Comments on my latest satirical video, "Putin Murica First!"

I just received the following comments on my latest satirical video, "Putin Murica First!," where I poke fun at Donald Trump's announcement that he'll be running for the 2024 presidential election: - "Hahaha! Layers of funny!" - "😂😂😂" - "Where in the hell did you get that wig? Hysterical! You had the hand gestures and all. Bravo!" - "'I'm running to lose the popular vote' LOL That was my favorite part!" The video can be seen here. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIFxNM7BHg4&t=4s

Excited about Democratic candidate Kamala Harris

I know it was just 12 years ago when Barack Obama announced his run for the presidency, but given the fact that's 1/3 of my life, it's a significant duration of time for me. Ever since the nightmare that was the 2016 election, I've been pulling for a Kamala Harris/Cory Booker ticket for 2020. Well, while Booker has yet to announce his intentions heading toward 2020, Senator Harris has officially announced she's running, and I have to say, this is the most excited I've been about a potential presidential candidate since Obama 12 years ago. I voted for Al Gore in 2000, John Kerry in 2004, and Hillary Clinton in 2016, but I didn't vote for any of them in the Democratic primary. The only time I've voted for the eventual Democratic nominee in the party's primary was for eventual 2-term president Barack Obama. While it's very early in the nominating process, to this point, Kamala Harris is who I'm pulling for to be on the top of the party's 2020 ...

Loser of the NFC Championship game, coach Ted Cruz announces his Super Bowl starting quarterback

After his team got walloped 56-0 in the NFC Championship game on Sunday, head coach Ted Cruz surprised everyone when he made the following announcement: "After a great deal of consideration and prayer, I have come to the conclusion that if my team makes the Super Bowl, our starting quarterback is going to be Tim Tebow. One of the most important decisions a football coach can make is who he picks as his quarterback and I think it's safe to say you can all rest assured Tim Tebow is intelligent, dependable, and most importantly, he's a winner. The guy can run, throw, keep benches warm, and even dunk the oval-shaped balls in basketball rings if that's what he's called to do on 4th down. I know our last game was a rough one, but I want our fans to know we're going to fight every step of the way, no matter what, even when those steps don't actually exist. Thank you and let's continue marching our way to the Super Bowl as God intended!" Tim Tebow then...

My Strange Moment Of The Week: Coming to the defense of a pair of conservatives

I don't do this very often, but I'm going to come to the defense of two conservatives: Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal and Sarah Palin's daughter, Bristol Palin. Jindal has been the butt of a lot of jokes this week concerning a video where he announced he was going to be running for president, and Palin has received criticism for once again getting pregnant. While I'd be the first to admit that Jindal's video appeared to be a tad on the creepy side, I also prefer how he went about things (minus the video) over how most other candidates go about making such announcements. I thought it was kind of nice that he sat with his family and talked to his kids about his decision, and even went so far as to ask what they thought. I respect that. I don't agree with Jindal on much of anything as far as politics are concerned, but while the video provides material for easy, cheap jokes and laughter, I think people should lay off him for this. It's nice to see a politici...

Rand Paul's all about the "eductation!"

Kentucky senator and politician voted most likely to start a hair product called Randgaine - Rand Paul - yesterday announced that he would run for president in the 2016 election. Like what happened to Texas Senator Ted Cruz shortly after announcing he'd be running for president, however, Rand ran into, what online doctors would call a website boo-boo (yes, that's the technical term, in my mind anyway). In the education section of Rand Paul's website, a video was showcased with the Kentucky senator speaking about this very topic. What was the title of this video? "Rand Paul Opposes A One-Size-Fits-All Approach to Eductation." Yes, that's right, in the education portion of his website, the Rand Paul team misspelled "eductation." It's no wonder the Kentucky senator opposes a one-size-fits-all approach to education. He even believes there should be more than one correct spelling for "eductation." In light of the hilarious typo, I thou...

...and the new "Daily Show" host will be Trevor Noah

After announcing he'd be leaving The Daily Show  after 16 years as the show's host, there was much debate and speculation on who would replace Jon Stewart. Former Daily Show correspondent and short-term host John Oliver was mentioned, as were several other of the show's correspondents, such as Aasif Mandvi, Jessica Williams, Samantha Bee, Jason Jones, not to mention actress and comedian Tina Fey, as well as comedian and right-wing commentator Dennis Miller, among others. So it came to many's surprise to hear that the only recently added correspondent Trevor Noah was named as Stewart's replacement. To this point, Noah has only done three segments on The Daily Show  and with mixed results. While his first appearance came across as both humorous and witty, his second bit was much less so, and his third segment was a mix of the two. So just from a performance angle, to this point I have found Trevor Noah to have potential, but also believe that his history is too minima...

The difference between Jason Collins and Tim Tebow

Very recently, I've seen some far-right evangelicals make comparisons between NBA basketball player Jason Collins and NFL player Tim Tebow. It's usually provided in the form of a cartoon, which goes something like this: Tebow: "I'm a Christian." Media: "Shut your mouth! Keep your religion to yourself!" Collins: "I'm gay." Media: "You're a hero!" First off, the bit regarding Tebow is a definite exaggeration. While the media loves to hear good soundbites and Tebow isn't really known for that, I haven't heard anyone in the media start yelling at the quarterback after he gives thanks to God. It's not like I've heard anything such as this: Tebow: "First off, I've got to give praise to God for giving me the opportunity to play...and..." Reporter Fernando Dipshitz: "Hey, Tebow! Shut the hell up! We don't give a rat's a*s about your God! Talk football, godda*mit!" No, l...

Donald Trump's "big" announcement

I just read that the sexiest man in America - Donald Trump - has a "big" announcement to make about the president tonight which could alter the state of the election. What is this announcement? Vegas odds are as follows: 500 to 1 - The president's real name is Danny. Upon being born in Kenya and realizing he'd one day like to run for president of the United States, he swapped identities with a twin brother he has named Barack. 250 to 1 - When tripping acid with Trump one time, the president thought he saw Donna Summer and asked her (meaning Trump) if she (he) wanted to make out. 100 to 1 - Trump will release pictures of he being the one killing Osama bin Laden - with a spork and a toupee that transforms into a dinosaur named Spike. 50 to 1 - He'll let it be known that the president was actually the one to impregnate Arnold Schwarzenegger in the film "Junior." 6.9 to 1 - Mr. Rat-hair will say "April Fool's...in October!" and then...
