Kudos to former Green Bay Packers safety LeRoy Butler

Former Green Bay Packers safety LeRoy Butler was scheduled to give an anti-bullying presentation at a church in Wisconsin this summer, but it appears as if his speech has been canceled, which Butler explained in a series of tweets. These tweets stated the following: "Wow, I was schedule to speak at a church in WI, and a member said that the pastor wants to cancel my event, I said ok why? Then I was told, because I said congrats to Jason Collins on twitter, I said really? we have a contract, he said check the moral cause. FYI the fee was 8500$, then I was told if i removed the tweet, and apologize and ask god forgiveness, I can have the event, I said no." A bit later, he tweeted this: "I found out what happened, I guess some parents went to the church and complained about my tweet for support of Jason Collins, so sad." Michigan's New Anti-Bullying Law Protects Religious Tormenters

I read a very disturbing story just yesterday about the Michigan Republican-controlled Senate passing an anti-bullying bill which excludes from the bill bullying if it is in the name of sincerely held religious beliefs or moral conviction. What, is this due to the bullying of homosexuals and that it's supposedly an "abomination" to God? Why even have an anti-bullying bill if it excludes bullying based on religious beliefs? Due to this, who's to say a majority of the perpetrators of such bullying won't hide behind the notion that they did this in the name of their religious beliefs or moral convictions? We wouldn't be able to prove that the individual was speaking the truth or lying. This is pathetic... Fortunately, the bill has to go through the house of representatives. The bad news is that the house has a Republican majority, so the chances of the religious exemption being stripped is about as likely as me winning the lottery tomorrow. I did find one sec...
