A Democratic Checklist

I keep seeing and hearing self-described liberals/progressives saying things such as, “We’re done with the Democratic Party!” “The Democratic Party is just as bad as the Republican Party!” and “I’m either not voting or voting 3 rd party from here on!” First off, the two parties are not remotely the same. Let’s compare January 6 th from 2021 to 2025. Notice any differences? If not, I seriously recommend you schedule an appointment with your optometrist, stat! Given the fact so many registered Democrats stayed home this past November, however, it seems rather obvious to me some changes need to be made moving forward. Yes, I’m going to run through said changes. 1)     1)   Chutes for Leaders : With all due respect to the likes of Joe Biden, Chuck Schumer, and Nancy Pelosi, amongst others, it’s high past time for party leaders to get a makeover. No, I don’t mean Senator Schumer should go Twisted Sister; I mean it’s time for some new faces atop the Democratic P...

The Road Ahead for Democrats

I'm not going to overreact to the election results. Let's face it: Republicans were favored to win the Senate (they did); Trump was favored to win the election (he did); and the House was viewed as a coin flip (we're still not sure what the exact numbers are, but the margin, either way, will be quite narrow). Having said that, the Republican Party will likely control the House, the Senate, and the Oval Office, at least for 2 years. It's times like these pundits will overreact and suggest the party on the short-end will need to undergo a drastic transformation, if they ever want to aspire to garner control, in any capacity, again. Okay, hold up there, Sparky. Let's settle this thing down. There are only two major political parties in the United States. Until a 3rd one comes into existence, voters will continue to go back and forth between Republicans and Democrats. Remember when Biden beat Trump in 2020 and Democrats exceeded even their wildest of expectations in the...

The State of Complaints

Presidential Nominee Complaints Democrats: "Trump's a rapist!" Republicans: "Oh yeah? Well, Kamala's a tough boss!" Democrats: "Trump's a fraud!" Republicans: "That's nothing! Kamala once dated Montel Williams!" Democrats: "Trump's a felon!" Republicans: "Oh, stop! Kamala was too hard on criminals!" Vice Presidential Nominee Complaints Democrats: "JD Vance is a sexist!" Republicans: "You think that's a gotcha? Well, Tim Walz likes dogs!" Democrats: "Vance is an a$$hole!" Republicans: "Shut it! Walz cares about the well-being of children!" Democrats: "Vance is a phony!" Republicans: "Walz served this country!" #MAGACultMorons #VoteKamalaHarrisAndTimWalz2024ToSaveAmerica

Democrats can't get out of their own way, as Republicans try to block all paths to democracy

Donald Trump cannot be President again. The guy was a complete disaster in his first term, and rest assured, a second term would be 45 times worse. Here's Trump's track-record since becoming president: - 38 times he said COVID would vanish - 1 time he suggested injecting disinfectant could rid one of COVID - 2.72M jobs lost - Just 6.409M jobs gained in his first 3 years, prior to COVID - 192k manufacturing jobs lost - +/-0.0% inflation - +14.8% wages (compared to +16.9% under Biden) - +2.6% GDP (compared to +2.9% under Biden) - +430.5% budget deficit - +37.7% national debt - +25.5% homicide rate - +17.0% firearm deaths - 30,573 lies told - Just 28% approval abroad - 2 impeachments (3 counts) - 34 felony convictions - 54 felony charges pending - Once found liable for fraud - Twice found liable for defamation - Once found liable for rape - Etc. The guy was, is, and always will be a disgrace to the office. What has he said he'd do if he served a second term?  Be a dictator on ...

Podcast: "I Feel Snitty" Episode 33: Freak Out at Bernie's Premiere Date: 2/28/20 Length: 14:11 (2,287 words) Link: https://ifeelsnitty.podbean.com/e/freak-out-at-bernies/ Transcript: Welcome to I Feel Snitty, episode 33, entitled, “Freak Out at Bernie’s.” I’m your host, Craig Rozniecki. Today’s show is going to be lighter in tone and subject matter than usual. Yeah, so the world is about to end. No, I’m not talking about the coronavirus. I’m talking about democratic socialist Bernie Sanders’ inevitable nomination to the top of the Democratic ticket for the 2020 presidential election against Donald Trump. The Doomsday Democrats, as I call them, have said each of the following: - “Bernie Sanders is going to destroy the Democratic Party!” - “He will get demolished in the election and we’ll have four more years of Donald Trump!” - “Not only that, but we’ll lose control of the House and have no chance at reclaiming control of the Senate!” - “He will se...

Podcast: "I Feel Snitty," Episode 33: "Freak Out at Bernie's," is now available!

The latest episode of my podcast ( I Feel Snitty ), entitled, "Freak Out at Bernie's," is now available! Here's a brief description of it: Like Weekend at Bernie's, where a pair of guys walk around with a dead man, it's being said by many establishment Democrats that if the Democratic Party nominates Bernie Sanders to face Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election, the party will essentially die. This episode is a strong dose of Prozac for said establishment Democrats. You're welcome. The episode can be heard in its entirety here:  https://ifeelsnitty.podbean.com/e/freak-out-at-bernies/

Democratic Candidate Rankings (Post-Debate)

Here are my rankings from after the eighth Democratic debate ( https://thekind-heartedsmartaleck.blogspot.com/2020/02/democratic-candidate-rankings-post_20.html ). Here now are my rankings post-debate #9, with the change in their rankings noted in parentheses: 8) Tom Steyer (-1) 7) Bernie Sanders (-3) 6) Tulsi Gabbard (+/-0) 5) Michael Bloomberg (+3) 4) Joe Biden (+1) 3) Elizabeth Warren (-2) 1-tie) Pete Buttigieg (+1) 1-tie) Amy Klobuchar (+2)

Democratic Debate Review (Debate 9)

Here's how I rank the Democratic candidates' debate performances from debate 8: 7) Bernie Sanders : With "front-runner" status attached to his name, Sanders received the brunt of the attacks for the first time in this election cycle, and with mixed results. He seemed rather taken aback by some of the boos he heard from the crowd and felt a little off his game as a result. Having said that, it wasn't a horrible night for Sanders, as his less-than-stellar performance I feel was overshadowed by the ineptitude of the debate moderators (yikes!), but still, he'll need to up his game when playing defense in the future. In essence, he'll need to heed his own advice and feel the Bern going forward. 6) Michael Bloomberg : Eh. It was an improved performance from his first debate showing. Of course, that'd be like saying, "This migraine is better than my gout attack." Bloomberg made some good points and we'll see if he can continually improve in ...

Democratic Candidate Rankings (Post-Debate)

Here are my rankings from after the seventh Democratic debate ( https://thekind-heartedsmartaleck.blogspot.com/2020/02/democratic-candidate-rankings-post.html ). Here now are my rankings post-debate #8, with the change in their rankings noted in parentheses: 8) Michael Bloomberg (-1) 7) Tom Steyer (+1) 6) Tulsi Gabbard (+/-0) 5) Joe Biden (-1) 4) Bernie Sanders (+1) 3) Amy Klobuchar (-2) 2) Pete Buttigieg (+/-0) 1) Elizabeth Warren (+2) Who should stay in? 1) Elizabeth Warren 2) Pete Buttigieg 3) Amy Klobuchar 4) Bernie Sanders 5) Joe Biden Who should get out? 1) Michael Bloomberg 2) Tom Steyer 3) Tulsi Gabbard

Democratic Debate Review (Debate 8)

Here's how I rank the Democratic candidates' debate performances from debate 8: 6) Michael Bloomberg : Welcome to the show... Ouch! The last time I saw a beating like that was in the film Airplane! , when a woman began having a panic attack and a line of people formed to literally knock some sense into her. On second thought, I think the Bloomberg beatdown last night superseded even that. After that anguishing performance, Mike may very well want to change his identity and be called Shirley. 5) Amy Klobuchar : Disappointed  is the first word that comes to mind for me when describing Senator Klobuchar's debate performance last night. As regular readers know, I thought she had been progressively improving in each and every debate since #2 - peaking last time around, where I felt she performed head-and-shoulder's above the rest. The Minnesota Senator had impressed me so much, she took over the reigns in my Democratic candidate leaderboard. Last night, though, she stumb...

Democratic Candidate Rankings (Post-Debate)

Here are my rankings from after the sixth Democratic debate (https://thekind-heartedsmartaleck.blogspot.com/2020/01/democratic-candidate-rankings-post.html). Here now are my rankings post-debate #7, with the change in their rankings noted in parentheses: 8) Tom Steyer (+2) 7) Michael Bloomberg (+4) 6) Tulsi Gabbard (+2) 5) Bernie Sanders (-2) 4) Joe Biden (+3) 3) Elizabeth Warren (-2) 2) Pete Buttigieg (-1) 1) Amy Klobuchar (+3) Who should stay in? 1) Amy Klobuchar 2) Pete Buttigieg 3) Elizabeth Warren 4) Joe Biden 5) Bernie Sanders 6) Michael Bloomberg Who should get out? 1) Tom Steyer 2) Tulsi Gabbard

Democratic Debate Review (Debate 7)

Here's how I rank the Democratic candidates' debate performances from debate 7: 7) Joe Biden : I really wish the former Vice President would up his game on the debate stage. He just often comes across as angry, disinterested, and like he missed an afternoon nap at some point during the past month. Instead of telling others to get off his lawn, Biden has actually been shouting that he wants to get off the debate stage! 6) Andrew Yang : A man of few words, with some good ideas, who appears to stiffen up when on the debate stage. I had high hopes for Yang after I heard a couple of interviews with him on cable news channels. He came across as sharp, witty, personable, and due to these attractive traits and others, he was my sleeper to make a splash on the debate stage and in the race. Unfortunately, that didn't happen, as the person I saw in the interviews was not the person I saw on the debate stage. Even though he's since dropped out, psst, if you want to provide me w...

Democratic Candidate Rankings (Post-Debate)

Here are my rankings from after the fifth Democratic debate ( https://thekind-heartedsmartaleck.blogspot.com/2019/11/democratic-candidate-rankings-post.html ). Here now are my rankings post-debate #6, with the change in their rankings noted in parentheses: 12) John Delaney (+6) 11) Michael Bloomberg (N/A) 10) Tom Steyer (+3) 9) Michael Bennet (+6) 8) Tulsi Gabbard (+4) 7) Joe Biden (+3) 6) Andrew Yang (+3) 5) Deval Patrick (N/A) 4) Amy Klobuchar (+2) 3) Bernie Sanders (+4) 2) Elizabeth Warren (+1) 1) Pete Buttigieg (+/-0) Who should stay in? 1) Pete Buttigieg 2) Elizabeth Warren 3) Bernie Sanders 4) Amy Klobuchar 5) Deval Patrick 6) Andrew Yang 7) Joe Biden Who should get out? 1) John Delaney 2) Michael Bloomberg 3) Tom Steyer 4) Michael Bennet 5) Tulsi Gabbard

Democratic Debate Review (Debate 6)

Here's how I rank the Democratic candidates' debate performances from debate 6: 6) Joe Biden: For as much as I hate to admit this, if Trump were to nickname the former vice president Bumbling Biden after this wretched performance, I'd have to agree with him. This brought back memories of his first debate performance, where he lacked energy, emotion, or enough sleep from the previous night. He looked old, tired, and like he just didn't want to be there. I sincerely hope this wasn't a sign of things to come and hope he bounces back to his improved showings in debates 3 through 5. Otherwise, if he becomes the Democratic nominee, it's going to be so rough going in the debates between he and Trump, pilots will need to think up a different word for turbulence . 5) Tom Steyer: While it's not saying much, Steyer improved upon his previous showings. His answer with regard to foreign policy was painful to watch, though. "Why should we trust you to make those ...

Podcast: "I Feel Snitty" Episode 4: "Jake Tapper: The Least Trusted Name in Debates" Premiere Date: 8/6/19 Length: 9:40 (1,608 words) Link: https://ifeelsnitty.podbean.com/e/jake-tapper-the-least-trusted-name-in-debates/ Transcript: Welcome to I Feel Snitty. I’m your host, Craig Rozniecki. For today’s episode, I’m going to switch things up a little bit. Last week’s CNN debates were so poorly run, I felt the need to satirize it in skit form. I suffered from a serious case of déjà vu last Tuesday and Wednesday night. In a 2015 CNN Republican primary debate, moderator Jake Tapper seemed more intent on provoking spats and drama than on helping educate the public on who the candidates were and what they stood for. Well, the same thing occurred last week in the Democratic debates, as the debates became more about the moderators than the actual candidates. Due to that, I feel like CNN should be called out on their epic fail from last week. I now bring to you ...
