On January 31st of last year, I published a blog which shared the story of my battles with sexual abuse and epilepsy growing up; the depression and suicidal thoughts which sprung from them; and how artist Marilyn Manson's interviews and music essentially saved me. Within hours of releasing that extremely personal story, actress Evan Rachel Wood published an Instagram post, which alleged Manson of multiple forms of abuse, including sexual. While it was an incredibly surreal moment for me, I refused to comment on it until both parties made their case and evidence was gathered one way or the other. Yes, call me crazy, but even as an abuse-survivor myself, while I feel every abuse allegation should be taken seriously, I'm also a staunch believer in due-process. For the most part, Manson (real name Brian Warner) stayed mum following the allegations. Last year, I eclipsed my previous record for blog views in a single day with 11,111 ( https://thekind-heartedsmartaleck.blogspot.com/2017/10/new-blog-reader-record.html ). Well, as I discovered just a couple minutes ago, I surpassed that one day total in a big way yesterday, with 72,564 views. Thank you dear readers for helping me achieve that record! For a long time, I've enjoyed doing things alone professionally. From writing to editing to cover designing to marketing, it's been nice to feel total control over my projects. However, I think I've finally reached a point where I'm not able to complete all of my daily tasks and long-term goals by my lonesome and am in need of some help. Well, that was a "bigly" increase in blog traffic. The previous high in views had been 1,267 on October 23rd of last year. Then just yesterday, October 30th, we reached 11,111 views within a 24-hour period! What is it about October? Well, thanks to all of my readers, listeners, fans, and followers. Well, that was a nice surprise. On the day my new book, LOL at the GOP - Volume 6: Orange Is the New Crazy , came out, we set a record for blog views over a 24-hour period, with 1,267. The previous record was 1,114. Thanks to all my readers, listeners, and followers! What has it been with the crazy comments I've been receiving on my blog entries recently? It's as if several far right-wing organizations passed memos around, saying, "So, like, do you know that crazy progressive Craig dude? I guess he's been in and out of the hospital lately, so now's the time to fill his blog with right-wing propaganda! Let's do this!" The most recent such comment was in response to my December 7th post, entitled, "Another false equivalence Facebook meme," which can be read in its entirety here - http://thekind-heartedsmartaleck.blogspot.com/2015/12/another-false-equivalence-facebook-meme.html. I realize it's just a coincidence, but I thought it was kind of a cool coincidence. On the first day of 2016, right as I awoke actually, I reached exactly 150,000 views on my blog, and later in the day, I reached exactly 32,000 followers on Twitter. So I'd like to give a sincere thanks to all my readers and followers. Hopefully my crazy mind will be able to continue entertaining you in 2016! Cheers!

I'm really not one who likes to brag, which is probably a big reason why I'm continuing to struggle making a lot of money writing. But in any case, I just heard a story the other day I felt the need to share. In the wake of the tragic San Bernardino mass shooting last week, I wrote a blog entitled, "Still too soon to talk about this?" which can be read here: http://thekind-heartedsmartaleck.blogspot.com/2015/12/still-too-soon-to-talk-about-this.html After sharing this writing on my Twitter account, I received notification from a high school teacher in New York that she shared this very writing with two classes of her's (including an AP class), adding that it prompted an interesting discussion, and I won some new fans along the way. So, as The Dude might say, I thought that was pretty cool.

On July 28th, I posted a blog entitled, "An updated Obama chain email continues to be filled with BS (http://thekind-heartedsmartaleck.blogspot.com/2015/07/an-updated-obama-chain-email-continues.html). In this chain email, which has been continually updated throughout Obama's tenure, 37 claims were made. Thanks to a fact-checker by the name of Matthew ( http://barnson.org/node/1880), here are how things broke down:  True: 4 (10.8%) False 27 (73.0%) Mixed: 3 (8.1%) No grade: 3 (8.1%) In other words, anywhere from 30 to 33 of the 37 claims were at least partially false (81.1% to 89.2%).  Just this afternoon, I received a response to this post, which said something along the lines of this:  "I think you're at least half wrong. We celebrated Veterans Day this past Wednesday. On that day, I stumbled across a blog posted by Wes Morgan, entitled, "I'm A Veteran - Don't Thank Me," and wanted to share it with readers.
