The Debate: MAGAs vs. Me

Here's a lovely back-and-forth I've had with MAGA cultists over the past day.

Me: I've now designed 11 patriotically hilarious anti-MAGA shirts. They can all be found and purchased here. - https://when-shirts-hit-the-fan.printify.me/?fbclid=IwY2xjawJRJMFleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHUgO5oyCYpRybUu5UxGcIQa7ivX6qRqdTbDaz41p5_tVpq9CQYkW-VBk1Q_aem_t6MFTOP9_tuKpU4mW53dWg

MAGA #1: "Can I get a Kamala Harris’s a moron and an unintelligent liar shirt too?"

MAGA #2: "yeah I want one of those!"

Me: You'll need to look elsewhere for that. I'd recommend checking out either MAGAProjection dot com, TrumpLied30573TimesInHisFirstTerm dot org, or InRussiaWeTrust dot gov.

MAGA #1: "I’ll try. Funny how the democrats and Kamala lied about joes cognitive dysfunction? You are a party of terrorists burning tesla dealerships. Your party is pathetic and BTW you aren’t funny just poor."

Me: Lots of projection in that response. Which demographic commits the most terrorist acts in the country? Right-wing extremists.

MAGA #1: "the American people voted for law and order. You purple haired idiots can’t read the room Z"

Me: You sound angry. Do you need help?
Law and order, eh? Trump is a 34x-convicted felon and adjudicated rapist, who was charged with 54 additional felonies. Hiring him to be in charge of "law and order" would be like going to Jeffrey Dahmer for advice on  veganism.

MAGA #1: "Do you understand economics or hand outs?"

Me: More than you, I'm assuming. Donald Trump was the first president since Herbert Hoover, in 1933, to leave office with fewer jobs than were present when he entered it. Read a little history and get back to me.

MAGA #1: "What exactly do to contribute to the success of the US economy? Crickets"

Me: Were you drunk when you wrote these comments? No offense, but that's how they come across.

MAGA #1: "Bull shit"

Me: What is? What Trump spouts every time he opens his mouth? If so, that would be quite accurate.

Me: By the way, I have evidence to back up all of my claims; you just have recycled talking points. You were never on debate team, were you?

MAGA #1: "well he closed the border budy."

Me: That's not the full story.

Also, let's take a step back and garner a clearer picture of illegal immigration in this country. Here are the numbers, by year, with regard to illegal-immigrant population, U.S. population, and the percentage of  the U.S. population which is comprised of undocumented immigrants, respectively.

W. Bush enters office
2001: 285.1M, 7.8M, 2.7%
2002: 287.7M, 9.4M, 3.3%
2003: 290.2M, 9.7M, 3.3%
2004: 292.2M, 9.3M, 3.2%
2005: 296.4M, 10.5M, 3.5%
2006: 298.4M, 11.6M, 3.9%
2007: 301.6M, 11.8M, 3.9%
2008: 304.1M, 11.6M, 3.8%
Totals: 27.6%/8 = 3.45% average
Change from year 1 to year 8: +40.7%

Obama enters office
2009: 307.0M, 10.8M, 3.5%
2010: 308.7M, 11.6M, 3.8%
2011: 311.9M, 11.5M, 3.7%
2012: 313.9M, 11.4M, 3.6%
2013: 316.1M, 11.3M, 3.6%
2014: 318.9M, 11.3M, 3.5%
2015: 322.1M, 11.0M, 3.4%
2016: 324.3M, 10.7M, 3.3%
Totals: 28.4/8 = 3.55%
Change from year 1 to year 8: -5.7%

Trump enters office
2017: 324.7M, 11.4M, 3.5%
2018: 327.2M, 11.4M, 3.5%
2019: 328.2M, 11.5M, 3.5%
2020: N/A (COVID)
Totals: 10.5/3 = 3.50%
Change from year 1 to year 3: +/-0.0%

Biden enters office
2021: 331.9M, 10.2M, 3.1%
2022: 332.4M, 11.5M, 3.5%
2023: 338.5M, 11.7M, 3.5%
2024: Data not yet available
Totals: 10.1/3 = 3.37%
Change from year 1 to year 3: +12.9%

Overall
The 2 Republican Presidents: 3.46% average, +20.4% average change per term
The 2 Democratic Presidents: 3.50% average, +3.6% average change per term

Since 2002, undocumented immigrants have comprised at least 3.1% of the U.S. population every single year. The average difference in their percentage of our overall population is microscopic, when comparing the previous two presidents from each party. That is, unless we're talking about change from the first to the final years of the aforementioned presidents' terms, in which case the two Democratic presidents have fared substantially better than their Republican counterparts. Is immigration reform necessary? Yes. But has one party been significantly better at tackling illegal immigration than the other over the past quarter of a century? No.

MAGA #2: "Not sure why you hate him so much. The majority of people voted him in. He’s a businessman. He’s pro America."

Me: All three of those claims are actually false.

1) There are 340 million people in the U.S., approximately 240 million registered voters, and Mr. Trump earned a little over 77 million. That equates to roughly 22.6% of the population at large and 32.1% of  registered voters.

2) He's a con-man, who pretends to know business.
https://latimes.com/.../trump-business-partners...
https://cbsnews.com/.../trump-new-york-fraud-case.../
https://vanityfair.com/.../donald-trump-charity-scam...

3) He's anti-America. Just because a person says "America First" and "Make America Great Again," that doesn't mean they actually believe it or act in accordance with it. That'd be like a person continually saying they're Christian, all while cheating on their wife with her sister. He's stated on multiple occasions we need to do away with the Constitution. The guy thinks he and his inner-circle are above the law. He isolates our allies and befriends dictator adversaries. He's brought  back segregation. The man was documented as to having lied 30,573 times during his first term. He was impeached twice: 1) For bribing/extorting an ally and 2) Inciting a domestic-terrorist attack on our nation's  Capitol, in an effort to overturn a democratically-held election. He's been convicted of 34 felonies; charged with 54 others; found liable of defamation twice, fraud at least twice, and raping a woman. Oh, and if that weren't enough, he's praised, wait for it, Adolf Hitler, on  multiple occasions. How he's conned so many is beyond me. He absolutely, 100%, abhors America.

MAGA #1: "sorry buddy nobody was busting your nuts over the Trump posts. I had to jump  n and have some fun. But Biden was the worst president of my lifetime.  Cheers brother!"

Me: Trump's been the worst president of my lifetime.

MAGA #3: "Yeah, it'd be a real shame if America were to be great again."

MAGA #3: "dear friend, liberal delusion knows no bounds. We're coming off of the single worst Presidential Administration of All-Time. You can't  possibly deny that."

Me: Nice projection. Reality says otherwise. You can't possibly deny Trump  was/is the worst president this country has ever had, and it's not even close. You've been conned.

MAGA #3: "Reality says otherwise. One trip to a grocery store or a gas pump between January 20th, 2021 and January 20th, 2025 would have taught you that. This will go nowhere. We'll agree to disagree and carry on."

Me: Yes, reality says otherwise. Inflation increased significantly across the globe for a time. It started at the very tail end of Trump's first term. It continued to increase through the first year and a half of Biden's  term. This problem wasn't isolated to the U.S. It was felt globally. So, to suggest the Biden administration was responsible for an issue, which started before they came into office, and wasn't isolated to the United  States, is ridiculous. Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act, and we began to see inflation settle down over the the final 2.5 years of his term. How many Republicans voted for said bill? Zero. With regard to  gas, presidents have very little control over prices. Why was it so low for a time when Trump was in power? COVID. People weren't driving, so demand was down, which resulted in extraordinarily low prices. This is  exactly why inflation increased seemingly exponentially once the COVID lockdowns were lifted. Tens of millions of people had lost their jobs. When said lockdowns were lifted, they were still without a job. This inevitably led to supply not being able to match demand, resulting in  higher prices at the store. Again, this all started under Trump. Maybe, just maybe, if he had attempted to confront COVID from the outset, instead of saying it'd vanish into thin air 38 times, fewer jobs would have been lost and inflation wouldn't have gotten out of control, but I digress.

Boycotting jukeboxes because of TouchTunes

I love music and enjoy hitting the bar(s) over the weekend, so naturally, when the mood strikes me, I've never been coy about playing some songs on the jukebox. This past Thursday, a friend of mine turned 50, so several friends of her's, including myself, all met up to celebrate the occasion. At around 9:30, a friend of mine and I both chipped in $5 to play some songs on the jukebox. Four hours and 231 skips later, we gave up on hearing the songs we had selected, and went home knowing we had just wasted $5. This wasn't the first time such a thing had happened to me (and many others), and due to that, I'll be boycotting jukeboxes. Why? The scam known as TouchTunes. You see, here's how the plot typically breaks down. A person (or group of people) downloads the TouchTunes app on his/her phone, consumes one too many adult beverages, and due to this, has less care for spending extra money to hear the songs of their choosing right NOW. That's the thing with TouchTun...

Trump's Lie Tally at the CNN Debate

1) "We had the greatest economy in the history of our country. We had never done so well. Every – everybody was amazed by it. Other countries were copying us." 2) "But the thing we never got the credit for, and we should have, is getting us out of that COVID mess." 3) "The only jobs he created are for illegal immigrants and bounceback jobs; they’re bounced back from the COVID." 4) "Not going to drive them higher. It’s just going to cause countries that have been ripping us off for years, like China and many others, in all fairness to China – it’s going to just force them to pay us a lot of money, reduce our deficit tremendously, and give us a lot of power for other things." (tariffs) 5) "He also said he inherited 9 percent inflation." 6) "No, he inherited almost no inflation and it stayed that way for 14 months. And then it blew up under his leadership, because they spent money like a bunch of people that didn’t know what t...
