A family in need of help

Sadly, someone very close to my family and I passed away today. He was my son's maternal grandfather. His family is struggling with finances and is need of some help for his cremation. This family means a great deal to me. Any donation, no matter how much it is, would be greatly appreciated. Every little bit helps. Thank you. https://www.gofundme.com/dad039s-final-rest?fbclid=IwAR0pO12eE7B8aR2QLCjZFFOcu4vdflnYd89LOmvWMvrE4q8557705HrGlqo

Common Sense (or lack there of...)

I love my family. I love my mom. But some people in the family lack much common sense. Just today, my mother did some grocery shopping and picked up a prescription for my father. He had gotten this particular medication before and notified her that it cost $10. How much did it wind up costing? $130. My father has been having to pay medical bills and it's put him on a pretty tight budget, so a $120 difference in a medication, is rather huge. But, she didn't call and all hell broke loose as soon as she came home and notified him of the charge. She told him he could pick up his prescriptions from this point forth and he asked if a bell went off when she heard the price, having known via him that it was going to cost $120 less. As usual, I had to play the silent middle-man. Yeah, sure, my father coul...

The Problem With “Liberal” Teachers

I've heard it many times and the more I read in independent and alternative news, the more I read about teachers being labeled as too "liberal." Right as the war in Iraq began, an elementary school teacher spoke to a class about alternatives to war. A student asked if she was for or against protests and she stated that she favored all alternatives to war, until it was truly the last resort. So, a student tattled on her and not long after, she was let go by the school. Not too long after that, a college professor made comparisons between George W. Bush and Adolf Hitler. Toward the end of his speech, he noted that all he was trying to do was provoke thought and just because he said what he did, didn't make him right. He was just attempting to get the students to open their minds and look at things in a different light. A student ratted on him and the teacher got suspended from teaching until the investigation comes to a close. These are only two of the many storie...
