I finished season 4 of the critically-acclaimed series Ozark last night. Oddly enough, for as addicted as I was to the series, I couldn't wait for it to finish.  Ozark was the epitome of binge-worthy. It was fast-paced; had lots going on; there were twists aplenty; and just about every episode ended with a cliffhanger, which made it next to impossible to not feel the need to watch JUST one more before bed. Seriously, the show was like last-call at a bar. The bartender yells out, "Last call! Last call for alcohol!" You think to yourself, "Yeah, I probably shouldn't. It's not good for my health. I shouldn't drive. This really wouldn't be a good idea for anyone." With all of this deep introspection, what do you say? "Yeah, sure! Make that two drinks! Thanks!" That was Ozark . You'd already had a few drinks; were feeling pretty good; wanted the party to continue; and contrary to better judgment, decided to deprive yourself of at least ...

Is it just me or does Donald Trump come across as a hybrid of the cinema characters Ron Burgundy (from Anchorman ), Biff Tannen (from Back to the Future ), and The Dude (from The Big Lebowski )? Like Burgundy, it appears as though Trump will read anything that's placed in front of him. Like Biff, The Donald seems to believe he can bully anyone into getting his way. Lastly, like The Dude, the president comes across as a man without the largest vocabulary in the world, often repeating himself time and time again. Allow me to test that theory by writing a Trump speech using only quotes from the three before-mentioned characters. We'll see how this goes... Is it just me or is there a written requirement somewhere which says, "If you're a character in a horror film, you have to be stupid"? My girlfriend and I went to see the film The Purge last night, and like with many contemporary horror films, we spent more time laughing and giving each other the why-in-the-hell-are-they-doing-this-are-they-stupid looks. Yes, I know the main intent of horror films is to frighten viewers. However, if the viewers find the script and plot so ridiculous, it's unbelievable to the point of being silly, then how will the film genuinely frighten said viewers?
