Trump Sabotages VehicleCare

On Facebook Live earlier this week, President Trump took apart one of his limousines for the world to see. Directly after doing this, he made the following speech: "They just don't make cars like they used to. Look at that pile of garbage behind me. It's pathetic! I mean, the tires are missing, the steering wheel isn't connected to that one thing, the engine is on top of the hood. Two words: Sad! That thing is useless! It can't even drive! This is what I've been saying all along, people - the cars today are crap! Period!" He ended his speech by saying, "Cars have been failing us for far too long. If you want a better car, take yours apart like I did. It'll be better for your family, the economy, the country, believe me!" In a poll just released this morning, it showed that, in response to Trump's speech, 77% of his supporters feel that Barack Obama invented the automobile.

Protesting Privilege in the Name of Equality

While protests may be fairly common, there's been a significant uptick in them since Donald Trump's inauguration on January 20th. From the Women's March on Washington to chants of "No ban! No wall!" and beyond, Donald Trump's presidency has attracted protesters like Tom Brady attracts deflated balls. Since the inception of these protests, I've heard conservatives ask countless times, "What's the point? What are they protesting against? Where were these protests when Obama was elected? What do they have to complain about?" Well, allow me to answer those questions... What all these protests have in common is a fight for equality, which many conservatives have falsely branded as a fight for socialism. The majority of conservatives I've spoken to who have derided the protests as pointless and counterproductive are white, male, straight, and Christian. I, myself, happen to be white, male, straight, and was born and raised in a Christian hous...

The real reason why Republicans are upset with President Obama's executive action on immigration

Ever since President Obama took office in January of 2009, he's spoken out about the need for immigration reform. Much to his dismay, however, through a term and a half, Congress has been negligent on taking action regarding the matter. Democrats feared losing votes on election day and Republicans feared a Democratic President being credited with accomplishing immigration reform, and with that, losing millions of former illegal immigrants to the Democratic Party in coming elections. In other words, the two parties decided their own political futures were more important than proving they deserved political futures by actually working together and accomplishing something in Washington. Upon seeing that there was less chance of Congress working together on the matter than of a dead man winning the lottery, President Obama decided to, like Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush before him, take executive action on immigration. This infuriated Congressional Republicans. Some called for a ...

Bobby Jindal's government shutdown argument fails on all levels

Yes, the Republican Party is talking about another government shutdown (since it worked so well that last time...), and yes, even though House Republicans prompted the first shutdown and the GOP is talking about it being a possibility yet again, they claim, like the first go-round, it will be President Obama's fault. Let's review the first shutdown, shall we? Step 1: President Obama got elected as President of the United States Step 2: The Affordable Care Act got passed by both the House and the Senate Step 3: The president signed the bill Step 4: The bill gradually got implemented Step 5: The Supreme Court ruled that the bill was Constitutional Step 6: House Republicans threatened a government shutdown if the Affordable Care Act wasn't repealed Step 7: The Affordable Care Act wasn't repealed Step 8: The government shutdown began Yes, through a democratic process, a president was elected, a bill passed, was signed, got implemented, and even survived t...
