bill was named after (according to the GOP), was also a Democrat. 8. After these efforts failed, the House decided to shutdown the government until they got their way. Notice a theme with this series of events? Republicans lost. The 2008 presidential election? John McCain and the GOP - 76 going on 13

Remember President George W. Bush and the Iraq War during his term? Remember how his popularity seemed to dwindle by the day following the peak at 9/11, and how support for his decision to invade Iraq seemed to diminish by the day as well? Especially after it was reported that the country possessed no weapons of mass destruction, which is why we invaded them in the first place? Yeah, those were the days, right? Why do I bring this up? I'll let Arizona Senator and rumored co-lead to the upcoming film Grumpiest Old Men John McCain explain the reasoning. Keep in mind that Chuck Hagel is a former Republican Senator of Nebraska. McCain explained the reason for filibustering the former Republican Senator as follows: "It goes back to there's a lot of ill will towards Senator Hagel because when ...

Newt vs. Moderators

Some people want to believe that Republican presidential candidate, Newt Gingrich, is a top-of-the-line debater, that he's superior to Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama. I've seen the guy debate. He doesn't bring substance to the debate. He brings noise and lots of it. This is why some make the claim that he's a good debater - he's not afraid to be loud and obnoxious, much like the talking heads on conservative radio and Fox "News". Want talking points? Newt's your guy! Want interruptions? Newt's your guy! Want loud and obnoxious? Guess what? Newt's your guy! Want someone who thinks he can and should moderate the debate he's talking part in? You guessed it - Newt's your guy! This is all it takes for some people. When Juan Williams asked Newt to clarify upon his "food stamps" comment, asking if he thought it was disrespectful to the African-American community, Newt simply responded with "no". That's all it ...
