Inspirer of the Year: Kennedy Montgomery

Former MTV (Music Television) DJ and current MTV (Moronic Television, AKA Fox News) talking head, Kennedy Montgomery, just recently provided the world words so inspirational, Martin Luther King is providing her the slow-clap from heaven. When discussing the CBO's breakdown of the new Senate healthcare bill and how they predicted 22 million fewer people will have health insurance because of it, here's how Ms. Kennedy responded to Eric Bolling's comment regarding the matter: Bolling: "'Thousands of people (will die),' Bernie Sanders says, Pelosi says 'hundreds of thousands.' Kennedy, Schumer says, 'one to two thousand.'" Kennedy: "You know what, at least they are not employing any hyperbole at all. No exaggeration, no hysteria. You know what the crazy thing is? We're all going to die. And they can't predict -- there's no way unless they are absolutely psychic and have a party line to heaven, they don't know who's

Hannity tries his hand at comedy...

Fox News host and man who yells at his kids while sleeping - Sean Hannity - decided to try his hand at (unintentional) comedy on his show Monday night, as he said this to former House Speaker Newt Gingrich: "You know, Mr. Speaker, I kinda feel in many ways we've been--and you've been included in this and you've been an enormous help with great analysis--we've almost been a sole voice here of sanity in the media."  Really? Okay, you can all stop laughing now. But seriously, really (where's Seth Meyers and Amy Poehler at when you need them?)? According to Pulitzer Prize-winning fact-check site, Politifact , Hannity and Gingrich have the combined scorecard: True: 12 (11.9%) Mostly True: 12 (11.9%) Half True: 24 (23.8%) Mostly False: 19 (18.8%) False: 21 (20.8%) Pants on Fire: 13 (12.9%) True/False Net: 23.8%/52.5% (-28.7%) Mr. Hannity, what do you think about those numbers? "You know, Mr. Speaker, I kinda feel in many ways we'

All demographics believe in "easy" voting, except...

The Pew Research Center just released the results to a poll they conducted with regard to voting. I found the results to be interesting for the simple fact all demographics agreed with each other, except for one. Pew asked participants whether they felt that citizens should register ahead of time in order to vote or if everything possible should be done to make it easy for citizens to vote. All of the following demographics agreed with the latter approach, and I'll list the numbers accordingly: Democrat: 84/15 (+69) Black: 79/19 (+60) 18-29: 71/27 (+44) Hispanic: 64/35 (+29) Coll grad+: 62/36 (+26) Women: 62/37 (+25) HS or less: 61/37 (+24) Total: 59/39 (+20) 30-49: 59/40 (+19) Independent: 57/41 (+16) Men: 56/41 (+15) 50-64: 54/43 (+11) 65+: 54/43 (+11) White: 54/44 (+10) Some coll: 53/44 (+9) Look at those numbers again. Here are 14 demographics, as well as the total, who all agree that we should do everything in our power to make voting easy for citizens on ele

Trump breaks the world record for signed blank pieces of paper

In what he's hailing as his signature achievement, President Donald Trump just broke the world record for signing the most blank pieces of paper in one sitting. To celebrate his accomplishment, while standing under a "Mission Accomplished Big League" banner, Donald Trump relayed the following message: "My fellow Americans, what I did today was kind of a big deal. I can't describe just how big it is. Did you ever catch a big, like a really big fish? This is even bigger than that, believe me! I just broke a world record today, which means I did something more than anyone else did something, so that's something right there! This just goes to show all the doubters out there that, when I put my mind to something, I can accomplish anything! I was in the zone today, folks. Just one blank piece of paper after another, and boom, boom, boom, signed, done. My hand has never been that busy before, and it's been pretty busy. Just ask Access Hollywood. Anyway, this

GOP ponders dropping elephants on people

Even though polls are showcasing a public approval rating of just 17% for the Obamacare-repeal-and-replace bill, Republican lawmakers appear to be on the verge of going ahead with their healthcare reform package, which would include the death of 23 million people via elephants pummeling them after being dropped from the Statue of Liberty. With regard to the measure, House Speaker Paul Ryan had this to say: "Obamacare is failing. People are spending way too much money. There aren't enough options. People are going bankrupt. It's just not working. So what we need to do is offer a sure-fire option, and that's dropping a 12,000 lb. animal from 305 feet in the air right onto a person who will no longer have to worry about paying Obamacare's ridiculous premiums!" After hearing this, it's been rumored that Lady Liberty altered her pose from holding a torch to giving herself a facepalm.

Men really are idiotic a-holes sometimes...

U.N. Women and Promundo conducted a study on sexual harassment, as they asked 4,830 men in the countries of Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, and Palestine if they had ever sexually harassed women in public with anything from "ogling" to "groping" and "rape." Embarrassingly, the numbers ranged from 31% (in Lebanon) to 64% (in Egypt). If that wasn't bad enough, up to 90% of the men surveyed (in Egypt) said they harassed these women because they thought it was fun. Sadly, those weren't even the most eye-popping numbers in the survey. In all four countries, a greater number of men than women said the women liked the harassment due to the attention they received from it. In Morocco, 71% of men felt this way. I'm sorry, but men really are idiots sometimes. There is a stark difference between flirting and harassing, between complimenting and obsessing, between making a woman feel flattered and making her feel violated. According to the men in this survey,

A new review for my book, "The Art of the Steal"

I just received a new review for my latest book, The Art of the Steal: How a Chump Became School President . It reads as follows: "Best satire I've ever read. Extremely entertaining. I had tears of laughter throughout. It's a short story that I wanted to go on and on and on. I absolutely loved it. Craig Rozniecki has the best words; bigly words. Believe me when I say his career as a brilliant writer will be yuge. For only $0.99, it's a 'steal.' Believe me. Must read!" If you're curious to give it a look, you can do so at this link: https://www.amazon.com/Art-Steal-Became-School-President-ebook/dp/B071F9TVRW/ref=sr_1_28?ie=UTF8&qid=1495243706&sr=8-28&keywords=the+art+of+the+steal

It's not "liberalism;" it's common sense

I don't mind being called a liberal, but it does bother me to hear others label my well-researched facts as crazy liberalism, when they should just be called common sense. - Supporting the funding of family planning facilities like Planned Parenthood, as well as comprehensive sex education, which provide young adults information and contraception access to improve the odds of making better decisions and decreasing the chances of unwanted pregnancies and abortions isn't liberalism; it's common sense. - Supporting equal, yet improved education for all students in order to improve their chances of being successful and earning a livable wage isn't liberalism; it's common sense. - Believing that climatology experts are more educated on our climate than I am, reading consistent studies of melting polar ice caps, rising temperatures, not to mention rising sea levels, and concluding that global warming/climate change is legit, isn't liberalism; it's common sen

No More Mr. Nice Party

For far too long the Democratic Party has tried to fight fire with tissue paper, and it's about damn time they match that fire with some fire of their own! While liberals have often times teased Congressional Republicans for coming across as less educated than Albert Einstein's moustache, intentionally or not, these same Republicans appear to be geniuses when it comes to emotional manipulation. Let's face it, facts and numbers are boring. We need to find a way to combine those facts with more emotion in order to be more persuasive than the overly emotional and nonsensical GOPers. Let's compare these two parties' strategies through the years: Issue: Healthcare Democrats (with regard to Trumpcare): "According to the Congressional Budget Office, 23 million Americans could lose healthcare." Republicans (with regard to Obamacare): "You're all gonna die!" Democrats (new plan of attack): "According to the CBO, 23 million of you coul

Democrats need to reach out to more voters

Democrats are often known as the party of diversity and inclusion. While that may be true and may provide a difficult path to victory for Republicans years down the line, Democrats need to reach out to more voters in order to win more elections today. Over the course of multiple election cycles, Democrats have won when it comes to the following demographics: Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, LGBTs, Arabs/Muslims, non-religious, women (not so much with white women, however), college students/young people, etc. So, yes, as this country continues to become increasingly more diverse, well educated, and with that, accepting, the Democratic Party appears to be in pretty good shape years down the line. However, as recent midterm elections and last night's special elections have showcased (not to mention the general election), even with the support of all these demographics, the Democratic Party continues to fall short of victory more times than not. So what do they need to do? Try to appeal mo

The media needs to put an end to referendums

I know the 24-hour news media has a lot of space to fill, and more times than I'm sure they'd care to admit, they fill that space with information that is less useful than a how-to book on reading how-to books. Having said that, though, they really need to cut it out with their seeming obsession with "referendums" during election season. Newsflash: Not everything is a referendum! In fact, unless a large majority of the people vote, it's difficult to call any election season a referendum on a previous or current administration. After President Obama was elected and the Democrats lost midterm elections as they so often do, that wasn't a referendum on Obama. That was history repeating itself. When Donald Trump got "elected" president with the vote of roughly 25% of the people whom were eligible, that was not a referendum on the previous president, who had left office with approximately a 60% approval rating. Finally, last night's Georgia special e

Birther Sean Hannity claims birther Donald Trump is getting birther-ized

Apparently Sean Hannity knows similes like Motley Crue groupies know abstinence, for he recently said this: "Democrats, members of the destroy-Trump media will not stop pushing this phony Russia-Trump collusion narrative despite no evidence. This has now become, like, Russia-Trump conspiracy, birther conspiracies, you know? Sort of truthers."  No, they're not alike at all actually. It's not even an apples-and-oranges argument. It's more like an apples-and-Old-Country-Buffet argument. Sean Hannity, Donald Trump and other birthers felt that then President Barack Obama's birth certificate was forged. That claim was debunked time and time again, yet they still had doubts about its authenticity. There was never any FBI investigation on whether or not Obama was a legalized citizen of this country. There were never any hearings held by the Senate Intelligence Committee, where Obama Cabinet appointees were inquired about whether or not they had heard anything rega

The linguistic acrobatics of Donald Trump

The linguistic acrobatics of Donald Trump and those who work with or for him are quite amazing. I suppose they would have to be since the man appears to be unable of admitting a mistake, all the while lying approximately 69% of the time, according to Pulitzer Prize-winning fact-checker Politifact.com . When Trump made claims that the size of his inauguration crowd was larger than that of Obama's, Kellyanne Conway called it an "alternative fact." More recently, after the president admitted that he was under investigation in a tweet, one of his lawyer's came out and said that he wasn't under investigation. Ms. Conway added to this, suggesting that Trump was merely trying to place a spotlight on irony with his tweet. In many other such scenarios, Trump or his spokespeople have excused the president, suggesting he was just being sarcastic, not to take his tweets seriously, that he was being taken out of context, or how he was interpreted didn't match his int

Calling out both Caitlyn Jenner and Joy Reid

While I may get some heat for this from fellow progressives, I think it's incredibly important for us to be consistent with our criticisms of members from both parties, and with that, we don't hold double-standards for the simple fact we may typically agree or disagree with a politician's or commentator's opinions. In saying that, I have to call out both conservative Caitlyn Jenner and liberal Joy Reid for their recent comments regarding the Steve Scalise shooting. While I typically enjoy Ms. Reid's show and don't ascribe to Ms. Jenner's talking points, I feel I have to treat both equally. Jenner joked about the shooting, saying, "Fortunately, the guy was a really bad shot. Liberals can't even shoot straight." Reid, on the other hand, had this to say about the Republican representative: "It's a delicate thing because, obviously everybody is wishing the congressman well and hoping that he recovers. But Steve Scalise has a histor

Hateful rhetoric: The right turns a blind eye, and then they deny, deny, deny

In light of the horrific shooting at a Congressional Republican baseball practice this past week, while many GOPers stayed respectful to their colleagues on the other side of the aisle, some were uncoy to speak out about shooter James Hodgkinson's anti-Republican Party leanings. These individuals went as far as to blame liberals' hateful rhetoric, the recent New York City rendition of Julius Caesar , and yes, I even read at least one report of a Republican Congressman partially blaming former President Barack Obama. If that weren't enough, a far right-wing pastor called for a liberal/Democratic-purge. Look, no matter what this man's political affiliation was (or religious affiliation for that matter), there's absolutely no excuse for what he did. In saying that, however, as I've said numerous times before, one person does not make a group, and therefore no group should be seen as represented by one person. James Hodgkinson may have been a self-described liberal,

Jeff Sessions cannot recall what he had for breakfast 5 minutes ago

Right after Attorney General Jeff Sessions exited the Oval Office following a breakfast date with President Donald Trump, I caught up with the AG and engaged in the following back and forth with him: Excuse me, excuse me, sir! Would you mind answering a couple questions? Sessions: "Oh golly, gee whiz, oh my. Yeah, I guess. Shucks." So, what did you and the president discuss over breakfast this morning? Sessions: "You know, a lil bit of this, a lil bit of that, a lil bit of the other. You know how it goes." No, not really, which is why I asked the question. Specifically, what did the two of you discuss this morning? Sessions: "Big, important things, I mean, like really big and really important." Okay, one more question.... Sessions: "You said it was going to be two questions..." Well, you didn't really answer either of my first two, so I think it's only fair to answer a third. Sessions: "Fine. Alright then. Go ahead

"When Men Don't Understand Feminism" brought to you by Justin Reeder

At a "Men For Life Prayer Walk" in Charlotte, North Carolina on Saturday, roughly 600 men, led by pro-life group "Love Life Charlotte" founder Justin Reeder, protested abortion. In a video at the protest, Reeder said this: "The truth is that this (abortion) is more of a men's issue than it is a women's issue. Yes, one out of three women will have an abortion in their lifetime, but it is also one out of three men. We forget about the men so often in this story. ... Men, we are called to be protectors of women and children. This is our hour. This is our city. This is our generation. Men, it's time for us to rise up and protect women and children."  When first reading this, I couldn't help but hear the voices of Amy Poehler and Seth Meyers from their Saturday Night Live "Weekend Update" days, as they would continually ask the question, "Really?!? REALLY?!? I mean, really?!? Seriously, really?!?" While Justin Reeder ma

The gist of Donald Trump and his presidency to this point

Donald Trump has been in office for 143 days (and counting). Not a day goes by where we don't hear about a breaking news story with regard to a Trump tweet, scandal, exaggeration, distortion of history, or word salad. If I had to describe Trump's presidency to this point in three words, they'd be: Narcissism, denial, and accustomed. While I have my theories on what transpired between the Trump administration and Russia, I won't delve into that at this point. What I will say is Donald Trump's first 150 days have undoubtedly showcased his seeming obsession with himself, his denial of reality, and his spoiled upbringing. While it's certainly debatable whether or not Donald Trump truly wanted to become president, I don't think it's at all debatable that he didn't realize what he was getting himself into when he ran for and eventually got elected president. A lot of Trump supporters voted for the man because they claimed he was a brilliant businessman

Conspiracies are facts and facts are conspiracies

This is Murray McMurrington reporting with channel 7 DUH out of Little Rock, Arkansas. Earlier today, I was informed of an unconscious man lying where I stand right now, and I asked a number of witnesses about what had happened. Here's what they told me: "He was looking down at his phone and ran right into this street pole over here." - Gilbert Gosuck "He just walked right into them poles right there." - Joe Jo "You see that here pole over there? He walked right into it, you see. I know, because I seen it for myself." - John Jacobs "What they said." - Justin Juice "Ditto here." - Patrick Suave Now, I should also report that one of our witnesses, Mr. Gosuck, received a call from his cousin Billy, who said all of our witnesses were wrong. Mr. Gosuck then handed me his phone, where Billy relayed to me this story: "You see what happened was some dude named Mahmoud Abdul Abu Dhabi Sauce bought a drone from Walmart Al J

What if Trump were a child?

Die-hard Trump supporters befuddle me to no end. Let's think about this for a moment here. Most of these individuals identify as "Christian," are big into "family values," and claim to vote Republican for their children's well-being and futures. It's also common to hear them berate celebrities for not being good role models to their kids. Yet here they are steadfast in their support for Donald Trump, a man who: - Has been married three times - Has cheated on all three of his wives - Has a history of making lewd comments toward women - Has allegedly sexually harassed/assaulted 20+ women - According to Pulitzer Prize-winning site Politifact , lies approximately 69% of the time, while telling the truth just 17% of the time - Has a history of making discriminatory remarks against minorities of all stripes - Has a tendency to get angry - Has trouble taking responsibility for his own actions, often casting blame elsewhere - Seems to believe t

Dear GOPers: You've been had!

Almost every day someone asks me, "How could you let someone like Donald Trump get elected president? Was it as shocking for you as it was for me?" Honestly, no. Donald Trump is simply the product of years of lies promulgated by leaders of the conservative movement and the Republican Party, and for as much as I hate to say it, my Republican friends, you've been had! Liberals like myself are fairly notorious for innocuous language, so I think it's about time to take off the kid gloves and get real! While neither party is perfect (far from it) and both are controlled by big money, let's get something straight, the Republican Party is not the party of morality, God, the middle class, family values, or personal responsibility! In fact, if anything, it's become the antithesis of them! People change, and with that, parties change too, and the modern-day GOP is nothing like the Republican Party in the days of Lincoln, Eisenhower, or even Reagan. Let's look at

It's getting to be "Real Time" that HBO lets go of Bill Maher

What is this, Offensive Joke Month? First, Late Show host Stephen Colbert came under fire for calling Vladimir Putin Donald Trump's "c*ck holster." Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte made a rape joke, saying if his troops raped women during his martial law, he'd cover for them. Comedian Kathy Griffin did a photoshoot which featured a picture of her holding a bloodied doll head resembling President Trump. Then just last night, Real Time  host Bill Maher engaged in the following back-and-forth with Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse: Sasse: "We'd love to have you work in the fields with us." Maher: "Work in the fields? Senator, I am a house n***a (-er?)." As I've always said, when looking at the level of offensiveness of a joke, I try to analyze both the context and the intent. With Stephen Colbert's joke, the CBS late-night show host was ironically poking fun of two anti-LGBT politicians whom seem to have a serious bromance with one ano
