Excited about Democratic candidate Kamala Harris

I know it was just 12 years ago when Barack Obama announced his run for the presidency, but given the fact that's 1/3 of my life, it's a significant duration of time for me. Ever since the nightmare that was the 2016 election, I've been pulling for a Kamala Harris/Cory Booker ticket for 2020. Well, while Booker has yet to announce his intentions heading toward 2020, Senator Harris has officially announced she's running, and I have to say, this is the most excited I've been about a potential presidential candidate since Obama 12 years ago. I voted for Al Gore in 2000, John Kerry in 2004, and Hillary Clinton in 2016, but I didn't vote for any of them in the Democratic primary. The only time I've voted for the eventual Democratic nominee in the party's primary was for eventual 2-term president Barack Obama. While it's very early in the nominating process, to this point, Kamala Harris is who I'm pulling for to be on the top of the party's 2020 ...

Douche of the Day - Canadian millionaire Kevin O'Leary

Just recently, a Canadian entrepreneur proved it is very possible to simultaneously be a millionaire and an idiot. On The Lang & O'Leary Exchange , Canadian millionaire Kevin O'Leary said the following with regard to a recent report about the rise in income inequality: "It's fantastic! This is a great thing because it inspires everybody, gets them motivation to look up to the one percent and say, 'I want to become one of those people, I'm going to fight hard to get up to the top. this is fantastic news and of course I'm going to applaud it! What can be wrong with this?" Co-host Amanda Lang then stared at him with the classic I-can't-believe-what-you-just-said look, and said, "Really?" O'Leary responded with, "Yes, really. I celebrate capitalism." Lang then countered with this: "So somebody living on $1 a day in Africa is getting up in the morning and saying, 'I'm going to be Bill Gates'?" ...

Working on another political satire

I will try to keep blogging in the coming days, but my main focus will be on my third political satire. I believe that I've garnered all the material I'll need for it, and now need to proofread, edit, research, and organize, which can take some time. Hopefully I'll be able to balance that project with everything else I'd like to do in the coming days and possibly weeks. Anyway, I just thought I'd forewarn my regular readers that I likely won't be writing 6-10 blogs a day as I was doing last week, but will attempt to continue writing on a fairly regular basis. I'll also be sure to update everyone on this book's progress. I'm not 100% certain of what the title will be yet, but I have a few ideas. This third installment will likely be seen as the most controversial and divisive of the three, so I'm kind of excited, yet nervous about that as well. Wish me luck!

I'll be promoting my book on a radio show...

The date isn't set yet, but I spoke to a radio talk show host last night and he wants me on his program to talk about my new book -  LOL at the GOP. So yes, I'm both very excited and nervous about that. I've always been told I have a good voice for the radio, but can't say I've ever actually been on the air, so I'm thinking a drink may be in order prior to the show to calm my nerves some. I'll be sure to keep readers updated when I find out the latest!
