Obama's re-election means the end is near!

Hollywood legend and rumored lead to the film Mister Rogers Blows Up His Neighborhood  - Clint Eastwood - provided the perfect performance at the Republican National Convention, as far as symbolism goes, to illustrate how the majority of the Republican Party views President Barack Obama. For anyone with a half-functioning eye or ear would know, Eastwood's performance showcased the Hollywood star talking to an invisible President Obama sitting on a chair. Like Eastwood that night, it's seemed as if 98.3% of hard-core Republicans (especially Republican leaders) have been telling the American people about an invisible Obama sitting on a chair. I seriously wonder sometimes how many far-right Republicans would be able to spot President Obama in a crowd. It's as if they have been playing the childhood game of telephone with one another throughout the president's first term, and with him being elected to a second term in office, it's not likely to stop anytime soon. Kal Penn pokes fun at Clint Eastwood and his empty chair at the Democratic National Convention

Due to the cable being out last night, I was not able to see this in real time, but I guess actor Kal Penn poked fun at Clint Eastwood's discussion with an empty chair last night at the Democratic National Convention. It can be viewed at the link below. I honestly thought it could have been funnier, but was entertaining nevertheless. I'm hoping there are more jokes at the expense of Eastwood and the chair in the coming two days, especially by the president himself tomorrow night. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/09/05/kal-penn-clint-eastwood-dig-man-in-chair_n_1857284.html

Romney vs. Chair - Chair wins

Courtesy of a Pew Research Center Poll, it was showcased that the highlight of the Republican National Convention was a tight-race between the Republican nominee, Mitt Romney, and actor Clint Eastwood with his co-star - an empty chair. While Romney received 17% of the vote, he was beat out by Eastwood and company (a chair), who received 20%. That's right, ladies and gentlemen - the highlight of the Republican National Convention was a grumpy old man talking to an empty chair. You just can't make this stuff up, I tell you! Well, I suppose you could, but would have to be extremely high at the time. http://www.people-press.org/2012/09/05/rnc-highlights-romney-shares-top-billing-with-eastwood/

What I'd like to see at the Democratic National Convention...

When President Barack Obama starts his speech on Thursday night, I'd love for someone to place an empty chair by him and for him to say look at it and say something along the lines of, "Hey Clint. How's it going? I'm surprised to see you here. Am I making your day right now? I have to tell you, I felt pretty lucky last week when you were speaking," and then look back at the crowd with a big smile on his face. I'd like to see that or the Democrats bring out Betty White to parody Clint Eastwood's performance. If the Democrats don't poke fun at Eastwood talking to an empty chair at least once, I will be severely disappointed.

The Republican National Convention (Thursday night, 8/30/12)

The final night of the Republican National Convention was hardly one to remember, well, besides one moment which I'll get to in a couple minutes. Newt Gingrich and his wife took turns reading from the teleprompter, auditioning to become presenters at the next Oscars. Strangely enough, when Newt opened the envelope, he said, "...and the winner for best husband to three different women with a first name resembling that of a salamander - it's me - Newt Gingrich!" The crowd went wild. Newt then thanked his first couple wives, before realizing his third was standing right next to him (he thought he was hallucinating at first and saw a ghost, but realized it was his wife), so he placed his arm around her and said, "Let Newt do to you what he did to all those other women. Pucker up, baby, and then go to the land down under!" After making out with his wife for a few moments and realizing she couldn't "go to the land down under" while on camera at tha...
