Sin City hosts a "Choose Purity" event...

This past Saturday, a "Choose Purity" event was held at the William Pearson Center in Las Vegas (yes, Sin City). What was the ultimate goal of this "Choose Purity" event? According to Officer Regina Coward, who helped organize the event, it was to persuade girls to wait until marriage to have sex. So, what happens if girls engage in premarital sex? According to Ms. Coward, girls fall victim to sexual assault, gangs, drugs, and even prostitution. As Coward said, "Avoid sex and avoid those perils." It's just that easy! Well, so long as you're not easy, or something... Ironically enough, Ms. Coward said she's passionate about abstaining from sex until marriage because she was impregnated at 16, and has always wondered how life could have been different if she had followed through with her current pro-abstinence message. The fact of the matter is, though, that roughly 95% of people engage in premarital sex, and those whom take virginity pledge...

I was asked tonight why I'm so afraid of sex. Eh, I'm not...

I engaged myself in a rather lengthy online conversation last night. It was very interesting, as it was the first time we had communicated in any manner and were extremely open with each other, which was kind of refreshing. I haven't communicated with too many people who are open and honest, especially with regard to women. With women I've generated an interest in over the past year, they've been vague, subtle, giving me more mixed messages than politicians during election season. So, like I said, it was nice having a conversation with someone who I knew wasn't beating around the bush (so to speak...) with what she was telling me. The conversation eventually wound up centering on the topic of relationships and with that sex. After talking to me about it for a while, she asked why I was so afraid of sex. I'm not. This isn't the first time I've been asked or accused of this and it likely won't be the last. I honestly think that sometimes I'm on the r...

Want to defund contraception? Vote Santorum!

Republican candidate Rick Santorum had this to say recently with regard to contraception: "[Sex] is supposed to be within marriage . It’s supposed to be for purposes that are yes, conjugal…but also procreative. That’s the perfect way that a sexual union should happen…This is special and it needs to be seen as special." I'm so glad to have a candidate whom believes himself to be God and the moral compass for all. Thank you, Mr. Santorum, for your morality and your wisdom. How I wish Mr. Santorum believed in abstinence through marriage so that he wouldn't have the opportunity to share his Godliness with his youngsters. I do have to say I feel a little sorry with The Santorum. If the only sex he's had is during marriage, he's probably only engaged in the adult activity a handful of times in his 53 years. This could make for some catchy slogans and bumper stickers, though, such as: "No Contraception! Vote Santorum!" It's poetic, if I do ...
