Podcast: "I Feel Snitty," Episode 8: "Don Didn't Build That!" is now available!

The latest episode of my podcast, I Feel Snitty , entitled "Don Didn't Build That!," is now available! You can check it out here:  https://ifeelsnitty.podbean.com/e/don-didnt-build-that/ Here's a brief description of the episode: Remember that time everyone in the GOP and their pet tarantula named Teddy took President Obama out-of-context when he said, "You didn't build that!"? Fast-forward seven years and ironically, these same GOPers, led by Donald Trump, believe the current president has built this strong economy and everything pertaining to it all by his lonesome. In this episode, I'll debunk all of those claims, prove Trump is doing nothing but taking credit for Obama's accomplishments, and turn what the GOP see as the second-coming of Abraham Lincoln into a dumber version of Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho (Psst, if you don't get the reference, watch Idiocracy, like now). If you're curious to check out any additio...

Don Jr. gets an "A" in riding coattails, an "F" in math

Donald Trump, Jr. took to Twitter to defend his father's record on minorities, as he posted this tweet: "If over his entire presidency Obama had accomplished 10% of what @realDonaldTrump for these groups the left would anoint him emperor for life. When Trump does it in less than 2 years it's Blah Blah Blah. What a joke!" I think it's safe to assume Don Jr. is speaking in reference to the fact that unemployment among African-Americans is at the lowest rate ever recorded, dipping to under 6%. But as usual, a Trump isn't telling the whole story and is largely taking credit for someone else's work. Like every other demographic, black unemployment rose during the Great Recession, peaking at above 15% in 2010. It's been going down ever since, dipping to 12.5% in 2013, 10% in 2015, and roughly 7.5% when Obama left office. So black unemployment went from 17.5% to 7.5% under President Obama, a decrease of 57%. Meanwhile, it's decreased from 7.5% to 6%...

Jobs Numbers Breakdown From 1992-2018

Since Donald Trump has enjoyed talking up the economy since he entered the Oval Office, often declaring he's done a great job and the economy is the best it's ever been due to him, I thought I'd dig a little deeper into such claims. I looked at the beginning and end of terms for each of the past four presidents, three of which spent eight years as Commander-in-Chief. Only time will tell if Trump joins that club alongside Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama. First, I looked at the average number of monthly jobs each of the four presidents created in their first two and last two years of their 8-year tenures, with the only exception being Trump, as he's been in office for just a little over 2 years to this point. Here's how those numbers break down, from the most average number of monthly jobs gained to the most average number of monthly jobs lost. Jobs Per Month 1) Clinton (01/94 - 12/94): +321,000 2) Clinton (02/99 - 12/99): +279,364 3) Clinton (02...
