Donald Trump celebrates Cinco de Mayo

While waiting for a table at "Hot Fajitas and Chicas," I was lucky enough to bump into Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, and asked him how he was celebrating Cinco de Mayo, to which he replied: "I'm gonna make 'Hot Fajitas and Chicas' great again, mark my word. What I'm going to do is have Mexicans build me a big beautiful margarita and then make them pay for it. It's gonna be yuuuge, believe me. If they don't like it, they can count on making me a margarita that's 5 inches bigger." When asking the business mogul how he was going to accomplish this, he said: "I'm just gonna do it. Consider it done. It's gonna be tremendous, bigly tremendous, so bigly tremendously unbelievable, you won't be able to believe it, that I can promise you." Once Trump was seated, I asked a Mexican-American employee, Maria Virginia, what she thought about the billionaire's idea, to which she responded: "No f**k...

Rainbow flags should be raised high!

So, I just looked outside and noticed the world hasn't ended yet. I know, shocking, isn't it? Sarcasm aside, it's about damn time! Some conservatives, however, seem to be confused by the word oppression , in claiming that the Supreme Court's ruling is an oppression on religious beliefs. I'm sorry, but that's not oppression. People are still free to believe as they so choose. Oppression is a person being disowned by family after coming to terms with who they are. Oppression is being fired from a job due to whom they're sexually attracted. Oppression is being denied hospital visit rights of a partner. Oppression is being denied service because of who a person is. Oppression is being beaten on the streets for looking a certain way. Oppression is being withheld equal rights under the law. The LGBT community has been oppressed for far too long and it's about damn time they're provided equal marriage rights! Congratulations to all of my gay and lesbian f...

Gun-rights groups to celebrate "Guns Save Lives Day" on the anniversary of the Newtown shooting

On December 14th - exactly two months from now - it will be the one-year anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary shootings in Newtown, Connecticut, which resulted in the deaths of 20 children and 6 adults. How will several gun-rights groups, including the national Second Amendment Foundation, the Citizens Committee for the Rights to Keep and Bear Arms, and DefendGunRights.com, honor that day? By celebrating "Guns Save Lives Day" across the 50 states. That's right. On a day when 20 6- and 7-year old kids were shot and killed while at school, which left this nation heartbroken, several guns-rights groups will be celebrating "Guns Save Lives Day." Yes, tell that to the 26 families whom lost a loved one via guns on that horrific day. This is an extremely insensitive move by these gun-rights groups. It would be one thing to hold such events on a non-nationally significant day when it comes to acts of gun violence, and quite another when they're held on the...

Happy New Year!

As I'll likely be too busy tonight spending time with family, tomorrow spending time with my girlfriend, and spending time with my dad on New Year's watching college football games, I thought I'd wish all my readers a very Happy New Year! I hope that 2013 treats you better than 2012 or any other preceding year did! Be safe and have fun!

Rick Perry Compares Gays In Military To Celebrating Christmas. I'm now going to compare divorce to children trick-or-treating...

Texas Governor and Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry has caused quite the stir in recent days due to a new ad of his. In this add, Perry says the following: "I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m a Christian, but you don’t need to be in the pew every Sunday to know there’s something wrong in this country when gays can serve openly in the military but our kids can’t openly celebrate Christmas or pray in school." http://newsfeed.time.com/2011/12/09/rick-perrys-strong-campaign-ad-gets-the-web-angry-and-laughing/ A classic satire of the ad was displayed on "The Colbert Report" a couple days ago. That can be seen here - http://www.colbertnation.com/the-colbert-report-videos/403958/december-08-2011/rick-perry-s-pro-christmas-ad This ad made me a bit speechless. It was reminiscent of the Herman Cain smoking ad, where I couldn't tell if the ad was legitimate or a parody. Honestly, since the ads were indeed genuine, comics didn't have to parody them...
