The Republican Party went after Obamacare and promised to repeal it if they won enough elections in 2012. 5. Obama was re-elected in 2012 and Democrats picked up seats in both the House and the Senate. 6. Obamacare is scheduled to be mostly implemented as of January 1st, 2014. 7. House Republicans tried repealing, defunding, and delaying Obamacare even though Democrats controlled the Senate and the president, who the bill was named after (according to the GOP), was also a Democrat. 8.
